New week, new thread! What are you playing?

Continuing Reverse Collapse NG+. Just reached Chapter 3 and tried to get all achievements on the way. Most of the remaining are tasks under specific conditions. Some of them are actually hard to do so they are really "achievements". Really loving it.

Also started Alan Wake. Episode 2 at the moment. I miss thirdperson shooter!

I finished getting all the Armored Core 6 endings. Basically replayed it immediately after finishing it twice, lol. Didn't feel bad since the gameplay is sick and every playthrough actually has quite a few changes. Anyway, awesome game.

Afterwards I figured I might as well continue with mecha season and played through Daemon x Machina. Played it for a bit ages ago and got distracted as usual, but now I'm done with that too. It's different from AC6 but honestly was a lot of fun in its own right.

Then I gave Atelier Lydie and Suelle a try which has been sitting in my library for a while now since I haven't played much of Firis. Decided to cut my losses there and just abandon Firis. I greatly dislike that game. Hopefully this one is better again.

But I didn't play much of it since I figured I should actually play Nioh 2 now, which was what I wanted to play initially before deciding that actually, mechs.
I played through the first mission a year ago and it was brutal to get back into things. The trashiest of trash mobs have murdered me an embarassing amount of times. But I'm back in the groove now and finished the second mission. It's great fun.

i'm ~10 hours into expedition 33 now and it's been pretty great but I feel like the story still hasn't really truly kicked off yet, i'm nearing the end of act 1 so I imagine that'll probably change soon

i've been enjoying the combat well enough but right now my biggest issue with that is actually kinda the opposite of what I thought it would be, I was worried maybe i'd find it frustrating but i've actually found it too easy for the most part even though i'm only okay at the timing stuff(i've mostly been avoiding parrying in favor of dodging and while I can dodge okay i'm not like hitting every single one there either), i've been doing just about everything with only a couple exceptions but I haven't been respawning things to grind or anything like that

i'm actually kinda tempted to change the difficulty from normal to hard(expeditioner to expert I think are the actual names IIRC?) but i'll wait and see if there's a difficulty spike soon when finish act 1

i'm also probably a third of the way or so into fragments on daybreak 2 now

i've been enjoying the game but I gotta say I found some stuff in act 2-B to be pretty silly so i'll rant a little bit about that

the "Gardenmaster"? really? and teases of him being Nadia's dead brother? they also went a bit too heavy on glazing up Towa at the start there, made me roll my eyes a bit

this ones more of a missed opportunity but I also felt like they really could have made the whole death ends thing feel so much more interesting by committing just a little bit more to that scene where Swin got stabbed

it was a clever idea to make you think one was gonna happen again but then it doesn't but I feel like it was a big missed opportunity to add a much higher feeling of stakes to future stuff by giving it a bit of a consequence and establish that things can happen that are at least sorta bad and not get rolled back, i'm not saying kill Swin off but maybe the armor still saves his life but he gets hurt a bit and send him to the hospital for the rest of the act or something

It's my first time playing Mafia with the Definitive Edition. I've encountered some strange technical issues, but nothing irreparable. I treat the game like it's a movie, though the gameplay feels a bit clunky.

Boy, I continued my Birth by Sleep playthrough, I did Ven story very fast
And then went onto Aqua, since I needed to do the final and secret episode with her I decided to do a bit of side stuff to grind. I even completed the Mirage Arena and got the best weapon in the game.

I only had 2 things left getting all commands and the ice cream mini game (I ain't touching that), rhe idea that you'd have to do all that with the 3 if you want to 100% seems so tedious to me.
Then I did the final episode and went back to aqua's file to do the 2 hidden bosses
Vanitas remnant was a bit annoying but once you get how it works and you can bait him it's actually manageable.
On the other hand the Mysterious Figure .. whoever designed that boss ... my hand started hurting of so much dodging.

Anyway I watched coded and I'm done with the collection.

Finished Herdling and Shadow Gambit last week. Been playing a bit of Journey to the Savage Planet but the journal/no map system is annoying me. Started Pathfinder: Kingmaker as I never finished it back in the day, had a steam cloud save issue and lost a whole chapter of play.

More quick games this week
First I went back and gave CoD World at War another try. Thanks to pcgamingwiki I found out how to make the game run windowed which solved the black screen hang it had, and so I cleared it. I can see why Zombies became a popular mode in future CoDs
Then I picked one of Chilla's Art older titles, Okaeri. Very short (30 minutes and it's done), very simple, very unsettling. 30 minutes of chills running down my spine, I can see how this team has so many horror followers
Last I played and finished Staffer Reborn, a sidequel/spinoff of the mystery game Staffer Case I played not long ago. It's a much shorter game, it's basically an extra case with a unique gimmick. Just like the main title it's set in a world inhabited by people with special powers that follow their own specific rules, but unlike the original instead of solving a murder mystery the player has to do the opposite: figure out how to permanently kill an old man, having the power of resurrection, who is now trapped on it's deathbed in a cycle of death and rebirth repeating the last 15 minutes of its life forever. The protagonist/player must use deduction to figure out how this power works and find a way to break this loop
Well, this year's main course is almost here. 2 days left before the return of the giants of steel

Still playin a bit of Jedi Survivor. Decided to focus more on the story to unlock most abilities before focusing on exploration again. It's kinda annoying to always hit the red objects in the map when you need to progress more to find stuff. But the actual maps are a joy to traverse and combat in this one feels way more refiend. I love the various stances and recently unlocked the "crossguard stance2, which is basically the silly lightsaber Kylo Ren uses. The game interprets that as a heavy two handed style, which is super powerful, but offset that with being slow.

Booted up Blair Witch from Bloober. Loving the spooky forest setting in this one and already had a bit of fun with the in-game phone (a Nokia dumb phone), where you can make random calls to people, even if your hero has nothing to say, effectively doing prank calls. Already managed to get the pizza guy to block me.

ROOMS: The Toymaker's Mansion is my last blitz game so I'm going to be playing some of that. But since I'm in no hurry, I'll probably start something else as my main game as well.

I'll probably start Persona 5 soonish, though right now the amount of time it's going to take feels a bit daunting.

I think I'll install Lil Gator Game, it's the opposite of daunting. :coffee-blob:

Dune: Awakening really has its claws in me. I'm not usually big on survival titles, but the fact that it feels so appropriate for the setting, along with the little traditional-RPG touches, has made it much more compelling than most. The slow buildup from scrabbling across the sand to mechanizing your little fiefdom is amazing. Sound and visual design are aces as well.
