Do you guys have mods that you love?

For myself, it would have to be the assassinations and businesses mod for gta 4. Once you beat the storyline in 4, there was not much you can do besides finishing up side jobs and you had so much money but really couldn't spend it on much. the assassination mods and businesses mods fix this IMO.

The assassination mod is self explanatory, it sends you to different locations in liberty city to assassinate someone.. Sometimes you'll need to kill someone wearing a suit, sometimes you'll need a LSD outfit for an extra money bonus. The methods of execution could be different as well and some hits have an added objective like destroying their car as well. It's not too in depth but fun for what's there.

Then there's the business mod which is a step up to businesses in V. you can do oddjobs for some of these businesses like delivering food, running protection, stealing oil, removing waste. you buy a business and it will naturally generate revenue with some generating money faster then other places. The higher the cost, the more you can earn from it. You can hire employees, your place can get robbed(can be turned off), people can attack your store(also an option to turn off, and your employees could leave you. the best part? no one is calling you, the boss, to do mundane crap like covering for a missing driver. I mean the mundane stuff like that is in there for sure but you can choose to not do it and not be penalized for it.

how about it, metafolks, got a favorite mod or two?

I know only two mods, Project M for Brawl where it enchances the gameplay and the GTA 5 roleplay mod. Project M basically changes the entire game and make it much more faster, adds new stages and new moves just so they make it closer to melee. I've never personally played the roleplay mod but I saw a couple videos and it's pretty funny at times. Any mod where they experiment with the mechanics or gameplay is great to me.

There are just too many of them, lol.

But if I consider the amount of content added and how polished it is, Enderal is definitely up there. It's basically a whole new game in Skyrim engine.

I prefer to play my games vanilla. Texture mods are tempting, but aged graphics have their charm, and I respect the creators' original intent.

My favorite mod of all time was Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942.
Desert Combat was so so good. That's one I miss playing quite a bit.

For me overhaul mods are some of my favorites. I usually save them for a second run through, but some of the ones for the STALKER series come to mind. Sadly I don't remember the exact names of the mods. They do everything from unlocking hidden/unused content and bumping difficulty to complete texture reworks.

And of course dumb and goofy mods are always good for an easy laugh for a little while. Like the Randy Savage dragons in Skyrim or more recently some of the RE2 Remake Mr. X mods. But those are I've wrung everything I can out of this game and I'm about to uninstall it type of deal.

The "ghost mode" mod for The Witcher 3 is amazing. It fixes many issues with combat, lore and quests. The same modder also has mods to automatically hide UI elements and to improve the inventory.

For FF XIII-2

Console Content PatchLink

This restores and unlocks all DLC normally unavailable in-game due to copyright and licensing issues. It also adds Serah's FFXIII outfit as a bonus.

Leviathan's Tears ModLink

The PC version's rain has broken translucency. This replaces it with parameters for a higher resolution version of the original PS3's rain textures.

For NieR Automata, the HD texture pack.

For Final Fantasy IX

Do ReShade and Special-K count cuz I use those a lot. On almost every game that can support them tbh.

Downunder.
Far too many to mention! But I can pick 3 (semi)randomly.

Big World Project

Basically combining Baldur's Gate trilogy into one massive game, including community mods, fan scenarios and much more.

GeDoSaTo

I used this a lot before the advent of DSR. A superb tool made by a member of our own forum.

SpecialK

Super useful to iron out frame pacing and xinput issues. I install this for almost every game.

Long War for XCOM: Enemy Unknown
Misery for STALKER
Quake 3 CPMA
Daikatana Fan Patch (it's good now... really!)
Team Fortress and Counter Strike as well.
Civ 5 Vox populi mod.

And throw a few hundred Doom mods and wads for good measure. Just to reference one - Adventures of Square: Episode 2 was one of my favorite things of last year.

I only really get into MP mods. I've been playing Battle Royale since the alpha mods of Arma 2 like DayZ and BR. MP genres seem to just spawn out of mods like that.

Misery for STALKER
KungFu mods for Max Payne 1 and 2
Goldeneye Source (but I worked with the team on that so I'm biased)
Minvera:Metastasis, Black Mesa, the original Stanley Parable mod, the original Dino D-Day mod before it was a full game.
-so many for HL2 I can't even think of most of the names
Paranoia and They Hunger for Half Life were amazingly intense

If we can accept mutators in UT - Strangelove will always be my favourite - ride the redeemer around the map like Kong in Dr Strangelove.

being honest probs the Titan Quest mod i made myself purely because i customized it to what i really wanted from a arpg on top of a game i already loved. it took me 2 years to fully get down everything right but the general changes were these.

ocompletey overhauled damage calucaltions, in the anniversary update they pushed it severely impoacted physical damage builds due to a hidden mechanic of % chance you may hit arm leg torso which all do different damage amounts, compared to poison pierece and magic dmg it really just made physical builds harder, so i completey recaluclated damage for hero and for monsters.

made it so purple items are now green items and role suffixes and affixes like thundering of annihilation or etc. my main concern in the normal game was how green items or yellow could be better than sets etc due to being able to put charms and relics on them. doing this change also made the game harder because monsters if they hold a legendary they will screw you up :D

overhauled skill trees so the side bar unlocks all skills 12 points into it but goes up 64 points max not 32. also increased base stats the side bar grants per point,

overhauled stat distribution so points into health or str etc grant more per point.

increased monster denesity by around 2x and made every boss have up to 3 spawns.

made majestic/boss chests actually worthwhile and only drop green and above loot.

and because im evil made toxeus the murderer spawn chance hider and gave him a spawn point on olympus before typhon

I liked it when I could use my own custom music in DBFZ. Fuckin' EAC and Namco.
