some day I'll beat LiS 1

not today though
LiS1 is the best thing since dulce de leche. It's the gaming equivalent of Abbey Road, the narrative adventure version of Pixar's Inside Out. It's to games what Monet was to painting, what Married With Children was to comedy TV shows, what Asimov was to sci-fi literature.

What a fantastic game.
the giveaway i did have planned this month is most likely going to be alot smaller than orignally intended, sadly my nan passed earlier today
So sorry to hear that Queen. We're here for you whenever you need it :hugging-face:

I am tempted to try:

And I did not notice that this game had been released. I remember noticing its art style and then I forgot about it.
Thankfully, Steam250 is there so that I can notice it again.

No, it is simply anime: there are buy orders at a good price. People are lining up and throwing 6€ at whoever would be okay to sell it to them.

1. Create the Steam Market.
2. Allow Anime games on Steam.
3. ???
4. Profit.
I know that game

Somewhere else
Is there any decent action adventure/rpg that is not a difficult Dark Souls like? I miss the good old days of Tomb Raider (old), Indiana Jones and the Tower of Babel or that Conan game from 2004.

If you have a PS4, Lost Legacy is a good fit. Was constantly reminded of oldTR while playing it.

About to start Xcom 2. Any QoL mods I should install? Already have the no mission timer one installed.
There was a thread on Era the other day and people listed QOL mods, there was also a link to a discussion by Tuco and that had some QOL mods listed too. It's worth skimming through for ideas at least as there seemed to be some XCOM2 veterans in the thread.

what was the trick to getting 3 bucks off your humble monthly, do you cancel or pause?

No idea about the $3 but don't Cancel as you'll lose "Classic" benefits and be demoted back to Choice. Pause only.

edit: Ahh, I thought the change to Choice was imminent and you wouldn't have time to Cancel & Resubscribe before it changes.

Cancel. They will either offer you the discount before you cancel and you can use it immediately. If you don't get it , you cancel it completely and wait throughout the month for them to send you a email with a 3$ off link. Though in this second case it's probably unlikely considering how close the monthly is. Though you might as well try. Just make sure you resubscribe one day before the reveal so you can keep classic pricing

For the Atelier fans, is still worth to buy Atelier Lydie & Suelle if I have ryza and still have to finish it?
In total I've played Sophie, Lulua and now Ryza.
I still can't judge on Ryza since it's a total change from the predecessors and I have like 6 hours in it, but from the previous two I liked sophie, lulua not so much.

So this is the month EGS exclusives are coming to Steam. Finally we'll know if the devs or pubs will have the guts to charge full price for these games. And if Steam users are willing to buy them.

While my gamers heart doesn't want these games to flop, I do hope that going EGS exclusive wasn't a positive experience for these devs and publishers. It's time this sh*t comes to an end by now.

I'm still a little pissed that Ashen, which was originally advertised as Play Anywhere alongside Game Pass, ended up axing the W10 store version because of EGS so I didn't get to play it on launch like I was expecting to. Pretty sure it's not getting a W10 store version with the EGS timed deal running out, either, as it's leaving Game Pass this month on console.

Someone paid 50€ for an Anime profile background. I was not the seller, I have nothing to do with this Anime game.

Can you imagine paying the price of a AAA game for a profile background? :cpc_lol:
The power of anime.

:disapproval-blob:

Speaking of backgrounds, i finally decided to add a background to my steam profile a month ago or so. Is it an anime background ? You can find out if you click!

Background approved. (y)

One year ago I was ready to buy Ashen day one now let's see if I'm still interested in the game.

Speaking of EGS exclusives lets do a informal recap of of their money hats Dec 2018-19

Ashen and Hades are going to release on steam soon, and be full priced, both mediocre games, so not much lost their.

Metro Exodus - This angered me alot cause how abrupt it was and I thought this was the trend of AAA games going through in 2019, but 2 things to consider, metro was never a AAA franchise and its was mostly Deep Silver fault (This is important)

Ubisoft - They still released some games on steam but they removed abruptly Anno (which is again no big deal cause anno hasn't been good in years) and later releases of Ubisoft games through the year like Divison 2 and Tom Clancy generic openworld game which had more poor sales which made me glad, Sure Ubisoft 'grew" their Uplay store and got paid by Epic but I wouldn't be surprised if they come crawling back to steam in 2020,

Various indie games - There was a couple but it doesn't matter because other filled their games and will come back to steam in 2020

2K - Very interested, they didn't commit to the 1 year bribe, 6 months for borderlands 3 and 1 month (LOL XD) for Red Dead Redemption, either the deal didn't work out for them or they're holding out for more, dunno.

