It would be one thing if one could over level and have easier time, but if reflexes are needed either way it will still be hard.

Like I managed to beat Elden Ring with all the bosses as an old person, thats because I could over level to make it easier for me. But with CO no matter what I would still have huge problems with any enemy, since the game IS designed with parry in mind since majority of damage dealt comes from it.

Not true. Parry can be ignored and your level does matter. The higher your stats the more hits you can tank when you fail to dodge.
You can also configure your pictos/lumina and weapons to do literally millions of damage in a single hit, which allows you to dispatch enemies quickly without ever parrying a single attack.

Thanks for your answer. I'm not going to try to sway your opinions, each of us has their own and there's usually no right or wrong ones, but I'll just say that I wholeheartedly disagree with pretty much everything you say and how you present it.

My favorite game of all time is PS:T and it is that way because of it's narrative and characters and how intertwined and tightly knit both of them are to created a unique setting and story. It might be recency bias or current hype but I personally would put COE33 story right after PS:T when listing the best narratives in video games ever.

As for the EMOTIONS, yeah that's what they went for and they nailed it. Granted it probably only works if you're open enough to feel those feelings or if the game's motifs and subjects mimic some of your personal experiences, but for me, and it seems for a lot of people out there, they hit like a truck.

I also disagree with the assessment that it's unearned and that the character's and setting are shallow. I think the main reason you might say that is because the game isn't verbose about it, doesn't hit on the head repeatedly with explanations of how each characters feels or what their intentions are. Their actions say all there is to know about each one's intentions and their personality. It's the basic principle of all the greatest stories ever told - show, don't tell. It's not just what's being said, it's especially how it's said and the non-verbal communication (props to all motion capture actors and animation engineers).

Just to give an example of what I'm saying, when Verso first visits your camp the first shot is from within the Curator's cave and shows him stopping mid-walk and looking attentively at him. Without a single word being spoken a lot of lore and context is dumped upon the player, even if they don't understand it quite yet at that point. That's genius storytelling and the game is filled with those kinds and little nuggets.

I also find extremely disingenuous to say the characters don't grow and have no story arcs. Are you really going to say that Lune, Sciel or Maelle's act 3 personas are the same as act 1? How the whole story and events didn't reshape them, for better or worse?

Again, not trying to change your mind, just trying to frame everything and to understand your point-of-view.

It's the polar opposite of Planescape: Torment or Disco Elysium, games that thrive almost exclusively on writing and not at all on presentation.

It's not like i didn't had one too many people die on me, i just don't think the game handled the theme well in any meaningful way. It's a shallow take that merely elicits faux emotions through its big, swelling presentation like the music, in the same way David Cage games so. Take the presentation aside and you are left with nothing.

As for the characters. I wouldn't know! Neither Lune or Sciel get to have any screentime at all in Act 3 afterall, like that's the whole problem. I just looked up a youtube upload, as the story continues, they get to exist less and less as a part of it and are entirely absent in Act 3. At the end of Act 1, they are literally shoved aside for the Renoir/Gustave confrontation, to avoid having to actually write them into the story, something the devs clearly didn't care to do.

Is this website grey/black market bullshit? That's a really good price for Stellar Blade. Since I refunded Nightreign, I do have that money back and I could spend that on it.
