The Kingdom of Bohemia (sigh ups for closed beta)

Set in a far corner of space, Valfaris is a heavy metal infused 2D action-platformer and the next game from the team behind Unity Awards finalist, Slain: Back From Hell. Brutal combat. Deadly enemies. Stunning pixel art. Savage soundtrack. Get ready to rip the galaxy a new wormhole.

After mysteriously vanishing from galactic charts, the fortress of Valfaris has suddenly reappeared in the orbit of a dying sun. Once a self-contained paradise, the grandiose citadel now plays host to an ever-growing darkness.

Therion, a fearless and proud son of Valfaris, returns to his home to uncover the truth of its doomed fate and to challenge the arcane evil at its very heart.

I just hope they've improved the gameplay because what i've played from Slain and Valfaris (quite some time ago) just didn't feel all that great.

Slain iu remember being quite a mess on release , not sure how they patched it up myself , but heard good things
I played it recently and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's really challenging though. Generally that's fine and feels fair, but there were 2 or 3 sections I remember that were a huge difficulty spike and were exremely frustrating to the point where I CheatEngined my way through them. (None of the bosses though, the main issue those section had that the checkpoints were way further apart than anywhere else in the game).
I hope that's better in their new game.
