I believe this is using Unity? Or that was the plan before it was suspended. Telltale suffered for years because their engine was kind of awful, but the head of the studio refused to let them change it. A lot of stuff people take for granted, like physics, had to be done by hand. A character drops a ball? Enjoy hand-animating that ball falling, bouncing, rolling. It's a miracle the company's games turned out as well as they did, and managed to improve within the constraints of the engine.
