Yeah I can understand that. I'm on the fence myself about it and have mixed feelings about the enemies in Factorio also. Often I would just turn them off. Anyway in Dyson lots of the research is unintuitive when you get off the main path. Like I keep getting notifications that I'm just killing the research queue, but I don't feel like it's an accomplishment or like I did it for any reason. I'm just filling out the tree. I don't know why we're building the sphere, so the research part feels unfocused. Whereas if I had a smaller, shorter range goal like planetary defense and that's why I need all that titanium it would lead the way to why we need a dyson sphere.

And yet I'd be pissed if an enemy wrecked something. And I like building belts while the sun rises and sets and it doesn't matter how long I take. Dunno.
Maybe because I have a lot of background amateur knowledge in both science and sci-fi, but building a Dyson Sphere (or in real life, probably a Dyson swarm if we survive long enough) is itself a stepping stone to something greater. It's a wonderful achievement that is, on paper, very possible, and would enable potentially greater feats (which is what the approximately 2 lines of story in DSP suggest it is for).

Kind of like with Kerbal or something like that - the goal is itself the reason for the goal, mostly. The challenges are how to turn limited resources into exponentially more resources. The research tree feels a little unrefined, the matrix costs for different things seem wildly all over the place, and most of them I wish had higher tiers, but I'm no where near done yet either.

Honestly I'm stressed out enough just by the veins I've been riding on to really flex out my infrastructure drying up on my "core" planet that the thought of actual enemies is just a big ol' nope :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye:

So what's Luna? Is it Geforce Now by Amazon? Or is it more like Stadia?

I have seen that the price is similar to Geforce Now's, but I can also see that there is a specific controller.

While we don’t have a specific number of units sold Sega did list the Western release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon in their latest report as one of the key titles which helped them with their strong performance in the last quarter.
...
Due to the strong performance of their games, Sega have upped their expectations for the next quarter.
Upped their expectations for the next quarter and put Judgement on Stadia :toucan:

After just 27hrs of Nioh2 my XB1 controller started to drift.

This junk lasted a little more than a year while my old 360 controller went strong for nearly 7 years.

I guess I'll use my PS4 controller until I pick up something else. PS4 controller ughh...talk about junk.

Speaking of factory games, this is kind of neat. I forgot I bought it years ago and haven't played it in a long time. But I do recall it was fun to set up the factory and make cars. Going to reinstall it.

Good, paused my Y3 playthrough since it was stuttering to hell and back. The golf minigame was almost unplayable due to big-ass frame drops when you hit the ball..

Does anyone here owns Dirt 5? What's the best settings for steady performance? I set everything on ultra and I can run it well but I'm most confused about the resolutions. If I set the output to 4k and internal to 1440p, the game looks fine but drops frames here and there. If i set everything to 1440p, the game looks blurry.

HELL YEAH!

I hit the highest rank (Mythic) in Magic the Gathering Arena this season. Obvsiously, this means I'm the best Magic player on the forum so ask me anything about Magic and I will definitely give you an answer that is probably not total bullshit (lol jk, I just played a shit load this month but hey I do acutally understand the Historic format so I could give useful answers about that).

Also I see my plan to playthrough all the Yakuza games in release order (Y1 Kiwami, Y2 Kiwami, Y3, Y4, Y5, Y6) is paying off with patches coming soon. I finished Kiwami 1 again (NG+ makes it REALLY easy). Starting Kiwami 2 this weekend.

So out of these NFS games of the 2000s, which are worth playing?

EDIT: How is Hot Pursuit Remastered btw? I've heard it didn't have any noteworthy changes from the original but if it at least doesn't require some tweaking to get working properly, I may get it.

I kind of wish it was easier to redesign your lines in it though once you can itemise and break down the stages into other stages.

Apparently, Super Seducer 3 will be released in 3 days, and it will be censored: people ask for an "uncensor" patch on the Steam forum. Not sure whether it is a joke. I have watched a Twitch stream for a minute, and it was written "censored" at the top left of the videos, it could be some NDA though.
Wait, Steam doesn't allow adults only games? I thought Steam was more or less ok with porn on steam? Because thats what I want them to allow! Porn > Violence

I wonder how they allowed Subverse. It's not released yet but everyone knows what type of game it will be.

Steam allows adult content, but I I recall correctly, Steam does not allow adult games featuring real people since that opens up a whole other can of worms.

While I cannot comment on why it's blurry @ 1440p, I'd suggest turning down Global Illumination, Shadow & Procedural Quality to High if playing @ 4k.

The first 4 on the list are still by far my favourite NFS games. Most Wanted 2005 is the best of the lot for me. Carbon was pretty average back when it was first released, but compared to the later NFS titles, it's a lot better.

I don't know how people can wonder if steam allows adult content or not when just a few pages ago I bought 3 games from a series named Funbag Fantasy the cover of the first of game on vndb is already telling on its own tbh.

Is it possible to run out of ressources in Dyson ? Easy, even ? :anguished-face:
I believe it’s possible in Factorio and I shit bricks at the thought.

Also let me say that, as a noob playing his first Factorio run, the tech tree presentation is just hateful. I don’t know how to return to the global tree once I click on an item, and it’s globally confusing as hell.

I would also complain that the game clearly lacks some info bubbles. I understand that the risk is too sink the player in tutorials, and I’m not advocating for it, but I’m often unlocking items and immediately asking myself what the hell it is for and how do I use it.
Granted, the experimentation can be a plus for some players, but man is it confusing.

If you don't already know it, there are some tutorials available from the top left menu in game for some areas, like trains and signals.

Regarding signals, there is an easy mantra: "Chain signals into a rail crossing, regular signals after a rail crossing".

I'm in the process of buying some casual games for my mother and creating a Steam account for her.
Uh, I suppose there is no fucking way to share a Steam Guard app ?

I think if you set everything to private and never engage in any of the item or steam cards stuff, there's not much you need to worry about and probably don't need Steam Guard.

You'd think VN publishers would start learning and not aim for thin line between what Steam allows and doesn't allow bu stay well below and just release off-site patch (your audience probably knows where to find even if you are not allowed to mention).
You're not wrong, but it's the lack of consistency and transparency when it comes to what's allowed and what's not that's the real problem.

Pinging EdwardTivrusky as I know you have at least a minimum of interest in casual games, but the (super dumb) question is open to everyone.
Are there great Mahjong or Solitaire, on Steam or elsewhere ? I mean, there are so many that I have no idea what to get for my mother. She was really into the Mahjong Artifact series on the Windows Store but it seem to have been delisted.
So if any of you is into these games and have some rec I'm all ears.

Gave her the last Fanatical Hidden Object bundle and my spares from the last Humble Tabletop. Still toying with another Fanatical bundle of the same kind, but... she is pretty stacked already.
A true Steam gamer ! :cold-sweat:

edit - Damn, I told her about my quibbles for the second Fanatical bundle and she straight told me I'm in no place to talk given my steam games number.
Burnt !

Solasta being on sale is tempting. But then I remember that they couldn't promise a controller support at launch. I guess I can wait.
I think Im gonna grab it as I don't use a controller for those kinds of games.
