^Empty world.
I'm OK with an intentionally empty world. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my GOAT and it's largely because of the empty world. I'd rather have that in a lot of games than like the constant random animal attacks of Far Cry or Assassin's Creed at this point. HZD had fairly constrained "life" locations as well and I think was better for it.

Last weekend my PC was refusing to turn on, removing the motherboard's battery for a few mins and putting it back on was enough, but to do that I had to take out my graphics card.

Since then, my GPU's performance has been noticeably worse, just saw the reason why today, turns out it was running at PCIe 1.1 2x, or something like that (reseating the card fixed that, now it's back to PCIe 3.0 16x). xD

For what it's worth, I found the first episode of Life is Strange 1 to be incredibly boring, both in its setting - who cares about this blindingly white suburbia - and the characters of the two girls and the time travel power wasn't really interesting if it meant I had to use it to safe one of those annoying girls. Having one of them die would have been a net benefit to the story.
I gave the game a fair shake, and it was pretty clearly nothing for me.

Life is Strange 2, on the other hand, feels like a much more relatable story that wasn't afraid to show some of the darker sides of American nationalism and bigotry, while still mainly focusing on the incredibly sad story of two brothers trying to find some kind of normalcy after a cop shot their dad for being non-white.

Damn, Sony bought EVO :grimacing-face:
Ohhhh no.....

That does not sound good. On one hand it can help with funding and stuff but on the other hand..... Rip Super Smash Bros?
I know that SIE technically has done some friendly stuff with that game in the past but that was a Japan only thing and relatively small in size. Also RIP to the smaller games.

I guess this means no Steam Evo special this year?

Also wasn't there a huge all thing that happened last year were all the publishers pulled out and it had to be changed a lot. I'm guessing that this purchase was a part of the changes?

This is from years ago but I remember this video

huh , thats random release
I remember that they announced this like a month or two ago. I just didn't realize that on the DS that the game was rare.

The new weapon in Doom's TAG2 is overpowered. You can now stun every demon in the game with it; plus stunned enemies drop resources every time you shoot them.

Might have been added for people who hate still hate the Marauders, lol.

Soooooooo, Nier Automata and now Evil Within, does this mean this will be the differentiation strategy going forward? New titles will be the same on window store and steam while old titles will be updated on game pass/window store.
welcome to the new world and new trends where publishers are putting PC patches/pseudoremasters exclusively on one store (like WinStore here) , while bandoning the old one

yay :dizzy-face:

I'm hoping Evil Within they will eventually release a patch on Steam since Microsoft seems to be very Steam friendly lately but I have no hope for Nier since it is Square-Enix.

I've checked out the screenshots and they're 1920x1200 windowed. They didn't seem to have bilinear filtering applied on top, so that's a plus. I hope there is a borderless window mode, though.

... meanwhile on steam:

What absolutely baffles me about this is some of the responses to this being, "Isn't it a good thing an old game is getting fixed?!" as a sort of gotcha.

Of course it's a good thing. I loved Nier and I'm a huge fan of the Evil Within series so allowing folks to have a smoother experience playing those is amazing. The issue is that it's essentially asking folks to pay for a patch. If it were a full, brand new remaster then sure, I get it. And I understand wanting to add more value to Game Pass. I've subbed in the past and have no issue with it whatsoever. Unless this becomes the norm of course.

Those that know me or have read my posts know that I'm often overly positive. I try to find the bright side to almost everything but I draw the line at exclusive patches. That's too far. I'm not spending another $10-20+ to play the same game on the same platform. And I worry that this will only lead to muddying the waters on what is considered a remaster.

What a weird situation regarding those two games.

I doubt they are truly a new ports, especially Nier considering some of the issues it still seems to inherit from the steam release, but fucked up all the same.

Well that was a blast. Against all comers was def the best achievement and one of the most fun missions in the game. The kodama collection the worst for sure mehh. Also reached only level 502 in my playthrough. Not gonna go for the 750 cap..just seems too tedious even with the underworld fun.

Anyways what a great game. My favorite souls like and exactly what I needed with the long silence of Elden Ring.

Def doing the DS trilogy one more time leading up to ER.

16K support when? :p

Scarlet Nexus looks interesting but I couldn't care less about the dual protagonists :S
Maybe the story'll win me over once I play it someday.
Bamco is still pretty good with their regional pricing, so I might as well bite and pre-order it later. It's about as good as a 40% discount for a lot of other AAA games lately.

Game has been in review since yesterday, but it's actually ready. Valve time and all that.

You need to ask for a beta key in their Discord to unlock it right away. I found this info while reading the Steam forums.
