A new Trackmania is racing your way. Announced at the Grand League Finals in Lyon, France, Ubisoft Nadeo took the wraps off its latest project: a remake of the popular Trackmania Nations. The remake will include an official season campaign and daily track selections, along with new track-creation options featuring new surfaces and special blocks.

For those that might not be familiar, what are the core characteristics that define Trackmania, and how are they represented in this new game?
FC:
Trackmania is based on three pillars: First, racing is universal, and progression is fun. Trackmania gameplay should always be intuitive, four arrows only, and allow easy respawn and improvement. In the upcoming game, we added subtle, but deep, gameplay enhancements to help players improve. For example, the ghosts at checkpoints (at every respawn, the players race their best ghost), or that players maintain their velocity when respawning at checkpoints.
Second, it’s a racing game with a track creator, meaning there is a near-endless supply of new tracks. In the upcoming game, we increase the amount of possibilities for creation. New physical surfaces and new "special blocs" can modify the car behavior. For creators who like to share and stream their creations, special effects will also be available. For example, a “slow motion” block placed just before a finish can spice up a show.
Thirdly, the game also offers competitions, from daily and casual ones to international pro-level leagues.

How will the game encourage and foster competition beyond normal races? Will there be an even stronger push for community and company-sponsored tournaments?
FC:
In Trackmania, we will have daily and weekly casual cups, seasonal official campaign rankings, and a Grand League & Open Grand League happening two times a year. Community events and professional tournaments will have easy in-game access and will be advertised on tracks, bringing the fantasy of esports to Trackmania.

Finally, with a lot of live online games, we’re seeing continual updates and ways for teams to keep releasing new types of content to engage players. What can we expect in that regard from Trackmania?
FC:
Historically, Trackmania has always had a large amount of content thanks to our players. However, we noticed that after releasing a game, players rush through the campaign and then stop playing. So we decided to create a seasonal game, with a regular official campaign and one daily track selection among all players submitted and peer-reviewed maps. Additionally, we intend to create regular updates of Trackmania for new seasonal blocks or new features.

Trackmania will be available on Windows PC on May 5.

i am a bit sceptic due to the name and the seemingly limited scope but will probably get it anyway because it's trackmania.
hope it's gonna come to steam!

Trailer lists Epic and Uplay. Gross. Was hoping it would be Maniaplanet

Trackmania is already niche as fuck. Why does Nadeo consistantly insist on fucking over its community and chances of succeeding?

I love trackmania. I have Canyon, Stadium, Lagoon, Valley, Turbo, Nations Forever, you get the idea. Probably medaled in over 100 tracks+. Love 'em.

So..... its a graphical update and more creation tools??

I mean if its free I'll download it like the scab I am.... but is there a point to this remake? Was a remake needed??

TRACKMANIA® DETAILS RACING EXPERIENCES WITH STARTER, STANDARD AND CLUB ACCESS – Trackmania – The ultimate track racing game
Today, Ubisoft announced that Trackmania® will offer players three distinct racing experiences, Starter Access, Standard Access and Club Access. All three versions will be available on Epic Games and Uplay beginning July 1.

“Trackmania is a universal racing game and with three levels of engagement, we aim to fit every player’s gaming preferences. The Starter Access, which is free, is a great foot in the door for new players. The Standard and Club Access will support creation and sharing tools for our more advanced players.” explains Florent Castelnerac, Ubisoft Nadeo Managing Director.
  • Starter Access:
    - Free for players to race solo or multiplayer on quarterly renewed official campaigns, including 25 tracks, allowing players to earn medals and record scores in the regional rankings. Players will be able to enjoy other player’s creations on the Arcade Channel, try various editors (tracks, replays and skins) and map review servers. The weekly Nations League is also available for casual competitions.
  • Standard Access:
    - In addition to the free content, Standard Access expands the content available with player creations, including the “Track of the Day” selection, and full access to replay, track editors and map review servers. Additionally, players can participate in daily competitions and keep every “Track of the Day” and “Official” campaign track. One year of standard access is available for $9.99.
  • Club Access:
    - Including the above, Club Access allows players to join their favorite clubs to access exclusive content and activities such as skin customization, special campaigns, online rooms, training tracks and competitions. They can also create their own club to share their creations and organize events. Players can participate in the Open Grand League, organized by Ubisoft Nadeo, and try to qualify for the Trackmania Grand League. One year of the Club Access is available for $29.99 or three years for $59.99.

Trackmania is available for preorders on Epic Games and Uplay.

[UWSL][UWSL]Frequently Asked Questions[/UWSL][/UWSL]

If I want to upgrade from Standard Access to Club Access before the end of my 1-year period, do I have to pay for a complete access ?
You will have to buy a whole access, but you will be compensated with additional months in your Club Access depending on how many months you had left in your previous access.

Is the game under a subscription model?
It’s more like a sport club license model. If you want to compete or practice regularly, a federation helps to organize the competitions, maintain the infrastructures, and you buy a license in return. It’s the same in Trackmania.

Will I be able to buy official skins or special items in the game?
There is no microtransaction in the game. To acquire custom skins and special customization, you need to join clubs through the Club Access. There is no restrictions in the skins you can get and the clubs you can join.

In the Starter Access, is the map editor available in a light version?
The map editor is complete and will include both simplified, and advanced versions, with both keyboard and gamepad options. You will be able to save one track, and if you want to save another track, it will overwrite your previous creation.

After my access expires, will I lose everything I have earned ?
No, at the end of your period, you keep the official tracks and Tracks of the Day accumulated

I jinxed it didnt I? 🤐
thx Ubi i guess
