Hint from someone knowledgable to the industry that Acti has killed off Crash, probably Crash 4 didn't meet sales expectations. No PC version, no Switch version, no next-gen version, sky high day 1 price ( it was like 70 euros in Europe on PSN and Xbox).

I finished Crash 4 this weekend on PS4 Pro and it's a really good game. Really sad if this is true and we ain't even getting a PC version.

Rambling thoughts on Hitman 3 (Stadia), in Spoiler tags since its not on Steam and this is the Steam thread and I should probably make a thread for it but Im too lazy to do so but maybe someone else wants to but anyway, here we go:

Ive mentioned before that I play Hitman 3 on Stadia*, and its pretty good, on par with the other two games, sometimes better. Gameplay is basically the same with only a few additions: you get a camera which hacks some stuff (for some reason, I could do without this, Id rather have a real photo mode/a first person perspective to choose)), and you can unlock shortcuts in levels that stay open permanently afterwards (these are neat).

The maps are as always the main attraction and they're great.
Dartmoor stands out, featuring a murder mystery plot a la "Knives Out" which is pretty neat, and the other maps all have their charm as well. Mendoza is a vineyard in Argentina, bright and colourful, Berlin features a rave club, Dubai is basically Burj Khalifa, Chongqing has this neat neon city flair and isnt super innovative or anything, but still, a good map. And there's another map which I dont wanna spoil.

I played through it all already, of course, as its not exactly long, you can romp through the main story maps in under an hour if you know what you're doing. But getting to know the maps (they are, as in Hitman 1+2, huge) takes a while, of course. Still, probably took me less than 10 hours for it all, but I played around 50 hours all in all; but this includes replaying Hitman 1+2 maps (on Stadia, its all just packaged into one game, "Hitman: World of Assassination", and it contains whatever maps you have purchased/unlocked from all three games).
Hitman 2 was on Stadia Pro so before Hitman 3 came out I replayed all the old maps, also to get some unlocks and to get into the Hitman mindset again. But I wont prolong the Stadia Pro sub (first month was free, so...) so I'll lose access to those maps from Hitman 1+2 (hopefully keep the unlocks tho).

I play slow and methodical most of the time, trying to get to know the map well...but I also try to kill only targets, not use disguises, not get spotted... basically, I aim for Silent Assassin Suit Only. You could do it a lot faster if you just mess around and follow the story missions that basically guide you, or if you dont care about stealth so much and just play messy (which can be fun too).

Not sure how much more of Hitman 3 I'll play on Stadia now. It IS a fun game, dont get me wrong, but having unlocks and progression in two places, one of which I dont intend to use for anything else...thats a bit dumb.

* I can attest "lots of people" play it on Stadia too, because I managed to be #5 on the score leaderboards for a map ... and that would NEVER happen on Steam, even if it is very early in the games lifecycle.

So anyway, those are my slightly incoherent thoughts on Hitman 3, and here's a screenshot of 47 taking a selfie as well as leaderboards that are so deserted that even I can be in the top 5.

Are there really good Idea Factory games by the way ? I always felt, not to disparage other people view on them (and I love to be wrong and discover new things) that they were mostly mediocre games that you play when you really crave for J-games and don't have anything better on hands.
Like Neptunia (sorry Gevin ). I played some hours of the first and it wasn't horrible, but it's on my 'why should I return to it', list.

Again, looking to be pleasantly surprised, no interest in shitting on other people fun.
I've played a lot of Idea Factory games, and I've never played one that didn't have at least a few significant flaws.

First of all, they are almost always ultimately very repetitive in terms of assets, but I don't see that as such a huge issue in these games since I understand their budget limitations. Also, the PC ports are consistently mediocre, but you can usually get the current ones to run at native 4k, and often unlocked framerate, so that's "good enough".

What's more concerning is that they often have huge issues with the difficulty curve or balance throughout the games. Lots of battles you can roflstomp, and then some which stand out as extremely difficult.

However, that final point is also related to one of the reasons why I come back to their games from time to time: they try a lot of new things, systems-wise. For someone like me, who derives a lot of enjoyment out of the process of figuring out a game's system and trying to optimize for it, that's a big draw. Oh, and the Neptunia games at least are generally good fora few laughs story-wise as well.

I guess the conclusion is no, there aren't any "really good" IF games :p

~200MB MGSV update went out. Wonder if it removes denuvo based on the main exe becoming slightly smaller but the online exe got way bigger apparently...
looked closer ro it and its the other way , they added new bloatier version of denuvo to the online exe instead , 5 years after launch

Almost as if purposedly limiting your userbase is a dumb fucking idea.

So I screwed up and only downloaded two games from the demo fest. Is there anything I should check out?

Down to $8.03 with Hamble discount, which is a new low.

This is quite tempting.

I need to be a good boi.

For a musou yes I know Strikers strictly isn't a Musou, but it has the same DNA that's pretty high.

PC Gamer wasn't as high on it due to there not being a social element, which is a valid complaint since that's one of the main pillars of the Persona formula.

Can anyone verify if MUSE DASH is trustable software?
As in, how much data do they take (personal and/or hardware) and how much do they monitor?

Security reason is why I've not installed games like Genshin Impact.

Im working on cutting down the amount of Roguelikes/lites I have installed. Uninstalled Noita after playing through all the levels with a cheat, sadly not my type of game. Currently playing Scourgebringer which is pretty good and fun, but I don't understand really the point of having a good. Everything is really fast paced and a gun requires you to take it slower to aim.

My currents faves are: Spelunky 2, Isaac, Dead Cells, Hades, Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeons, Monster Train, Nuclear Throne and Streets of Rogue. Haven't gotten Risk of Rain 2 and Enter the Gungeon to click for me yet.

So I guess Activision is ditching Steam all together?

This might be worst than EGS honestly.
tbh if Tony Hawk comes to Battle.net when the exclusivity ends ill buy it. I'd rather use Battle.net over EGS. Its a solid launcher and has been around for years. They aren't trying to compete with steam or any of that bullshit and it functions.

Plus I can close it when I have games running so it doesnt eat up my resources. Even online only games like Overwatch.

We're never getting Tony Hawk.
Indeed it truly sucks
Nah, BattleNet is solid, but barebones.

I’m aware that battle.net is just fine but being forced to play Black Ops 4 on it was really the final straw on giving Activision/Blizzard a pass. Perhaps it’s me just getting older but I simply don’t really give a shit unless it’s on Steam.

Trailer says all platforms, March 12. However PC is not included while it is sold on their own PC platform. Activision ain't got no respect for PC at all.

I'm fine with Activision using its own launcher, I just fear that the increase in games using BNET going to plummet its quality, that already is not that great.

And they are probably going the way of Ubisoft, releasing on their own launcher and on EGS at the same time.

Dang for someone who is hella against exclusivity, you want to have all your games exclusively on one platform :V

It surely feels like Activison suddenly remembered they have their own storefront. There's worse places to be than Battle net, anyways.
