This is one of the most "commonly known list of big indies" I have ever seen lol.

Feels like some demographics simply confuse AA with Indie, as though anything less than AAA(A) production values qualifies as the latter.

I've seen some crazy stuff termed indie (Ori, The Talos Principle, etc.). And it'll never not be weird to see titles with 6 and 7+ figure budgets labeled as such.

But I wouldn't worry about AA "indies" crowding out or stealing thunder from small dev teams working within small budgets. Most people who's ceiling for production value is capped at AA were never going to support the indie market to begin with.

Interesting new tacti, not sharing direct link so you need to open front page and search around the store.

Smart. I wonder if this is why the previous tweet from the official Twitter account of GenshinImpact was quickly deleted.

So, last level of Halo 2...
I feel like I've warmed up to the games a bit. I still wouldn't call them good, fuck no, but they aren't terrible. They just aren't that fun, and it specifically feels like Halo 2 falls apart at the end by throwing way more enemies at you than the movement and gunplay let you effectively handle. The best strategy in many instances involves being very turtle-y, and there's so many epic moments set against wailing electric guitars where you all you're doing is running through a battlefield because actually stopping to take on all the enemies present isn't fun.

If I had to establish a benchmark for what a "Good" FPS is, I'd probably pick OG Doom. Not Doom 2 where you have the Super Shotgun and all the interesting enemies, but Doom 1. Even with the limited arsenal and enemy selection, there's still a lot you can do with that and the few level design elements Doom has that Halo just, can't. I feel that Halo outright doesn't have the room for anything challenging because of how it your reflexes are capped by the stodgy movement and limitations of gamepads.

Result of a very short development cycle (which also included rebuilding the engine). Halo 2's development is infamous and studio almost fell apart because of the extreme crunch.
The campaign in particular feels like the balance is all over the place.

Yeah, I've heard of Halo 1 and 2's super-rushed and messy development cycles. Though I think the development of every mainline game in the series has been messy going by Raycevik's videos.
I've only played a bit of Halo 3, up to the point where the guy with some stupid sounding cowboy accent needs help on the svaro highway. That seemed to be better overall, but it still seemed to hit the ceiling on what Halo can effectively be without radically changing itself into a different brand of FPS.

There is a GW wide sale on at the moment. It's 75% off for both Martyr and the prophecy expansion. So at a guess $10 a piece.
Yeah, the package including them all is about 20 bucks which is quite good, but also a bit much for me right now. I'm a bit undecided given the footage I've seen ^^.

And that's Halo 2 done. No bang, all whimper.
Xbox Game Pass France today's announcement is Xbox Game Pass Fest which will run June 7-8. More info soon, unknown whether it's going to be France-only or a worldwide thing.
Er... what? A fest for what? Does this mean the 1 month PC gamepass codes on Microsoft rewards will be back? I'm guessing not.

Is it that good? There's a bajillion DLC and 20 bucks is a bit too rich for my blood at this point.
Yeah I'm enjoying it a lot. Played over 20 hours already and I'm still hooked. I bought the complete edition with all dlc for 20 bucks last month on Steam. Perhaps you can find it cheaper in keystores like cdkeys?

So I randomly decided to browse twitch to see what people are playing/watching. Didn't find any surprise game but something else caught my eye, a category labeled "Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches" and curiosity got the best of me.
Most viewed stream:

Just from the thumbnail there's a lot to parce but I'll leave that to somebody else.

Seriously, wtf twitch... and wtf people watching this.
Weird thing to say, but kids these days need more regular porn in their lives.
