In terms of announcements (from Japan which is thing I like) I'm very happy with the event.
  • Legend of Mana (a fucking must have, instabuy and whislist)
  • Ninja Gaiden Collection (it's sigma but still will buy)
  • Neon White (looked cool but I'm not sure if it's a day one or "down the line" purchase)
  • SaGa Frontier (a fucking must have, instabuy and whishlist)
  • Samurai Warriors 5 (we will see)
  • Famicom Detective club (not coming to PC as it's Nintendo's)
  • Shin Chan My Summer Vacation (ABSOLUTELY CUTE, too bad this won't come to the west nor to PC)
  • NMH3 (looked a bit more rough than I expected but it will be a buy when it comes to Steam)
  • Project Triangle Strategy (hehe, steam purchase :coffee-blob:)

If it doesn't I will personally invade your dreams and plaster anime girls tapestries all over your bedroom. :dana_bed:
BD2 will come, you have my word

Hope [Geometic Shape] {English Word} Triangle Strategy gets released on Steam, just like Octopath was.
Seems like a modern Final Fantasy Tactics spiritual sequel.
AS FOR RIGHT NOW, only switch.

(wording ^^)
Oh, Valheim is Embracer? Fuck that, I’ll never buy it then.
It's coffee Stain Publishing and Coffee Stain is Embracer.

EDIT: double answer, sorry.

Covfefe Stain ... from recent report
The game is inspired by Viking culture, developed by our external partner Iron Gate and published by Coffee Stain. At the publication of this report, the game has already sold close to 3 million copies. The commercial impact follows Coffee Stain’s typical partnership with external developers, including a minority ownership in the studio.

Started Dying Light last week and it's pretty fun. Very different design than what I'm used to other open-world games.
No fast travel to known locations is starting to get a bit annoying though. Beginning was rough, you really feel underpowered.
Yeah I really struggled at the start of Dying Light. I remember getting trapped on a little tin shed with a bunch of zombies below me and it took about 10 bonks on the head to kill just 1 of the fellas and my weapon broke and i thought it sucked. Stick with it though as once you level up a bit it really is fun game and traversing the map is part of the fun.

I wasn't too underwhelmed right after the direct but the more I think about it the more it feels like shit, Nintendo-wise.
Reusing Mor list because lazy
  • Legend of Mana -> Why not.
  • SaGa Frontier -> Cool too, but ugly as fuck on some eshop screencaps.
  • Samurai Warriors 5 -> Not that interested in the redesign but hey, why not #3
  • Famicom Detective club -> Good production values, noice
  • Shin Chan My Summer Vacation -> Hey, like the rest of the franchise, never in the west :confounded-face:
  • NMH3 -> FUGLY, really fucking barebone
  • Project Triangle Strategy -> Yeah, cool
  • Zelda Skyward Sword -> Didn't play it at the time so I'm open to it, but it's infamous for being meh and Nintendo can fuck right off with the 60$ price tag
Overall a nice Direct for niche RPG. Good stocking stuffers for the next few months, but nothing incredible.

Yeah, the footage shown is pretty rough. It's probably in-game footage on switch so it should look way better on PC. :cat-heart-blob:
Yeah, although it was also an streaming footage so, quality wasn't the best.
Hopefully we get NMH 1 and 2 on Steam by May-June.

Agree, I was quite happy with a lot of the announcements, so yeah, worth it.

Announcements which, on the plus side, were pretty out of left field, at least for me. Nice little surprises.

Trust me on this, Skyward Sword is a great game with a few noticeable flaws. It has one of the greatest soundtracks, one of the best stories and THE best dungeons in the whole Zelda series.

The $60 price tag is indeed ridiculous though.
There wasn't anything on BotW 2 was there?
They promise updates within the year. I think it will be a 2022 game.

Cool. I dared use my DS4, so 10 minutes of fiddling ensued. Defect USB port but also good old windows shitting the bluetooth bed.
Then I noticed some sizzling, and what do you know, my speakers are going the way of the headphone I talked about some days ago. Had to fiddle with the jack to obtain a clear sound... on one speaker.
Now we have a problem. If as EdwardTivrusky said, it can be the port that is tired, I don't fucking plan to change my CPU.

