I can't help feel it's gatekeeping, but what do I know. I don't write things like "For the expert gamers...".
pretty sure they did ... this HAS to be a sponsored articleAt least make Epic pay for articles written like that. Jesus.
we will ... but it will be egsclusiveI hope we get a new and good Speedball.
I'm not super familiar on advertorial law, but aren't there laws in many countries including the US that say if it's an ad masquerading as an article it needs to be disclosed as one?pretty sure they did ... this HAS to be a sponsored article
it certainly reads like one
yeah, i suppose you're rightI'm not super familiar on advertorial law, but aren't there laws in many countries including the US that say if it's an ad masquerading as an article it needs to be disclosed as one?
honestly - it's probably this...or overworked to the point that they can only reword press releases to get through the day's news.
You can find people on that other forum who can't enjoy a game if they don't pay full price for it.I've always found it so weird that "more money goes to the developers" has been pushed so much by these shills. As a "consumer" (hate that term), why would I care? I mean, it's great when people get paid for their work. But presumably, the people running the storefronts do work, too. The infrastructure has costs, too. As a "consumer", my assumption is that the pubs/devs and storefronts have worked out deals that benefit both of them. Game companies are not charities -- why would I care about their monitization model to the point where it would make me choose one store over another? I think that this "devs get paid more" thing is a cynical way to further manipulate people into thinking that game developers and publishing companies are friends, like how influencers are supposed to work, via this weird pseudo relationship social crap. Seriously, fuck capitalism (cue upvote from lashman).
One of my pet peeves is people who advocate against people like us who dislike the exclusivities on the basis of it's good for the developers and they got more money, but jump on the opportunity to buy something on cheaper regions or abuse price mistakes, and are all for the used games market. You can find people on that other forum who can't enjoy a game if they don't pay full price for it.
I hate to "defend" anything related to Phoenix Point (I was a backer for the game, so as you may understand, I'm still a bit pissed about the crap they pulled ), but Humble is selling the game for less than that, if you use their monthly 20% discount.Btw: Phoenix Point is 27€ on cdkeys.com. Still not buying, but kinda funny. Even cdkeys doesn't expect to be able to sell the game.
The game shifted from: A cool Xcom game, I'll buy it on release. They already mentioned season passes and all, so it just seems to be their tactic: launch at a lower pricing, but "making" people pay for content "piecemeal"
They dont care. They just pretend to care to earn brownie points on whatever platform they’re posting on.I've always found it so weird that "more money goes to the developers" has been pushed so much by these shills. Wait what? Did I miss this? To: It's not being released on Game Pass in December? Ah whatever, I can wait.
I remember reading that the Xbox version alongside the Game Pass version were moved to 2020. But maybe I am wrong, not sure.Wait what? Did I miss this?
Got this from the official site:I remember reading that the Xbox version alongside the Game Pass version were moved to 2020. But maybe I am wrong, not sure.
The PC and Mac OS versions of Phoenix Point will be launcing on the Epic Games Store in December 2019.
The PC version will also be releasing on Microsoft's Game Pass in December 2019 with the Xbox One version to follow in Q1 2020.
Ah, okay then. Sorry.Got this from the official site:
An EGS exclusive game being for sale on cdkeys is remarkable in the first place.Btw: Phoenix Point is 27€ on cdkeys.com. Still not buying, but kinda funny. Even cdkeys doesn't expect to be able to sell the game.
BL3 is also on there since day one.An EGS exclusive game being for sale on cdkeys is remarkable in the first place.
I don't think there is boxed copies at all. Probably keys from AMD cpu and GPU bundles?BL3 is also on there since day one.
I assume they are just buying cheap retail boxes from somewhere and then reselling those codes.
At least here in Europe there are.I don't think there is boxed copies at all. Probably keys from AMD cpu and GPU bundles?
Oh seems there is, but nobody carries them here.At least here in Europe there are.
You can walk in and buy BL3 on PC.
Lol wtf how is that not a paid advert?Another hilarious effort for shilling for Epic:
Epic Games puts Steam to shame with its Black Friday sale
Incredible.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is. There are similar articles popping up on several popular non-gaming tech sites for weeks now, all of them screaming the Steam-bad-Epic-good narrative.Lol wtf how is that not a paid advert?
Oh shit. Here we go again.I wouldn't be surprised if it is. There are similar articles popping up on several popular non-gaming tech sites for weeks now, all of them screaming the Steam-bad-Epic-good narrative.
6 months. That should be the case.Is blands 3 releasing on steam in march?
As long as nothing strange occurs between now and then, I believe it should. Is blands 3 releasing on steam in march?
They react to a new HL game, that could reshape this industry (again) by discounting BL 3.Oh shit. Here we go again.
Epic's reactivating contacts in gaming websites. Looks like that's how they react to HL: Alyx announcement.
April 2020 is the confirmed date.Is blands 3 releasing on steam in march?
Where’s the article saying GMG puts Epic games to shame with its black friday sale? Y’know because RDR2 and BL3 are cheaper there.Another hilarious effort for shilling for Epic:

Don't worry, I've used archive.orgThat’s bait. Not even gonna give them the click.
I did notice that this thread was slowing down. Can I just say it's so nice coming to MetaCouncil and not seeing this thread lit up like a Christmas Tree all the time? I also find it hilarious that the week Valve announces a new Half Life game, the only thing Epic has to announce to contend with it is that Beyond Two Souls is releasing on PC soon. >.<
Epic post. You are all too harsh.
The biggest achievement was to convince the press that consumers should care about the income of stock market companies over their own interests.
The second biggest achievement was to make people cautious towards funding campaigns.
The third biggest achievement was to discount games before they were even available to download. Giving everybody who pre ordered at full price a very good feeling inside.
The fourth biggest achievement was being toxic towards critics and gamers. Further improving the mistrust between developers and consumers.
The fifth biggest achievement was to change the meaning of indy development. Once it meant being independent from publishers and doing your own stuff. Now it means being independent from consumer and selling your game to store fronts instead.
And you all are like epic didn't have a busy year. When in truth they were very good at making this industry worse.
LMAOOOOO that would be an amazing troll, and I'd have to faux-tip my hat to Sweeney, who would be essentially robbing the dev of revenue after claiming to dev-friendly.Don't worry it'll be available as weekly free games.
I have 0 obligations to a developer beyond not stealing.I've always found it so weird that "more money goes to the developers" has been pushed so much by these shills. I can't even wrap my head around this logic. Are these the kind of people who get erections when they see GTAV in the top 5 of NPD for four straight years? You can find people on that other forum who can't enjoy a game if they don't pay full price for it.
I honestly came here to check if this was the same shill article from yesterday. This shit is crazy.Another hilarious effort for shilling for Epic:

That's such a shame since I sometimes use Techradar Pro. This kind of shilling is so shameless.Another hilarious effort for shilling for Epic:
