Discussion Totally not E3 2022; Predictions and Dreams

It’s that time of the year. Get excited and tell us your predictions and dreams!

Predictions (No limit): Just fire away!
Dreams (Up to 2): Dreams are dreams because they are precious and often unreachable. I know many of you want Half-Life 3, Knack 3, or Bloodborne PC, but you can’t have everything in life so the same applies here.

Here’s mine. As always, I only include those games that interest me. Honestly I don’t expect many new game announcements. Seems like there would be more updates on announced games.

Nintendo

• Mario and Rabbids 2. Delay to early 2023.
• Xenoblade 3. Trailer 3. I expect a transformable vehicle where the whole crew will move around the world map on it like a mobile base
• New Fire Emblem Echo game (remake of old title). Launching this year.
• Show a new twist of Splatoon 3. Either be story or mechanic.

Microsoft

• Gameplay trailer of Avowed. Releasing early 2023
• Starfield full-blown reveal. Build your own spaceship.
• New acquisitions: Avalanche
• Tales of Arise and Deathloop coming to Game Pass
• Persona 5 Royal coming to Xbox / PC. No Game Pass. Same-day shadow drop.
• New Splinter Cell from Ubisoft. Iconic nightvision shown.
• Update on the 007 game from IOI

Dreams:
Super Mario RPG2.

I have been disappointed with Square Enix as of late, but I do hope we see more releases of their older titles. In particular, I am hoping for a showing of the rumored FF9 remake/remaster. Though I would love something out of left field like Vagrant Story and Xenogears.

Same hopes for Atlus, but I would love to see a few more of their back titles get ported. I would love to hear news of SMTV coming to PC.

Lastly, I really hope NIS remaking Vanillaware's GrimGrimoire adds a PC version and more of Vanillaware's back catalog is announced for porting/remasters. What I would not do for Dragon's Crown, Odin Sphere, and especially, Muramasa to be re-released.

Safe prediction: we get an uncharted 4 release date at PCGaming show
Starfield 12-15 minute section

I will always hope for Persona Royal on PC (xbox too)

I’m expecting mountains of disappointment.

• Silksong release date - This is the year, I'm feeling it! - We didn't get a date, though there was a new trailer
• Forza Horizon 5 Expasion - Edit: lmao it leaked on Steam. source
• Avowed gameplay - There was nothing
• HL Alyx on PS VR2 - There was a showcase of a mod though, and it looked incredible
• NEW HALF LIFE BUT IT WILL NOT BE #3 - lol
• New release date for Starfield - Not a release date, but a gameplay trailer
• FALLOUT NEW VEGAS REMAKE - I'll keep dreaming

Dragon's Dogma 2.

Also, Bayonetta 3 delayed to 2023. Hopefully, we'll get some news on Project GG this year.

Dream: Bloodborne PC !

A bunch of these are kinda predictions, kinda dreams:

-Ace Attorney 4 (4-6?) for PC and consoles (although that's more likely to be a TGS announcement?)
-Persona anniversary announcement is a game but it's neither P3 nor P5.
-Geoff Keighley tells at least two Morbius jokes
-Square announces either FFT or Tactics Ogre (likely none)
-Sky: Children of the Light for PC (and PS4?) shows up at PC Gaming Show
-FF7R for Steam and Xbox, no Gamepass, no sale, still 80 Euro, everyone is shocked.

I don't really have dreams as such. I guess it would be nice if Square decided to port Vagrant Story to modern systems and not fuck it up. And the same with Capcom and Breath of Fire 5. The whole series actually but 5 is the dream.

Predictions:
We'll see P5 Royal on the PC show, finally.
We'll see Sky (thatgamecompany) announced for PC.
Fantasian will be released from its Apple shackles.
Oceanhorn 2 gets a PC date.
Shadows of the Damned and/or Lollipop Chainsaw gets a PC port.
Shadow Hearts had its trademark renewed, so maybe that series is getting some port work.
Konami announced Metal Gear something that's not pachinko.
Symphony of the Night PC port and/or Castlevania DS collection.

Predictions:
-Pentiment will be revealed with a 2022 release date
-Chucklefish shows off Witchbrook and announces a 2023 release date
-Return to Monkey Island is shown in motion and gets a 2022 release date
-Avowed gameplay is shown

Dreams:
-ZA/UM announces their next game
-A new Western MMORPG is announced

Persona 5 Royal PC is a complete no show, Shin Megami Tensei V PC is Atlus' "big game" for this E3 cycle

Silksong shadow dropped on Nintendo Direct, NSW/PC temp exclusive

Witchbrook dated, fall 2022

Microsoft show surprisingly solid, at least one Japanese third party drops a bomb. The 7 "secret" SKUs on the Microsoft store are revealed to be playable vertical slice demos of MS E3 games, one of which is Starfield.

Final Fantasy Tactics & Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together released on PC since iirc they got yeeted out on that Nvidia list but Square was like "NEVER HEARD OF THAT MAN BEFORE IN MY LIFE"

• Shin Sakura Wars (2020) PC Edition
• New Tomb Raider gameplay/story trailer
• Something from Yoko Taro

• BotW2 Story Trailer pls
• New Fire Emblem even if it is a remake

• Activision and Ubisoft come back to Steam (back catalog included)
• Nintendo announces a small portion of early Switch first-party titles are being ported to PC.

Microsoft

• Gameplay trailer of Avowed. Releasing early 2023 Can't believe that they didn't show it.
• Starfield full-blown reveal. Build your own spaceship. YES. Love almost everything I saw except the 1000 planets thing.
• New acquisitions: Avalanche Thank god no acquisition news
• Tales of Arise and Deathloop coming to Game Pass Nope
• Persona 5 Royal coming to Xbox / PC. No Game Pass. Same-day shadow drop. Not a shadow drop, but great news anyway. Also coming to Steam!!!
• New Splinter Cell from Ubisoft. Iconic nightvision shown. Weird that Ubisoft was completely absent from the show
• Update on the 007 game from IOI Ouch

People are saying that Nintendo direct will air on the 29th. Look forward to it.

I had some great predictions tbh. Too bad that only Persona 5 came through.

Though in the new Capcom survey they at least mentions Breath of Fire, so maybe they haven't forgotten that series quite yet. Hope springs eternal.

I didn't do too many predictions
Persona 5 Royal was better than I imagined as three is also coming.
Starfield was around that length

Shocked that Uncharted wasn't anywhere.
