News [RUMOR] Puyo Puyo Champions releasing this May on Switch, PS4 and Steam

May may be the digital ver. release date, as Japan is getting a retail ver. that's scheduled for June

The retail ver. is set for 2,000 Yen or so, so the game will be sold for $15-20 range I think.

eSports has an MSRP around 2000 yen but since launch it's been on sale for 500 yen more than half the time! Wonder if the same will hold true of the localization.

Part of me really wants to give this a shot if/when it hits Steam even though I struggled with the Puyo parts of Puyo Puyo Tetris.

I didn't have the experience of playing stuff like Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine growing up, so watching or reading guides left me wondering what sorcery did I just witness.

I get slaughtered competitively since the people I generally use Puyo against are staunch Tetris > Puyo types. I'll probably buy in.

The name change makes sense. Most people outside of Ajppan don't associate Puyo with, well, anything, much less E-Sports.
I'll probably miss this because I am bad at Puyo.
