The Iciest Hole
Icy is an RPG/Tactic/Choose your own adventure type of survival game set on an after apocalypse earth were everything is frozen over and it's generally gloomy.

You start by creating an amnesiac tribesman adding skillpoints to various values that determine combat, how well you salvage, find stuff and succeed on skill checks. Generally I found that putting your points in one combat skill works the best since you end up using one weapon only since you spread out your other weapons to your other tribesmen.

The game itself begins by introducing you to the world as an amnesiac part of a wondering herd of humans trying to find their way south to safety from pillaging marauders. The tutorial bit is decent and not too long giving you enough information on to how things work and how you trek around the map and loot places. The traversal works on an top down map that has points of interest in them and you choose where to go and what to loot there. Sometimes these places give you multiple choice mini-adventures that you succeed or fail by either using skills or equipment and sometimes there are threats you have to fight using a combat mechanic that is rather nice, you get to use skills that you gain from equipment, the standard skillset and usable items such as grenades.

The combat system works by using skills (Three tiers of skill levels giving more aid/damage Bronze tier, Silver tier and Gold tier) that you use in conjunction with other skills in order to either attack, boost or de-buff the enemies. I.e Stealth+Aim+Shoot combos in to a hidden sniper that attacks enemies while eating away their morale. There are plenty of combos there to be found and outside of the slightly slow pace of the fights they are pretty fun to do.

There's a crafting system too that makes do with what you find in the environment and you can get pretty decent stuff using it solely if you buy the necessary blueprints from vendors that are situated in settlements. Basically it's item+item and you get something that you can still combine in to something making it a better tier stuff. Pretty basic.

Overall I've enjoyed my time with the game and since it's relatively cheap I recommend it.

This game has been sitting on my library for quite some time, I always think about installing it to give it a try but I get distracted by some other games.
