A narrative RPG being developed by Big Bad Wolf, the team behind episodic 18th century mystery The Council—has just announced its name: Swansong.

It's a singleplayer game which gives you control of three different vampires, each a member of a different clan within the Camarilla, the organization who see it as their duty to uphold the secret vampire status quo. "Weaving between their intertwined tales, the player has to confront the different points of view of his characters to unravel fact from fiction. With whispers of conspiracy, murder and power struggles, the player must protect his clan, discover the truth and above all enforce the Masquerade, the vampire law designed to conceal the existence of creatures of the night from humans."

If they're running with a black protagonist as they did with Sophie in Cotaries of New York, then I'll have to relent to EGS. Cotaries is an excellent visual novel, and I gotta support black protags.

well the description says 3 protags with intertwined stories ... so who knows what it will be in the end .... Corateries is different genre , that one have sequel later this year , this one is by devs of The Council , but havent tried that one myself

Oh, I didn't realize this would not be a visual novel.

At any rate, yeah, they let you select three "protags" but those are really conduits for what's actually happening at the fore.

It's an illusion of choice because the stories are already set; playing the game is just a matter of getting from the beginning to the end with a few options for the player to vary the experience, such as not being able to visit all the sites and talk to everyone before the ultimate showdown.

But that's why I say protagonist, because Cotaries was always about Sophie's power moves.

Play as 3 vampires who are over a hundred years old. Progress through the game through their intertwined destinies, deal with their different points of view and use their character sheets to try to separate the truth from the lies. Each character has their own abilities and vampiric disciplines that you can upgrade individually to suit your preferred approach.
Will you choose intimidation, seduction or stealth? It's your decision, as long as you can sate your Hunger for blood.
