If this hypothetical service let you play games on Steam without having to rush due to expiring off the service, I'd think it was a great deal. Modding, no Windows crap, and play when I want, even taking long breaks? Sign me up. Nvidia's service probably comes the closest.
My most important part. If MS did that to game pass I don't see why I would not use it. That's my biggest issue with rental services.

Gamepass is a funny service offering worse service than pirate bay but takes your money anyway.

So will you need to have at least made 1 steam purchase, 1 year prior to getting the SteamPal?

That's actually nice if true. I guess it will suck for those that are only just now using Steam though. And the good standing should as well

I will always prefer buying things because I simply care about my library and the control I have over it.
Gamepass is someone else's ever changing library that I have next to no control over. If I had a sub, I would use it to demo games and then buy them/wishlist them on Steam.
I'm one of the weirdos who actually care about Steam achievements and having all the screenshots and such all in one place.

Just one of those things.
:wd_cutato:

Also yay animated avatars.

Mario+ rabbids is collab with Ningendo ... . its the exception that proves the rule
Miyamoto got impressed by the demo made by Ubisoft Milan and decided to greenlight the project. The level of polish might be due to the supervision from Nintendo, but it is the people at Ubi that pitch and come up with all the main ideas and mechanics.

I do agree that all the remaining games from Ubisoft in recent years are pretty uninspired though:disappointed-face:

Exciting! They showed some really cool games last time.

Is today the last day to gain summer cards from queue? I'm also short on something, 2 cards, in fact.

I guess I missed a queue or two last week, kinda forgot.

So Nacon and Teyon has been spying on my ERA/META posts as, the developer of one of my 2019 GOTY, Terminator Resistance, is now working on a ROBOCOP game.
.

I hope they can get a good Peter Weller sound alike/the actual man himself for this, because YES YES YES. You will not diminish my hype for this with bad takes on Resistance. Caveat being that they make it the same satire the first film is, AND understand that killer cops are not heroes in 2021.

This also leads me to believe that in around two years times I'll be posting about a Drakan resurrection by WB

I believe the sale ends tomorrow so today would be the last chance to get one. If you have an extra space card we can maybe swap.

The fate of the universe is on the line

You can only choose 1 to save the universe. The best of the 4?

Symphonia is not a good port. I haven't played Zestiria and Berseria yet but they are related, so if you are a person like me who are obsessed with gaming order you may want to play Zestiria first. Last but not least, Vesperia is a great game and I have completed it twice, so I would say it is the best choice out of the four.

From those that I've played or tried playing (tried Symphonia, couldn't get into it, finished Zestiria and Berseria) I'd go with Berseria.
It's good. Excellent cast, good combat and story, minigames etc.
It has some connections to Zestiria (it came out after it, but is a sorta prequel actually), but it's totally fine on it's own.

SaGa Scarlet Grace

Has a neat turn based mechanic where killing a unit allows for opposing units to perform a combined attack on the next enemy that is in the que.

Great localization too.

Way better than the stupid fucking race and alien clicker shit
The race that kept changing the rules everyday, so you never fully understood how it worked, and in the end it all boiled down to you had to spend a lot of cash to be able to do anything... Bleh.

Actually, that would be a great addition to the subscription service if one could extend the availability of one game per account. I believe this would solve the psychological issue for most.

As for modding and the Windows crap, I agree, but that is tied to Microsoft rather than the subscription service itself.

I sold my duplicates as soon as I got them, so I don't have any spare right now, unfortunately.

I'd go with vesperia.

But since we have no idea how many universes there are out there, why not buy everything just to be safe?

How do you manage to upload animated avatars?
  • I have tried to upload a GIF, and the website does not accept the upload, it hangs forever.
  • I have tried with an APNG, and the website accepts the upload the preview window works fine (even now), but my avatar is not animated in practice!

I reject the notion of being an anime anything, but I can tell you which game I think is the best one of those:
Berseria is the better game, but I would also recommend Vesperia too.

I actually liked Zestiria most out of those, its take on the Tales battle system is the most methodical out of them. Vesperia and Berseria are good too though. All 3 are among the better Tales games.

maybe the GIF was too big (filesize wise)? and i don't think APNGs are supported

Heavily considering getting Mundaun due to all the praise.

I can only speak for myself and the feeling I have is that this was by far the festival where I wishlisted the less amount of games out of all the festivals we've had so far, simply because I didn't like the games being shown (I think the average quality dropped significantly in this last festival compared to the other ones but this is a purely subjective variable).
I also barely wishlist games anymore prior to their release and some sort of coverage to see if they are worth the effort and time. I started using the "follow" feature a lot more to keep track of things that look interesting and might be "worthy" of being put on the wishlist sometime later, either after release or after exiting early access for instance.

Not sure if I understand the success of Terra Nil, not saying it's bad in any way but this level of success seems a bit much.

It has a pretty ingenious premisse that afaik has never been done before - the reverse city-builder. I believe it also appeals to the cultural values of the disenfranchised and jaded gen y'ers and gen z'ers that constitute the vast majority of it's audience.
Plus it's pretty and has a well put together trailler.

Hmm. Choice or no choice ? That is the question. On the one hand, that's a killer price for Yakuza 3, Surge 2 and Kill it with fire (with Paradise Killer it's a steal but a kind soul gifted it to me some time ago :photoblobheart:).
On the other, that's Surge 2 without dlc and those 10 bucks could go toward things that interest me more these days like RDR2, Terminator or Sinking City.

But yeah, good price, and even if I don't share the Gamepass FOMO, there is little doubt that when I will have caught up with it, Y3 could be delisted.

The theoretical solution is indeed why not both.
Reality is more annoying.

Many developers wonder if festivals give you lower-quality wishlists because shoppers are using the wishlist as a “bookmark.”
Erm, sorry to break it to you buddy but that's EXACTLY what my wishlist is. It's not a "Wishlist" it's a "Bookmark Folder" so i can keep an eye on games that interest me for one reason or another. I have no intention of purchasing every game that goes into my wishlist. It's got nothing to do with Festivals either. It's always been like that for me. Am i doing it wrong? Dunno, Don't care.

I agree with this, i also follow this Simon Carless bloke too, he's pretty good.
Simon Carless over at Game Discover Co has argued very convincingly that “Follower” count is a more accurate measure of how interested someone is in a game. “Following” a game gives shoppers more news and alerts about it so they are probably going to be more selective as to what they follow.
I wishlist stuff i find interesting, i wishlist+follow stuff i find more interesting.

I've also bought fewer games because after 16 years I HAVE A TON OF THEM ALREADY!
That doesn't include GOG or itch either. Thanks to two charity bundles my itch library is bigger than my Steam library.

Yeah, I have no doubt the wishlist can be a useful indicator, but if you treat it like a commitment to purchase, you are in for a rude awakening. We call that doing a Mike Rose.

I'm very proud of myself, never in this post I used the terms 'idiot' or 'sweet summer child'.
