New week, new thread! What are you playing?

I finally return to FFXVI. One eikon power left to get so I have probably reached the climax of the main story. Side stories and characters are nice. But the main story and gameplay loop... :confused-face: I will definitely finish it though.

slowly playing through the first Suikoden, about 6 hours or so in now and enjoying it enough that i'll finish it but there's enough annoyances between stuff like the inventory system and how annoying backtracking can be that i've still been playing it in pretty short sessions when I do play it

I also finished the first Trails Through Daybreak, the finale was super long so it took me a while to chip away at it a bit here and there but I wanted to finish it before the 20th when the Xenoblade X remaster comes out which I intend to play so glad I did so, will get to the second Daybreak at some point in the nearish future but probably not this month or next month

Still making my way through Avowed . Now in the third (of four, not counting the finale) area and still having a blast with this game. It feels so much like a Pillars game in its story telling and writing, and I'm all here for it. The deep focus on Aedyr and their imperial politics is great, especially how it forces your character to engage with it. You can't really ignore it, and the game makes it pretty compelling to take sides. Do you role play as the fascist underling, crushing all local resistance under your big, shiny boots? Or do you resist, knowing that those you help still distrust you and your own countrymen will at best be confused and worst openly hostile. No one is clapping and cheering you on here. Doing the right thing is a thankless, and often very hard task Great game.

I finished Act II - A of Trails Through Daybreak 2 last week, and hope I can finish the other chapter of Act II this week. So far the mystery is unfolding quite nicely. I am not expecting there to be a huge reveal in the end, this is more like an extended epilogue to the previous game, and it's actually quite good. I get that fans wanted something different back then, but I dig Trails best when it takes things slow, so this all suits me fine. NISA has really gotten quite good with the localisation and to me reached the heights of XSEED, back before they fired most of their stellar translation team.

Finished 3 games last week, The Last of Us Remastered Part 1, Morkredd and Fort Solis. Not sure what I'm up to this week yet. Maybe ReCore, Encased and BG1

Zenless and Judgment.

Zenless just had a big new update and the story has been really, really good. It's also getting extremely dark :sweaty-blob: .
It will never not amuse me how effortlessly it switches between cozy slice-of-life, horny and trauma.
Here we have a 1 minute long animated furry massage video

Immediately followed up on the next day with another animated video about fucked up cloning experiments featuring (graphic) attempted suicide

And I think I'm close to the end in Judgment. Really enjoying it (the story is intense!) but I've accepted that I won't do all the friend events, since some are tied to minigames I don't care about, which means I also won't do the final few side cases that require all the friends.

The Suikoden I half of the remaster is fully finished. Won't play II immediately after as I prefer not to play two similar games one after the other, but I will eventually finish that too

Shining the Holy Ark. It seems pretty decent. Fun simple JRPG dungeon crawling. Not too simple, you have limited inventory, the levels are maze like (but not too bad yet) with some neat mechanics and puzzles here and there. There are a couple things that make no sense, yet at least. There's a repair option in shops and they tell you your stuff gets damaged in battle but I see nothing of the sort and it does nothing when trying it. There's a revive option in the church but any character downed in battle returns to 1 hp after so far so, that does nothing. Maybe there's a difficulty setting I missed somewhere (or forgot about if you only choose it at new game start, I had an old save right after the first town that I picked up again). Other than that I'm having decent fun, just got my 4th party member (all active in combat but I guess you later get more than you can use as there's an option to swap characters) while exploring a spooky mansion.
