A team of heroes from around the world must UNITE to protect the earth from vicious alien invaders! This band of 100 Wonderful Ones works together using their fantastic abilities to create a variety of forms. Whether it be a giant fist or a sharp blade, they’ll use their wits and power to overcome the enemy’s pitfalls and perils! And the final member of this team of courageous heroes—is you.

From PlatinumGames, creators of the Bayonetta series, ASTRAL CHAIN, NieR:Automata, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, comes The Wonderful 101: Remastered! This game will be PlatinumGames' first self-published title, and is a powered-up version of The Wonderful 101, originally released by Nintendo on September 15th, 2013 as a Wii U exclusive.

The Wonderful 101: Remastered offers the unprecedented ability to control 100 heroes at once, with the flowing controls and dynamic action that are the PlatinumGames hallmark. It’s all brought together by a pulse pounding tale of heroic bravery and friendship standing tall against evil, and is PlatinumGames’ most ambitious offering to date.

Hideki Kamiya, director of The Wonderful 101, has supervised this remaster and added numerous improvements to ensure that this game can be more easily and thoroughly enjoyed by all and on various platforms, and with improved visuals, framerate, and loading time for an enhanced experience on all fronts.

- Over 100 unique and dazzling, each with their own backstories and emblems!
- Change weapons in a flash with the “Unite Morph” system! Draw shapes to switch between swords, whips, hammers, and more to battle with strategy and flair!
- Unite Morphs can be more than just weapons! Build hang gliders and bridges to cross chasms, and bounce and blast your way to great heights! Use your smarts as well as your strength to solve puzzles and persevere!
- Don’t forget—a hero’s true calling is protection! Rescue the citizens you come across and your bravery will inspire them to UNITE UP! For a limited time, of course.
- Your missions will take around the world! Through cities, across the ocean floor, deep in the jungle, and to a host of exciting locations!

The Wonderful 101 is a “Unite Action” action-adventure game developed by PlatinumGames Inc., directed by action game luminary Hideki Kamiya, and originally released on the Nintendo Wii U.

In this game, players take control of the Wonderful Ones, heroes from all over the world chosen to defend the Earth from all manner extraterrestrial threats! When the peaceful Blossom City comes under attack by alien invaders, Wonder-Red, Wonder-Blue, and the rest of the Wonderful Ones suit up and unite to save the world!

The Wonderful 101: Remastered will be released on Nintendo Switch, with versions for other platforms becoming available via stretch goals. We also plan to add a host of amazing extras as stretch goals are met, with the goal of making The Wonderful 101: Remastered the definitive depiction of our heroes’ exploits!

In a press release, Platinum Games said it will be able to self-publish The Wonderful 101: Remastered, which was originally published by Nintendo, as well as bring the title to other platforms, “thanks to the kindness of Nintendo.”

In a message to supporters, Platinum Games said, “It has been a goal of Platinum Games to own and self-publish the IPs that we create. With your support, we hope that we can make this dream a reality and bring The Wonderful 101: Remastered to a wide variety of platforms and make The Wonderful 101 a part of everyone’s gaming history! This Kickstarter is our chance to UNITE UP, take destiny into our own hands, and bring the best version of The Wonderful 101 to everyone.”

That's nice! A while ago I decided not to back any more games, but I hope it gets enough suckers backers so we can all reap the rewards.

Those are ridiculous numbers. It only takes 50k to remaster and release on switch but then 200k just to port that product to PC? And another 250k for PS4?

If I had to guess, work on the Switch port is already done. And PS4/PC is the real task.

I don't see why porting it needs 200k anyway. 6 developers working full time for 365 days for $3333/month?

Adjust for more people, less time, higher wages, less days, accordingly? Crazy.

Edit: my math is way off but my point stands :p

Vice verca, 50K and a release date in two months for switch are really low. Apart from the fact that 50K doesn't even pay a single developer for two months. Especially taking into consideration that kickstarter takes 5% of it too.

Real talk, the port is already in development, likely for a few months and almost done.
They don't need the funding, it's just a preorder scheme to generate more hype

I guess the kickstarter will make more money than the game did when sold. Maybe more than bayonetta when all is said and done, lol. How can this be, it wasn't even their most popular game (yes, Wii U, but come on, games people actually wanted still sold on that system) and all their games are niche though they have been increasing in popularity in recent times due to the RPG collaborations and Bayonetta itself getting a second life thanks to Nintendo. Is it just the hype of a formerly "nintendo exclusive" going multi platform for some people? The hope that if it happens for this game then any other game is fair game too? The way temtem managed to sell so well while being shit just by convincing people it's just like the awesome pokemon or for some better than the outdated clumsy dodgy pokemon? Cool for Platinum, cool for me to get it on PC, just saying, it's weird to see there is such apparent demand for this, of all their games. Cool that Nintendo was gonna fund it but only exclusive and that they also let them have it multiplatform regardless (the QA implies they needed a deal for it).

Never heard of them, why are they awful?
Screwed over the indie devs who made devil engine, did not pay them money and now the expansion is on hold, fight Knight devs had a lot of miscommunication (or non at all) that they stopped working with them, as well as people that got harassed by the former CEO Ben judd. There was a thread here with two articles explaining a lot of details.

Ah, so that's why "controversy" was one of the results on google.

AS much as I'd like to maybe try it on pc, i never did finish it on WiiU, they'd really have to have some value added for me to ignore the shitty publisher involved.

Is Dangen just helping with the PC port? I thought this was self published by Platinum.
