So from the looks of it FH4 will not have all the DLC. By which I mean you will have to buy it. It looks like they are doing another Hot Wheels DLC thing like they did with FH3.

I played FH3 and it's pretty fun.

I think this is a price mistake with the humble discount applied totaling 76% percent off, warning contains gratuitous anime :surrenderblob:

I was looking on r/gamedeals and it seems intentional as it's up for 24 hours vs the rest of the games being on sale for 7 days.

Also note, there are other dlc which doesn't look like it's on sale.

That makes sense now that you point on the different countdowns. I saw that trending on Humble and thought it seemed like a steep discount relative to the other bundles and how recent it came out.

"The King of open world arcade racing"???

I though Forza was one of those hardcore sims where you have to drive in gear 1 (manually of course) as slow as possible to be able to make a turn. Have I been wrong all these years?

It's pretty much the best balance between arcade and simulation one could hope for.
Certainly seems like it....

So I screwed up and only downloaded two games from the demo fest. Is there anything I should check out?

I wonder though, would it be giftable since it actually has a price in every country? If so, hit me up if anyone is able to try!
it is not, it's completely locked, all packages are restricted to their specific countries.

Horizon is more arcade racing than base Forza
So there's a difference between Forza and Forza Horizon? The more you know...

Anyway, continued with Yakuza 0 yesterday, and finished chapter 10. What a twist! Did not see that coming!
I still wonder what Tachibana really wants to do with Makoto Makimura, from what Lee told us the "man with the bat tattoo" had done to her earlier.

Really exciting! :steam_pigblanket:

Forza Motorsport is the sim. Forza Horizon is the best arcade racer by a huge margin. I very rarely enjoy racing games, the last one was 2005's Need for Speed Most Wanted. Forza Horizon 4 is truly excellent and highly recommended.

Now that makes everything more interesting! NFS: MW from 2005 was an awesome game, that was IMO at the high point of arcade-y racers during the mid 2000's.

My favorites were:
  • Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit
  • Need for Speed: Underground
  • Need for Speed: Underground 2
  • Need for Speed: Most Wanted
  • Need for Speed: Carbon
After that I got the feeling that the series lost its way...

Publishing information from stolen documents and so playing into that person’s aim of hurting CDPR... I expect Jason to have more integrity than that.

That note screams fake to me, but, sure, I’ll believe it.

Remember when that happened to Gabe?

Having an account on the server with no password, and saving hashes of passwords with no salting or any other protection. Well, at least I hope Valve learned from the experience. I think every larger companies goes through these attacks until they wise up a bit.

I'm really looking forward to what Anthem might become! It seems to be a game that deserved so much more from its management and lead circles.

Quite unhappy with the CDPR hack. I hope the media won't play into the hands of the hackers, given the highly criminal and overall shittiness of the event, but I'm not holding my breath.

Played a few demos. Narita Boy blew me away at first with its presentation, but boy does it have kind of odd input lag that drags the 'game feel' down. Also took forever to get going. I've gotten more impatient over time, but having to button through blocks upon blocks of text and just walking in what is by all accounts an action game seems like a strange choice. Makes me appreciate the no-nonsense approach of games like Hyper Light Drifter more. Would also appreciate a way to disable the pixel blur. I know from experience that this will cause me eye strain from trying to focus on a blurry picture.

Sands of Aura seemed pretty rough, but I could see myself giving the full release a go. Default button mapping was weird, e.g. sprint on holding down left analog click (seems like a surefire way to cause/speed up stick drift over time). Also so much text!

Astalon was cool. Fact that Dangen's publishing it makes me a little apprehensive, but the game itself came across really well. Didn't love all of it, like the character swapping was a bit tedious, and having to restart from the same spot got to be a drag, but still a very fun little demo. Also went pretty much right into the action. Good! Of the three, it made the best first impression :blobmorning2:

The replies to CDPR's tweet are quite disgusting as well. They're essentially blaming CDPR for this hack because they released a broken game, "you reap what you sow", etc. etc.
Do you still need it ? I can share my discount.
Really? I'd appreciate it. If you want to trade with games from previous months, just let me know! (As long as I haven't redeemed it.)

Are there any racing game demos worth trying? The list Steam put forth is painfully sparse.

I’m still waiting for someone to take a crack at that Ridge Racer magic. Would be in day zero :heartblob:

Basically this. The first journo that shows signs of having dealt with the hacker goes on perma ignore with me. It's certainly one thing to talk about the news, quite huge, it's another to make a deal with those shitheads.

On a side note, man, does hacking gaming companies have recently become an esport or what ?

My impression of Narita Boy went quickly from "wow this looks and sounds very cool" to "wow this plays like dogshit". It's so floaty, you touch the analog stick (fuck forced analog stick controls on 2D games by the way, can't even remap) and your character zooms everywhere and it has fucking platforming.

I'm one of those heathens who plays many 2D platformers with a stick anyway, so that didn't really bug me, but the controls did feel somewhat off. One thing I noticed is that 2D games where your character takes up such a large part of the screen don't quite sit right with me. I'm still interested to see how this turns out though.

I played a bit of Metric Racer just now, and that seems quite rough. Also, no pitching or drifting it seems. Maybe something that'll be added later? I like the responsiveness of the ships though. Hope it comes together, because I do enjoy those Wipeout style racing games. Nothing else that stood out to me under the games surfaced on the racing demo page, unfortunately :( Some physics-based racing game that looks flashy, but none of those that I ever tried have been for me.

They're working on an english version, too. Looks pretty fucking neat.
That's great news! I'd love to give it a try.

Are there really good Idea Factory games by the way ? I always felt, not to disparage other people view on them (and I love to be wrong and discover new things) that they were mostly mediocre games that you play when you really crave for J-games and don't have anything better on hands.
Like Neptunia (sorry Gevin ). I played some hours of the first and it wasn't horrible, but it's on my 'why should I return to it', list.

Again, looking to be pleasantly surprised, no interest in shitting on other people fun.
