Still happy that they are coming.

Really need to play the originals in preparation for this. Had them for so long and not played them.

Might even be able to complete them before these are released.

With them being end of 2022/2023 I'll probably just play the Geofront versions after all once DLSite has a sale.

Welp, was hoping that NISA would skip Crossbell, Kuro is gonna be a 2024 title then.

Can’t complain overall but I’m probably gonna go with Clouded Leopard for Hajimari then.

I'd download those TL patches now if I were you.
Oh, I've prepared everything already when Azure released. Just need to buy the games and I'm good to go whenever.
Although thinking about I'm really not in a hurry, so maybe I'll just wait. Will have to see.

Thanks Tim.

Happy for the people who haven't played Crossbell yet (including me who's still working on Zero). Maybe i'll just finish Zero whenever, then wait till Azure has an official drop. I'm already a bit tired of exploring Crossbell City so a sizeable break between the two wouldn't be the end of the world.

For now, I'll keep the two OTs open, although I'll edit the OP and remove the download links a bit later since they're already unavailable as we speak.

Once the official release is out, I'll create a new OT and lock the originals.

This is awesome! I own all the Falcom games that are released on Steam, but so far I've only played the Ys series (except for 7, Celceta, 8, and 9). Looking forward to getting these and then starting the Trails series once and for all.

You're in for a treat. If you want to avoid any long waiting times, it would probably make sense to hold of until 2022. This thread from Kvik has a great guide on the release order of the games: |OT| - The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure / 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡 | Geofront's Localisation Patch | Blue is the Warmest Colour | v1.0.1 Out NOW!

I just remembered that back in 2017 (?) Joyoland tried to put the crossbell games on steam through greenlight, and people thought that would be the closest we'd ever get to be able to purchase the games (since back then there was no practical way to buy those version).
We've come a long way since then.

Wait WHAT? They are releasing Nayuta in the west but NOT translating it? This is just a re-release of the Japanese version?????
WILD. Why on earth would they do that??? Seems like a massive waste of marketing push just to get the entire English speaking audience confused? Such a weird move.

Seems especially strange, since the Geofront also have a near finished translation of Nayuta, and it seems NISA wasn't interested in using that. . The way they are talking about it, I get the impression they may plan on translating it at a later date, via a patch, but that's just speculation on my part.

Apparently, there's a random group starting a Reverie translation project. I'm kind of curious about it, so I visited its thread.

Skipping NPC dialogue, in a Trails game? Seems like a philosophy I can't get behind on. Feels like they're trying to get ahead of the official release by aiming to release this as quick as possible. Definitely not something I would want to support, personally.

The interesting bit here is the encrypted assets though. Definitely a hurdle as old as time.

Feels really shady to me to release a "translation" when an official localisation by the publisher is already announced, however late. That's the kind of stuff you don't see from respectable fan translation projects. Once an official localisation is announced, you pack your things and ask people to support it.

This seems like a whole lot of wasted effort. Why spend a lot of time on a fantranslation that won't even be complete when there's already an official version announced. Reverie is scheduled for 2023 so in at most 2 years this will be entirely irrelevant (and who knows how long it will take them to even get it out to begin with).
They should focus their expertise on some games that are unlikely to see an english version if they really want to translate something.
Not sure if just some naive fanboys who really can't wait or if there's some ulterior motive (i.e maybe making a quick buck via "donations" or whatever from the ultra-impatient).
I dunno. But that's not how you do this.

FYI, this Steam version (i.e. the same package) will eventually also get the English translation, it's just a matter of that not being ready yet.

Also, it's fun to work on this game, since gameplay-wise it's not too far from the Felghana/Origin-era Ys games which I really enjoyed.

Hell yeah. That's a great way to do these and not force people to double dip.
