Nioh 2 - The Complete Edition

The Steam release of Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition will offer players the best way to experience violent Sengoku-era Japan and the deadly Dark Realm on their PCs, as they unleash devastating attacks against plagues of merciless demons as a half-human, half-supernatural yokai warrior. The game will be playable with crystal clear 4K Ultra-HD support, alongside ultra wide-screen compatibility, HDR monitor support and 144Hz monitor support, with silky-smooth gameplay at a consistent 120 frames per second on compatible systems. Combined with full mouse and keyboard customization support, and gamepad compatibility, Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition is the most definitive version of the title available to date.

UNLEASH YOUR DARKNESS

Experience the thrill of taking on hordes of fearsome yokai in a battle to the death in this brutal masocore Action RPG. Create your own original protagonist and embark on an adventure that will take you through devastated locales across Japan during the Sengoku period.

Much like the previous title which garnered much praise from fans and critics alike, Nioh 2 contains an original profound story surrounding military commanders from the Sengoku period. However, Nioh 2 goes above and beyond its predecessor by including the new Yokai Shift ability which allows the protagonist to utilize new powerful forms to defeat even the most formidable yokai in battle. New to Nioh 2, your enemies can now create a Dark Realm which raises the stakes of battle and creates new challenges for your protagonist to overcome. We hope you enjoy conquering fearsome monsters as you unleash your darkness in the world of Nioh 2.

Included Content:
Nioh 2: Complete Edition includes all of the content from Nioh 2 along with all 3 DLC expansions, The Tengu’s Disciple, Darkness in the Capital, and The First Samurai.

◆ The Tengu’s Disciple
The Tengu’s Disciple takes the protagonist to the end of the Heian period, where the Genji and Heike clans were competing ruthlessly with one another. Experience the battle that acts as a prologue which reveals how the story of Nioh 2 came to be.

◆ Darkness in the Capital
Darkness in the Capital takes place during the middle of the Heian period, a point in history where evil spirits and yokai ran rampant throughout Japan. The protagonist is brought back to this period and ventures to the capital where they will uncover the connections between an even more distant past and the present time period from which they came.

◆ The First Samurai
The First Samurai brings the protagonist to the Suzuka Pass during the beginning of the Heian period. In the climactic 3rd expansion of the Nioh 2 saga, the protagonist will once again confront their arch-nemesis, Otakemaru.

Ultrawide and high refresh support out of the box this time, nice. I hadn't read about that before, that's a neat upgrade over the first one.

Man, I can't wait. Still working on my way to 100% the first one, which will take a while I think, but I just can't get enough of the gameplay. :blobevening:

Been absolutely loving this game. Only thing is I am struggling to find what weapon to stick with, as I just finished Nioh 1 with kusarigama so I am staying away from that as it will seem to similar.

Another thing, I see on a different forum that some people say it is a terrible port but I have not encountered anything that makes me think this at all.

I still enjoy the game and like the additions they put in over the first game. Loot system is still shit though. And maybe a year wasn't enough time for me to pause between games but I am at a point where I thought "I think I am done with this for now" a few times because I still have the first one on my mind. I will keep at it because there are instances where I am immensly enjoying it. Mostly the main missions.
At a point where I summon a phantom to do side missions

It still doesn't have button prompts for mouse/keyboard, a few weird slowdowns with effects on high (much better thanks to the last patch) and is missing "pc graphics options" like draw distance. It only supports a few select 21:9 resolutions outside of 16:9 and modders found out that the UI is mostly done with fixed pixel offsets anchored all over the place and can't easily be fixed for other resolutions. That's not a long list and nothing serious so i'd agree with not bad overall and (with a good pc) the best way to play the game.

What might lead to some complaints too is the game having trouble sticking to triple digit fps on systems that should easily achieve such (compared to how the game runs otherwise), but that's the same on PS5 and is probably some bottleneck in the engine and not a fault of the port.