I don't know the background here, but why would you change your CPU?
You can get a decent enough USB sound device for <20€.

The background is me being shit at hardware :cold-sweat:
Your solution sounds good, but then we hit the available USB ports being limited on my PC due to some defects (one front is suspect) and already several dongles. So I would have to buy an USB hub, then buy a USB sound device. Sounds very Frankenstein !
...
I joke, because it sure beats buying a CPU :thinking-blob:

edit -
And FFS, as cheap as those things must be, it is beginning to add up.

Try the USB ports at the back.
Oh I mentioned the front one for reference, I never use it due to it being probably fucked. But that's one less candidate :thinking-blob:

Resisting urge to make a funny with our dear user of the same name.

edit
It's the speaker, fiddled some time with the jack, had the left speaker finally output sound and it cut as soon as I dropped the cable going out of it.
That's, uh, nice. I guess.

Ooh, this is finally out of early access, with 15% launch discount too.
Just bought this, never heard of it before but it looks good. Comments say that the combat is a bit iffy but im going to give it a go. Cheers for highlighting it. Love me some Souls like games.

Has 20% off discount if you log in. Game+Season Pass is $68 which is...still too much XO
Base edition is $48 which is what I expect humble to offer as well, but as GMG offer additional idscount coupons, I'm hoping they do it sooner so I can grab it XO.

Rochard being removed from Steam

Dear Rochard customers,

Recoil Games has applied for bankruptcy quite a while ago. We've been trying hard to find a new home for the game. Unfortunately there were no offers that would have enabled the bankruptcy estate to close the deal. The bankruptcy estate will soon be closed and the publishing agreement with Steam will be terminated.

This means Rochard can no longer be purchased on Steam. However, the game will remain available in your Steam libraries as is.

Thank you for your understanding.
Really wish I could've got it

Tell us what you think of it, I played an early version with the devs at a game show (game is made in Lyon, France, where I live) last year and it was a little clunky at the time, but really fun.

Edit : oh, didn't see prudis asked the same thing and you already answered :sorryblob:

Remember playing this a while ago, and ended up really not liking it. The action is ok enough, but it just weirded me out that the protagonist actively comments on kills you make. "Oh yeah", "Woah, that was a good one" and so on, and the game starts with you private guards that are just doing their job (the hero is breaking into some station, iirc).

I guess it's weird that I'd be ok with it, if the game was just silent about, but this sort of ingame commentary is just creepy AF.

It seems weird that the bankruptcy estate would decide to shut the game down. Even if no one is willing to pay for it, it's still a small stream of income. They could decide to set up a fund that gets the revenue from the game and pays dividends to their lenders, or something
Seems like something bankruptcy law isn't really equipped to deal with.

Legend of Mana looks great, finally SE use AI upscaling for the background of their remaster. Triangle Strategy is a must buy, it's like a dream come true for long FF Tactics/Tactics Ogre fans. I'm pretty sure it'll come to PC a year (or 6 months( later, but I'll probably get the Switch version.

That's the whole Direct for me.
Apparently not, it seems they have redrawn the backgrounds

Hope we can play with the original graphics to match the sprites which thankfully don't appear to have some stupid sal filter.

Just saying, I probably won't even get the game, same for SaGa Frontier, far from my favorites though I may have misunderstood them back then.

Nindy Direct was great for Steam announcements.

Also I expect Koei is really happy with Nioh 2s performance on Steam, still on top 10 global.

It could be a bit of both. Start with AI-upscaled graphics, and get some digital artists to improve upon these.

They could also have used a different super-resolution algorithm, tweaked for their needs based on a few before/after examples done by hand.

Duckstation is superb. If a game fails to launch, disable PGXP settings and re-enable them ingame ( or just disable whatever causes the error as per duckstation :V)
Who owns the rights to Croc? I could see that making a return nowadays.
Maybe with the physics of Croc 2 on Croc 1, to avoid the tank controls (which weren't there mid jump, that was a really odd choice to add those to a platformer and only halfway).
