I guess all the populars like Mario, Kart, Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, will be getting sequels (dunno if they'll be shown though, Mario for sure I guess). I'm hoping they show off new IP or sequels to less popular relatively new IP like ARMS (and Kid Icarus). Would love to see a sequel and fresh new games of the sort. Don't really care to see the enhancements for Switch games. Prime 4 looks great and is 60fps already, unless it's a complete visual overhaul (it won't be, duh). Same for all the ports of games Switch just couldn't have (which will likely still need some downgrades, but that's okay). Not that I dislike them but they're just expected, of course great to have for folks that get the system just as they're great to have for folks getting a Deck or whatever. Maybe the next Monolith game, it's been a while (also Zelda since TOTK was so heavily based on BOTW). I wonder if it will be Xenoblade again or all new, or new but similar in its style and vibe. I wonder what game they'll show the mouse functions with, an FPS-esque game or something like Mario Maker? I wish it had good motion tracking to be Wii 2.

Might be cool to see Microsoft support for Bethesda and id games, if it can run the new Doom reasonably (no worse than Switch ran Doom 2016 but without it needing the comprehensive effort of a miracle port project, making it easier to achieve that quality with changing settings and a bit of optimisation) that's great..!

I also wonder if they'll ditch Switch right away (reasonable time frame with no new big games after Pokemon/Prime leading to sales plummeting and Switch 2 becoming the dominant and viable platform relatively quickly) or try and see if they can still sell software on it. The purpose of a console is to be in the hands of consumers they can sell software to and Switch definitely achieved that even if hardware sales went to 0 tomorrow. But is there a way to keep it alive without hamstringing its successor (like Prime, most would be content with a great Switch version even if it's got better settings on 2)? Would people even respond to such an attempt? I guess they could try it, like DS was to be a "3rd pillar" but then dominated so the next Game Boy never needed to happen, similarly they could be making games crossgen but if the effort isn't worth it drop the Switch versions and pretend they never existed (if not announced until near the release). If it does work and software keeps selling it's probably good for continued success until Switch 2 has enough of an install base to support them and 3rd parties.

You made most all the realistic predictions, but I'm going to go a bit off the wall and say Microsoft will get a dedicated sizzle reel that shows off their multiplatform games including Halo/Forza/Doom the Dark Ages.

Edit: Call of Duty will 100% show up as well (forgot they're contractually obligated to release this one lol).

And also Half-Life 3 will appear. It has as much of a chance as Silksong.

Just a lazy prediction..

= New 3D Mario
= New big remake of some old ip (Pokemon, Mario Etc)
- Zelda tease but no title or gameplay
= They'll do something for DS and 3DS games. Don't know what but if Switch 2 screen is big enough they'll just emulate them lol. It works great on Deck so..

-Strong presence from Capcom and Square. Expecting both RE and FF.
-Elden Ring and Cyberpunk and BG3
-Some big Ubisoft game
-Big Xbox or Bethesda game of some kind. Wouldn't surprise me if its Oblivion or Fallout.
-Metal Gear Master Collection Vol. 2 :sneaky:

No Silksong

-429$ launch price with some special edition 500$ bundle that includes game

I may be wrong, but I remember Ninty dedicated a few minutes for 3DS games during the early days of Switch. They will probably still release some games for Switch 1. Rhythm Heaven is releasing in 2026, and we still have rumors of Fire Emblem remake or Zelda HD, so they may not put all the eggs into the new basket yet.

Yeah, definitely something from MS. Not sure about Half-Life 3 though. Gaben still haven't revealed Deadlock yet, so I kinda believed Valve may do a game showcase announcing these two games on their own.

They're going to increase the price of online access from $20 a year to at least $40 and possibly $50. The premium tier will be at least $60. I don't expect the family plan to survive but if it does it'll be expensive.

I expect the Direct will be dominated by third party games. There will be big names like call of duty, baldurs gate 3, elden ring and so on but I'm interested to see what new third party games get announced.

On the first party front, I just want a good animal crossing game. The last one had so many flaws but the biggest problem was that the villagers had no personality. I hope they make a better game and they release it early on in the life cycle of the system.

I had originally planned to wait for a few first party games that I'm interested in to appear before buying the machine but honestly I have so many switch 1 games unplayed that I essentially have a huge starting library already. I'll probably pick up one a little while after launch.

I might be persuaded to buy the new unit at launch only if there's a Monolithsoft or Intelligence Systems game as a part of the launch titles.

Or if there's a hardware hack.

Whichever comes first. :flare_lmao:

Direct confirmed to be about 60 mins in length, and Treehouse live on Apr 3rd and 4th.

So, less than 24 hours to go. Give me your wildest dreams.

Mine? Xenosaga remake. Super Mario RPG 2. Dragon Quest XII.

Wildest dreams? Well I got SRW already last week so I really don't know what to ask for at this point
But if there is one thing I would love to see again, something that completely skipped the Switch, then I do have one dream:
Its latest name was Project X Zone on 3DS, but before that is was called Namco x Capcom on PS2, and Endless Frontier on DS. My dream is seeing that "world" again. The closest thing to a "videogame SRW". But unfortunately Monolith has been way too busy this gen, and honestly I don't think Bamco is interested in making full exclusives in 2025. There is also the possibility Nintendo doesn't want to waste Monolith's time on something like that, especially with how long dev times are becoming
But this is what I want to see the most. Yeah sure, Mario, Zelda, Smash. These are good games that will happen regardless. But me, I just want to see them one more time
