It's really interesting to see the shift between Halo Wars and this. Previously, MS was shoehorning PC favorite genres onto consoles and sometimes porting them back to PC. With this, they're taking the reigns again and trying to craft experiences for their classic PC audience, with a focus on M+KB controls and the like. EA seem to be doing something similar with Command & Conquer.

It looks awesome visually and technically. The PC version is going to be superb once again.

I'm not well versed in the genre but super tempted to pick this up to support such efforts.

looks at HDD section It begins....
It's not something new for a Microsoft game, even for SoT they were suggesting an SSD under certain conditions:

Also for Gears 5 now that I'm thinking about it:

I've played Gears 5 on a mechanical SSHD Seagate drive and no issues whatsoever. I'm only playing at 60fps though, I imagine I could easily get I/O bottlenecked if I aimed for 100+fps.

Meanwhile, The Outer Worlds and Star Wars the Fallen Order hitch quite frequently even on a modern Samsung sata SSD....Capping the framerate does not improve things much.
