In response to a random twitter poster:

@therealcliffyb @lawbreakers You all won't refund players who stuck with you all and spent money for you all to keep up the content. Cliff I looked up to you during the gears of war days and sad to see you where you are at. Wish you'd come back. Now all that money is waisted.

(y) good response to that terrible tweet

also couldn't fit enough characters in the thread title :p

Good gesture on his behalf to pay his employees what they were due. However, my sympathy runs very thin with Cliff B.

Afterall, he did create a video game studio that attempted to jump on two popular bandwagons, and failed spectacularly. He had a blank slate to create whatever he desired, without any overheads dictating what could/couldn't be used. Instead the studo created a MOBA and Fortnite clone.

Well good on him for reaching into his pocket to pay his employees (if he did) that is a lot more than most would do!

I'm not a fan of the guy, but ultimately any time a business closes its doors it's a tough time for all involved, and someone is bound to be unhappy. Looks like he made some kind of gesture to look after his staff, although who knows what that really was, but the real question was why he really felt compelled to bother replying to that tweet in the first place. Buying a multiplayer game is always going to have a popularity related risk.

Canada... eh?
Oh he paid from his own pocket? Well then that's something. Thought the money was taken from the liquidated company.
Yeah. Payouts would have been made with the companies remaining assets prior to shuttering.
It's likely why he only paid people that had worked for the company since the beginning, a few weeks of severance..

His sob story about no pay cheque is a little comical, because I'm sure he didn't pay out of pocket for his PR tour, and he would have had a ton of money from the Epic days, given his placement with the company.
