Star Wars: Squadron,w a new game in the Star Wars franchise, is developed by Electronic Arts subsidiary Motive Studios and is the official title of Star Wars: Project Maverick, the existence of which leaked via PlayStation Network in March.

According to VentureBeat, citing sources familiar with the game’s production, Star Wars: Squadrons is an aerial and space combat game about piloting ships in head-to-head battles. It includes a single-player campaign, but the main focus is team-based multiplayer. It is reportedly planned for release on consoles and PC this fall.

Hasn't been a good star wars space/flight sim in a long, looooong time - game has a lot to live up to, though it also look like it might be influenced a bit by Rebel Assault as well. It's a weird time to be a Star Wars fan.

I'm absolutely dying for a VR game like this. And of course I'm dying for something as quality as Tie Fighter, X-Wing, or even Rouge Squadron II...

I think the VR will make this worthwhile even if it's not amazing.

I just kind of don't see why there are so few examples of games of the quality of Tie Fighter, and it's really on the mission design. Just think up some cool missions damn it!
