Discussion What are you currently playing? (Week 13 of 2025)

i've been playing quite a bit of Xenoblade X the last few days, I already played it in 2015 and usually when a game I have enough nostalgia for sees a re-release I buy it and maybe play it for a few hours but i'm 14 hours in already and toying with the idea of 100%ing it so safe to say it's definitely living up to my memory of it so far

I haven't touched it in the past few days but I also put a few more hours into the first Suikoden earlier in the week, don't have much new to say about it other than I unlocked the ability to teleport to my base which is nice since the backtracking was annoying me, it's not my priority at the moment but I still intend to finish it and also play the second one when I do

Right now: Xenoblade X Switch, replaying FF Pixel Remasters on Xbox, continuing Civ 7 on Deck to finish the review, still chipping away at Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on PS5 with the last update, and AC Shadows PS5. Weirdly this is much less than I usually have on for work. Nice to "relax" lol.

Shadow of Mordor. Playing it seriously now after putting it down on release. Probably the clunkiest feeling arkham style combat I've played so far. The overall controls feels sluggish as well. The nemesis system makes up for it though. And trying to get around the chiefs/captains random strengths is very fun.

I'm almost done with Pillars of Eternity I just want to finish the Endless Paths of Od Nua before going to the last act, meanwhile I've finished the White March part 2 DLC and it was nice having more back story involving some other gods.

Once I'm finished with Pillars of Eternity I'm planning to start Expelled

I just reached Nibelheim in FF7 Rebirth, which I assume is probably the last open world map due to various indicators in the game (like the number of mogstool levels).

It's a long game, but actually not as long as I feared, and it does have a staggering amount of variety.

Finished Ventus's story in Birth by Sleep. These are kinda breezy actually.
Don't think I'll start my Aqua playthrough yet cause tomorrow is Genshin patch day and new area explorationing takes priority

Better late than never
This week I decided to put GZDoom on my Deck. The official Doom I+II is very good, but I still prefer easy access to complex mods that require zScript
I also wanted something simplier after Suikoden I, so I searched my library, found one of the old Frogware's Sherlock Holmes point and click games (the Awakened from 2008), downloaded, started and finished it
