Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Phobia Game Studio (devs of By the devs of BUTCHER ) have announced “reverse horror game” Carrion for consoles and PC. It will launch in 2020.

CARRION is a reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origin. Stalk and consume those that imprisoned you to spread fear and panic throughout the facility. Grow and evolve as you tear down this prison and acquire more and more devastating abilities on the path to retribution.

This is shaping up to be much more interesting to me than i thought it would be.
There was a great video they made a while ago showing the work they had to do to get the idea for the beast working as they wanted it to. I'll see if i can find it again.

downloaded this from game pass and beat it today. it's a pretty short one, about 4-5 hours but really neat. definitely more of a puzzle type game than i expected but they give you a few different ways to complete most encounters. i think i'll pop back in tomorrow to get the last two optional achievements but i really did enjoy it.

fully recommended, but if you are a "time to money" conscious type i might not spend the $20 on it and opt for a game pass version instead.

Bumping this thread because this game needs more attention

It's the kind of indie game that can spawn copycats that would create paradigm shifts in the gaming industry.

I can't recall another game that allows you to play as "the villain" unapologetically, and it's not mediocre.

Sea Salt has the same concept, but haven't played it (it's in my backlog).
