Steam blog post from Durante about the returning features, new features, and letting players shoot themselves in the foot:

2025 (and 2026 up to now) was a really bad period for my own personal Trails completion percentage.
It was at its best before Daybreak II was released -- at that point I was ~3/4 done with Reverie, and therefore decently close to being caught up with the English releases in general. Now Daybreak II and Horizon are out, and I'm still ~3/4 done with Reverie :P

i'm 50ish hours into this now and keep finding myself booting it up and playing till I feel tired and looking and seeing like 4 hours passed

act 1 was pretty slow and long so I didn't really get into it for a while but it's crazy how much more it's clicking for me than the other Daybreak games have, a lot of it is the main story feeling a lot more interesting but it's also kind of....everything

everything just feels better from the combat system(especially field attacks which feel a lot less boring now just from sheer amount of mechanics) to the wandering around talking to people bits(for a lot of reasons like the 3 distinct story routes in different areas, caring more about the npcs stories after multiple games of getting to know them, the game being smart about throwing little twists into those once in a while in the form of different characters being around to help them feel more fresh etc), even the garten while I still don't love it doesn't really actively annoy me anymore between stuff like there being more story to it, me liking the combat more in general, floors being a lot shorter if you avoid pathing to many doors etc(plus I bought the deluxe edition since it was only like 5 bucks more with launch sales than buying the base version would have been and that came with a dlc that lets me blast silver will while wandering around in there which is fun)

definitely night and day from how I felt playing through daybreak 2s worst bits a month or two ago(I stopped playing for a while after fragments because of how everyone talked about act 3 and finished it recently)

Had to necro this thread after beating the game tonight. HOT DAMN.

This has to be one of the wildest swings in a gaming property that I can think of. Saying that all of Zemuria has been replaying the last 1200 years? Though unclear if that's exactly what has been going on or if there's some fuckery shortening the loops. Confirmation that MULTIPLE major characters have been from alternate loops all along, and explaining why they referenced things we've never seen before now. Its incredibly ambitious. It explains artifacts, the rate of tech acceleration, the weird text blurring, SO MANY THINGS. I wonder how far back this twist was planned. Certainly since Daybreak, but maybe the middle of Cold Steel? Hard to believe it was this plot device in 2004 on the PSP or whatever, but even if it was like a light sketch to keep to the overall mystery this long and have so many things line up lore-wise is why the Kiseki series is so special. Its an unbelieveable set of characters, places and people to keep straight for 15 games and counting. There really is nothing like it in video games.
