just search for docker compose files for whatever you want to installInstalled docker to see about hosting more own stuff... Im so lost lol
Dont even know how to install yet lol, but they do seem to have a good guide on how to do things!just search for docker compose files for whatever you want to install
yeah, it's not too bad really, once you install one thingDont even know how to install yet lol, but they do seem to have a good guide on how to do things!

you don't really need portainer for basic stuffI would have thought it was easier to remote connect to a docker thingie on local lan! I installed portainer as it was said to make it possible to connect with webgui but I still dont understand how it works.
I need some basic tips!XD
you only really need to have docker compose installed (which you most likely already have) docker compose up -d
First thing Im trying to do is being able to remote control it? Is that not possible? Seems like a obvious first step to do on a server.you don't really need portainer for basic stuffyou only really need to have docker compose installed (which you most likely already have)
then you just grab the compose file from whatever you want to install (most of them have one), drop it in a folder somewhere, navigate to it in terminal and
Code:docker compose up -d
tbh i haven't really done that particular part, but as long as you're able to SSH into your linux you should be able to remote control it - it's all done via terminal anywayFirst thing Im trying to do is being able to remote control it? have been for a few years nowThey are on the fediverse already?
My point exactly, the posts you shared were so dramatic and made it sound like it wasnt the case, they could have highlighted those that are already on the fediversehave been for a few years now
this thread is more about local governments (and not just in the EU), not the EU as a wholeMy point exactly, the posts you shared were so dramatic and made it sound like it wasnt the case, they could have highlighted those that are already on the fediverse

Now they have a word processor and spreadsheet app, I might be able to switch over to them as my daily driver.
I’ll need to assess it and see how it looks.
meanwhile nextcloud ... (which also has all the document editors, AND an email client, lol)Hmm.. Is it smart to put all your eggs in one basket?
I see they have added Crypto Wallet and Ai as well since last time i checked them out.. ugh
Still no linux drive app. i dont think they care much for their linux customers.
I tried self-hosted productivity solutions and it was a frustrating experience that I couldn’t get working. So I’ve passed on Nextcloud. The UI is also shit.Hmm.. Is it smart to put all your eggs in one basket?

couldn't agree moreI've always found it absolutely ludicrous that any official public institution would communicate through a privately-owned channel.
That isn't OK even if it is privately owned by a company in the same country. Having it privately owned by a mega-corporation in another country is completely beyond the pale.
This is so important that I actually think there should be laws against it.
there really are no reasons NOT to do itHell I even think its weird that more companies just dont run their own mastodon instance
The neoliberal idea of public-private partnerships is inherently broken in almost every aspect.I've always found it absolutely ludicrous that any official public institution would communicate through a privately-owned channel.

Ooh, I also need to look into these. I don't use google sheets much, but replacing my game count tracking with non-google shit has been on my todo list for a while.Proton are making moves into the productivity space with their spreadsheet app.
