I saw from my Steam Activity feed that some of you have bought Dragon Star Varnir. How's the performance? Is it still resolution locked to 1080p like Death End re;Quest? :02notes:

I planned to buy Dragon Star Varnir but apparently its story has a time limit or something like that. I really dislike things were you're punished for the time you may take so I'm skipping it for now and will wait for a deeper sale.

Loved PC Gamer unintentionally highlighting Tencent's stranglehold in the industry while all this Blizzard stuff happened.

Not long ago suggesting that connection and influence on western companies was pretty much akin to racism and fearmongering.
I couldn't possibly get any smugger right now.

It's almost like having a(nother) corporation that answers to an authoritarian state and helps build their Orwellian tech investing in countries around the world was always obviously a bad thing.

So in Bradwell Conspiracy, I'm stuck after the
Induction puzzles
I'm up on the sides and see I have to get over but it won't let me make a bridge?

EDIT: Solved it! Wasn't good enough with the photo mechanic... ironic haha

I've always been thinking of picking this one up. Anyone here played it?

I have it and always wanted to play it, first I held of because they were going to release the "remaster" and then I just didn't get around to it. Even the first version did seem to have good impressions and now it should be better.

I played it for a few hours last night (thanks to whoever posted that stream with the free keys!)

Its alright, a little bit 'clunky' but so far im enjoying it. Some of the paths you need to take are a little obscure..

Yeah ive had a few bits where i just needed to photo something but missed it so was running back and forth

So games on gamepass PC, do they have achievements?
Quite a few do, though you wouldn't know about it, unless you use the companion app to check. There's no UI for them, neither in the Gamepass app, nor the Gamebar. It's all very barebones. You got loads of games for near free, though, so hard to complain.

And that's Link's Awakening finished on Switch. Great game. Switch says "10 hours or move".

Every damn time I finish a game on Switch I keep thinking "Ah, I wish it had a activity log".
Yeah especially after the great Activity Log on the 3DS it's sad that it's reduced to this.

Reading through some PS5 announcement thread, it's like reading through new iPhone announcement thread.

At least with iPhones the release is a few weeks later but those people have been in a perpetual loop of speculating/dreaming about the (not very meaningful to begin with) Teraflops of nextgen for what feels like years now and with still no concrete data nothing has changed. 8TF, no 10, oh maybe 12-14, got an idea, what about.... 11TF! On repeat since ~2017.

Talking of Caravan management games...

Silk is released in two days and is worth a look if you fancy a Blobber style game where you manage a caravan along the Silk Road. You choose an avatar with a goal, recruit people to help with trade/battle/animals etc and travel the Silk Road looking for fortune. There are snippets of history along the way too which really help embed the history and atmosphere of the place. It's an open world where you move block by block, dialog and choice are handled by selecting a portrait of the person speaking etc.

It's very chill if you're looking for that kind of thing.

... and a gameplay video i found.

It's amazing, you can easily spend 30 to 40 hours in its base campaign and then double that with total conversion mods. Buy Warband.

And yeah, it's messy, but it's hard to not love its junky aspects.

I have a hard time staying in (I enjoy the tutorials and such lol) the game after the beginning any tips?

Also is the non pvp DLC (I think viking) worth it? I also own Fire & sword and the original one.... What to play...no mods yet.

What you are struggling with? I was going to write a full guide with the little I remember from the game beginning but it got too big. Looking back at MBW is actually overwhelming when it comes to all you have to manage, especially at the beginning when you have to grow your troops and such. So let me know which areas you aren't sure about and I will try my best to explain these, or I can just give you a couple general tips.

And regarding DLC and other M&B games:

- Mount & Blade is pretty much outdated and not worth to play. Warband is a massive upgrade and overhaul of that game, so unless you are curious to see how it started, I wouldn't recommend it.

- M&B: Fire & Sword is a glorified DLC for Warband. Well, kinda. It adds muskets, which is a whole other layer to battles but the overall game feels imbalanced. Early game is too difficult and late game you will be practically getting money from just existing. The game also doesn't have a couple of management / kingdom building features that Warband did.

- I have no idea about Viking Conquest. It was super buggy at launch and I avoided it. I'm going to re-buy it now on Steam to check it out later.

It's slightly PC related thread on a console forum i didn't expect anything different to be honest.

Finished Wolfenstein New Order last night. Man, that final boss fight was pure bullshit. I had no idea there was a whole stash of weapons right before the final area, and you can't go back to pick them up if you miss them. At least they had the decency of putting the last checkpoint in a place where you can still grab them. Having to shoot at a boss while stuck in a hazardous area isn't a bad idea if it's done well, like Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2, but here they botched the execution. Even though I enjoyed the rest of the game, I won't be coming back for the alternate timeline. I'd rather leave it at that and move to Old Blood.

PS5's SSD is the best thing ever since white bread.

I honestly can deal with those supporting the idea that since games are made with the most common hardware(s) in mind, the two main consoles mounting SSDs will make a difference in gaming in general. Not sure I agree with that, but I can understand their point.

What cracks me up are all the "THEY AREN'T COMMON SSDs! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT UBERSUPERSPECIALMAGIC SSDs THAT WILL REVOLUTIONIZE THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!!!11" takes that I'm reading way too often. That is hilarious.
