Some times I get the urge to replay KH then I remember the countless parts of all of those games that I absolutely hated playing through and I change my mind.

KH3 had really fun flashy combat but holy god most of the Disney worlds dragged and the final areas of the game that weren't based on disney properties felt super rushed. I'd only be interested in playing it again on PC because I havent played Re;mind and I really enjoyed the Tangled + Monsters Inc worlds.

There are some things here and there that I'm not happy that they changed but overall it should still be the "same" game with a great story and OST. And those two things are the main reason to play the game.

It is true that Nier Onii-chan is the "true" Nier because of some of the events that happened in the game seem to be made with that version in mind.


Also it makes sense that they would change his face since he is very much meant to be a Bishonen since that actually is part of the character development of his.


Gameplay is going to be the main things that will likely feel off, but that shouldn't really matter since it will make the game more easier for others to pick up.

Played a bit of Final Fantasy 12.

Lost interest even faster than the first time: you, the player, are just not needed. Point your bots in the vague direction of the enemy, and they will operate their program, you don't even need to touch the joystick.
Literally the worst gameplay of any RPG I have ever played. And I've played broke ass games, and awful ones, but FF12 does not even register as a game. It's outright a youtube video where you have to press confirm sometimes.
And on top of that, the level design is lazy as fuck but I could forgive that if it meant something else than "waste time running around to pick endlessly respawning shit with a chance to get something useful", it's worse than the fucking MMOs it's trying to ape.

And it's too bad, because the setting is just so interesting, but it's not worth my time playing through complete shit to get a story... that will get told by a narrator because important things happen out of camera anyway.

What a waste.

And it goes down to the bottom of my list of Final Fantasy, way below even FF13, which I did not thought would happen after all these years.
But it is the worst Final Fantasy game by a country mile, and one of the most foul RPGs in existence. Aggressively bad game, that does everything to be the worst it could be and ruin what could have been.

It's a game where you spend your entire time doing everything to... do nothing. Up to the post game, where you finally get the end goal: being afk while your team depletes massive health bars.
The gameplay is so harrowing that it is made so you don't have to interact with it. Which is... quite something. Especially since its cool unvierse is ultimately very much underexploited at best.

And yeah, I would very much say that I hate FF12.
Totally deserved for that game.

But maybe instead of talking about my experience with videogames, I should complain more about Timmy and his fat stacks for likes on the forum.
That would be more meaningful I'm sure.

Unironically, FFXII & FFXV are my favourite Final Fantasy games and the only FF games i've pretty much fully completed all achievos in.

Part of my the reason I like FF12 has to do with its writing
Alexander O Smith created an outstanding localization of FF12 which is reason for me to replay it again

I don't mind its combat system being 'programing' as there aren't many games where they assign in their combat system or gameplay around it.

Just an FYI, we ain't starting a manhunt here on peeps who don't like certain FF games. The FF series will always have one person favouring certain games over others, and the other person sharing an opposite preference.

FFX is an odd duck to me; much of the game's battles re uses the same enemy types that Tidus, Lulu, Wakka and Auron can 1 hit ko. Furthermore, the sphere grid, interesting as it is, seems more designed to benefit you in the late game and for the harder OPTIONAL boss fights.
I also didn't like the side stuff you could do to get ultimate weapons which really take 'going off the main path' to ridiculous extremes :V
Still FFX has high highs and low lows, and I think its high highs are worth it.
I plan on replaying it again in the future for better Sphere Grid utilization :V

I never got into FF12 (or 13) myself, yet at least, I tried it once or twice, so of course my post had nothing to do with judging liking or disliking game x or y. Just maybe not acting like only some shit eating asshole could dare like a game you subjectively find sub par by writing as if that subjectivity is objective truth. That is what I metacommented on, purposefully toxic behavior stood out for me much more than any EGS talk even though it's one person and Idc about the game.

As for EGS discussion (once again brought up by someone not into it essentially forcing me to respond and talk about that in here, ironic), I don't think it's so obtrusive/happens so much, if people wanna get so strict with directing members to specific threads then might as well only post game opinions in the game OT or "what are you currently playing" thread, only post screenshots in the screenshot thread, talk emus in emulation, VR in the VR thread, etc. I think people converge to this thread just because the community is too small to support a billion different threads a la GAF for now and people go where people are.

It's like a chat, just happens most members also are basically Steam based gamers so this thread naturally came to be the one to converge to for the most part. Maybe the chat function we have for events or a generic thread can be open to use for random game talk? But if people migrate this thread would be dead too.

FFXV is the worst FF I've ever had the displeasure of playing, mostly because of the shadow Versus XIII cast over it.

Still, hunting anyone because of their tastes in game is bullshit and I've tried to step in whenever it was done seriously.

I just want to say that I'm finally starting to understand Battletech, how you manage positioning and your armor, how you handle aggro and more or less getting a handle on the early campaign. Still, I'd welcome any advice! I feel like a monkey trying to pull levers in a 60t hulk of steel and death.

Funny that people bring up FF12. I just played it last year after never finishing it before for some of the same reasons that were mentioned.

Yet this time I got to the ending and really enjoyed it. What was the difference? Beside being on PC and the Zodiac Age version, the difference was I cheated! Cheat engine and some googling let me find some unbelievably powerful equipment in the first few hours after which my tea was essentially unstoppable. Turned the combat into something you could breeze by while running and the boss fights into pretty shows that you could end whenever you got bored of looking at them. You can almost completely ignore the gambit system until late in the game and if you want basically never deal with magic other than revive, and cures.

It rules! The story is really good for a Final Fantasy and I do like the world they've built here. But the combat is a real slog especially if you want to automate it. Cheating means you don't need to automate anything and this avoids gambits being annoying.
