I just found out that Battle Los Angeres was delisted long time ago and out of 120+ people on my friends list, including me, only 7 people own it.

There is a new feature on Steam250: a history of past rankings, for both the top games and the top hidden gems.

Here is Wuppo's, slowly gaining popularity (and thus being less of a hidden gem) over time a year after its release.

This is Among Us, with a small appearance in the top 1000 hidden gems during summer 2019.

this has me wondering, how does ea access work on steam? do you have to run each game inside of origin or does it just authorize your account to play the titles available on steam?
EA Games on Steam that runs on Origin are a separate entry, even on Origin you will need Steam to run them, I purchased Titanfall 2 on Steam and I already had it on Origin, when I download the game and saw that it needed Origin I refunded it, on Origin I had 2 entries for Titanfall 2, one was the normal Origin, I could run it no problem, the second had a Steam logo on the cover and when I run it, it told me to close Origin and start it from Steam, as soon as the refund was processed the Steam entry on Origin vanished.

So I assume it works the same for the EA Play games on Steam, you can run they no problem from Steam but not Origin, as long as you have a license for EA Play, if the license expires, the games get locked.

i wonder if it'll be the same for the ea play games with game pass? would be nice if they ran from the xbox app otherwise i'll probably forget i have them since i never run origin.

I doubt it will run from the Xbox app, they will probably have shortcuts in there, but we will likely have to link Xbox and EA accounts, and that will just give a licence for EA Play on Origin(EA desktop app).

Downunder.
That’s nice then maybe they fixed it, on reddit people were reporting that it was still running after closing the game, I’m dowloading it on my phone so haven’t really checked the pc version
I can confirm that the kernel driver is still running even after I closed the game.

When the game client is running.

When the client is terminated.

It's both not optimal and let's be honest: buying fan favourite franchises that have been multiplat for the longest time is bad.

The difference in third versus first party exclusivity is quiet simple though.

In one you found, produce, develop and invest into a software product to give your consumers a reason to invest into your eco system. You are actively creating something.

In the other you are artificially limiting access to a product that was meant to be broadly available. You are actively taking something away.

For people who'll play Genshin Impact apparently their kernel-level anti-cheat remains running once the game closes so you'll have to create a .bat file or run the console command

Code:
sc stop mhyprot2
as admin (at leats until they fix it)
The fact that they've known about it for months and done nothing makes me think it might not get fixed anytime soon.

Apparently you can't rebind keys, the game has a 60fps lock and a bunch of other issues.
How do you launch with this many issues when the game has been in closed beta for months?

Yeah, the biggest issue is the anti cheat and controller being reset to kb/m on each boot. But other than that, those seem like a nitpick to me. People don't normally trash a game for being capped at 60fps like that. 30fps cap, I understand, but 60fps, really? The game looks amazing while running flawlessly, it's well optimized on PC.

Is Resident Evil Revelations a long game? I finished Hard West and I'm thinking of moving on to Shadowrun Dragonfall but maybe I should play something as a palette cleanser between turn-based goodness.

No. It can get very repetitive toward the end but I wouldn't say long.

Not really, it never overstays its welcome. I enjoyed it both in 3DS and Pc. You won't be disappointed ;)

I dont think it was very long. I found it very enjoyable and can recommend it. I have 12.5 hours on RER on my account but I tend to play my games slow...and often replay them (partially or full). So that number is probably too high.

Hm, really? I never found it repetitive -- the second Revelations had a bunch of drawn-out sections that were boring, but the first one was a pretty tight experience if I remember it correctly. But it's been a while.

I got 9,8 hours on my account, and I only dabbled in the challenge mode after completing the story.

What's the feeling on Mafia Definitive? I've only played Mafia II and I really enjoyed it - am I getting a similar or better thing with the remake of the original?

I started to play Hades yesterday. Been playing a few runs, but have never managers to beat Meg :(
Keep going. Eventually with you getting better at the game and upgrading the mirror, you'll be able to beat her like she's nothing.

I think calling it "well optimized for PC" is a bit of a reach.

It's a game fundamentally built to work on phones and a PS4, so you'd have to actively mess up to make it not run at 60 FPS on a modern PC.
(Especially if you neglect to add meaningful extra options to the PC release in terms of e.g. draw distance which go significantly beyond what you do on other platforms)

One day I should play all these crappy long lost movie tie-in games I own. This, Fast and Furious, Lost, Avatar, R.I.P.D. and the like...
OMG, I need to find my 24: The Game Ps2 DVD. I loved the Keifer Sutherland shouting mini-games. I just found out the game has no PC port.

I'm looking for roguelite games that don't offer traditional roguelikes features such as "die, back to start" but I see so many games mixing both genres that makes my research complicate.
What I seek is some sort of progression that doesn't get nuliified in the moment I die.

If anybody knows games that follow the above criteria, please let me know about them.

Thanks in advance.

Avatar is great and far from crappy. The fact you actually get to pick whether you stay with RDA or defect to Na'vi is awesome. RDA also has some really cool looking armors. There are tons of different weapon types, abilities, vehicles, map conquest (a la San Andreas gang wars) - all that in an open world. It's nothing like the usual "game based on a movie" trash.

I'll check the game out, but honestly, allying with the colonizers is a major no for me and something I want to avoid doing in games where possible :p

You can side with Na'vi then. That's why I like the game - you get to pick your side, unlike the move where it's predictable that the good guys will win no matter the odds. At least Avatar was somewhat plausible with how it happened, unlike some movies (looking at you, The Rise of Skywalker).

I feel that controller wise it's like that since Japan seemed to be their main target (well one of them) and they even seemed to have commercials for the game there and stuff.

i just got an email that y7 would be delivered here early, glad to see that is for every platform!

edit: almost every platform

not like yakuza series is some graphical showpiece so the ps4 version should be fine on ps5

Below had a patch that included a mode where you can continue where you died.
Heat Signature is not as clear but every pilot you use will unlock new stars that will stay unlocked after you die, you just need to pick a new pilot and continue doing missions.

There aren't many games that follow that criteria, it was interesting to check how many in my library would be good candidates :p