Control and The Outer worlds, games from developers that's past their prime, no big loss.

Shemnue III and Rune II - metacritic 72 nuff said and Human Head died the next day after releasing Rune II XD

Not bad considered how worried I was but In return we got Microsoft, EA and Bethesda, and a new Half Life game in 2020 (even if its stuck behind a VR gimmick)

Im buying Hades day 1, not sure about Ashen though. Hades is however fantastic.

Hades is great, have you played it?

(even if its stuck behind a VR gimmick)
Funny how you keep going with "VR is a gimmick" despite people giving you reasons why VR is not a gimmick.

Have you even played VR? And by VR I mean not rollercoaster demos.

Control and The Outer worlds, games from developers that's past their prime, no big loss.
What exactly do you mean by "past their prime". Outer Worlds is great despite being short and Control is seemingly also great, better than Quantum Break from what Ive heard.

The MetaCouncil Visual Novel Book Club is back after a short break, and this time we'll be reading Hatoful Boyfriend and the sequel Holiday Star:

If you don't already own the two VNs, then you still have about 48 hours to grab them for cheap on Steam or on GOG. And if you do already own them, then I hope that you'll join me in knocking these old birds off the backlog.

EDIT: The original game is also free with Xbox Game Pass for PC.

Seems like a lose-lose situation. Either they come out on Steam and don't do well so they think all future games should take deals (if they're offered one) or they do well on Steam and realise they can take the deals and it doesn't harm their main PC sales when it finally comes out on Steam, GOG, etc.

? HL isn't stuck behind a VR gimmick at all. It's a full blown AAA VR game designed from the ground up with all the amazing VR functionalities in mind. It's the opposite of a gimmick.

No question in my mind that people are willing to buy formerly exclusive games on Steam as long as they are quality. Hades, The Outer Wilds, Satisfactory, World War Z etc should do very well.

Games releasing after a year of EGS exclusivity will do as if nothing happened, some will flop, the AAA will get a fuckton of sales, and most of the people won't boicot shit cause' they just want games where they want and in case you wonder, yes, it doesn't matter if you boicot or not, they will take deals cause' it's direct money to their pockets for free and that's capitalism, bby.

My recommendation, just fucking buy wherever you want and enjoy it when its on your platform of choice because most won't care at all.

EDIT: If you ask me I'm totally going to buy all the exclusives I was interested on day or week 1 when they reach steam, my list was done for such purpose, to know exactly when to buy the stuff I wanted and plan all my movements.

I won't buy an EGS exclusive game when it comes on Steam, especially if they are full priced, screw them.

Maybe when they are on Gamepass ( along with other games and i can sub via some sort of cheap deal ) or in a bundle in a few years, i'll play them, i'm not in a rush and there's so many games to play and so many releasing each month for me to give a fuck about the ones that take some EGS exclusivity deal.

I have no problems skipping games that i am interested in anyway. I haven't even played Sekiro, still waiting on a good price, and if it never drops low enough, i'll never play it, and that's cool with me.

I'm gonna get Hades, Operencia, Kine and Industries of Titan the moment they launch on Steam (unless Hades price is completely insane, as I somehow fear it will be). I don't care about developers accepting Epic money, I can criticize the move because I think it won't pay off in the long run (and people losing faith in crowdfunding is an early indicator) but I can understand their position, people need to eat and a stupid billionaire throwing money at you because he thinks he can get all the cake and not just a piece is too good to refuse. I hold a grudge against Epic for even trying to introduce third-party exclusivity in the PC market. They can really go to hell.

A couple of games missed a sale from me only because they're available on Gamepass and I have no interest in buying them again (Outer Worlds and Phoenix Point).

Only a single developer completely made me lose interest in a game I was otherwise going to buy at launch: the Ooblets devs. They can fuck off. I'll never get their game.

One thing is boycott a game because of the deal and the other is waiting for a good price.

What I'm trying to say is that if games have not been selling well because people were waiting for steam and then once they come to steam they dont sell, then whats the point?

I respect all the choices you all make but things clear, I don't see boycotts as a useful way of protest for such decisions.

The point is that EGS actively damages the initial hype the game has and hurts the sales way beyond the exclusivity period, which will absolutely be true for many middling titles. For example, why would someone buy Ashen on Steam after they left the EGS version broken for a year ?
