One week to finish Great Ace Attorney should be more than enough before the Trilogy drops on steam.

I love that Sterling had time to make a video about what ended up being false allegations of plagiarism against Epic's Fortnite artists in a matter of hours, but it took him literally months to make a semi decent video that was remotely scathing of the EGS.

Great stuff dude, keep up the good work. Truly, an inspiration to gaming personalities everywhere, and a defender of consumer interests :so-good-blob:
I miss TotalBiscuit.

So I've been playing Shadows of War lately but I'm not enjoying it as much as Shadows of Mordor. The game feels extremely bloated, there are tons of menus, quests, sidequests, collectibles, the whole orc recruiting business and sieges, multiple skill trees with sub-skills... It's exhausting because I can't remember even half of that shit while playing. Not to mention that they added so many special ork types that combat isn't as fun and fluid as it was in the first game because you have to constantly stop your combos and jump around or stun other orks or go behind them. I had the same issue with Arkham Knight, both Monolith and Rocksteady way overdid it when trying to add more and they lost some of the slickness and focus that made earlier games compelling.

I gave up on it on Ps4, such a chore. Bought the complete version off cdkeys and haven't even gotten round to downloading it yet on Steam.

While I don't agree on skills and combat with different orcs, you are spot-on about them overdoing.
It's the prime example of "bigger is not always better". After a very bloated Act 2, when I was more than ready to face the villains, the story threads fell apart and the ending was just as meh as Mordor. All the effort was for nothing.

This was the second time ever that I was exhausted from a single player game (first being Far Cry 4). Open world games that need to give a proper sense of closure to everything that you have done.

I liked Shadow of Mordor a lot but that game was already on the edge of not having enough good content and relying way too much on the Nemesis system. By the end of it you already seen all the "cracks" and fatigue was setting in. The sequel should have streamlined some things, add a ton of good (and preferably handcrafted content) and then try to add some variations. Instead, as you noted, they go all in on the bloat and just add more and more of the same. More orcs! More junk loot! More runes that you can collect to make new runes to get better +X%! It gets really tiresome, and that's before getting to the last act that was there to really pad things and make you buy the microtransactions (I don't know how is it now after them patched it out).

In the end, the core systems simply aren't good enough to sustain all the repetition to get through this "added content", so it can get really boring.

Finished Assassin's Creed Revelations last night. Not counting its dlc (which I plan on playing tonight), that's the third AC I've finished in a week, after Brotherhood and 1. As much as it pains me to say it, looks like I like the series now. Never thought this day would come, given how bored I was after playing the first 4 chapters of 1 many years ago and how much I hated the second half of 2. After venting about the series many times, both online and to friends, I feel kinda ashamed to admit I enjoyed Bro and Rev as much as I have. Not because there's anything wrong with them, mind you, it's just a pride thing.

Here's hoping I also enjoy the other titles, and not get tired due to playing them all (except for 2, which I played a few years ago and don't feel like replaying) in a row.

There aren't any must have titles for me, save maybe Katana Zero. After Sekiro, I don't know when my next anticipated title is? Maybe Fire Emblem?

Has the removal of the loot box been seamless (if you played it prior to that) or does it feel like Monolith left a hole in the otherwise bloated game?

Sekiro description by RPS' John Walker in the Steam charts piece. I knew that guy got more and more jaded as the years went by but come on, lol.

Odd to see this unknown release topping out the Charts on such a busy week. I booted it up, curious, and wow are there some balancing issues in this action game. It’s ridiculously hard, like crazy difficult, far too tough for anyone to reasonably enjoy.

That, and there just seems to be so much content missing. It’s as if someone took an action game and just removed all the fun stuff between the boss fights. I guess after a few updates, when they reduce the difficulty to something accessible, and perhaps flesh out the main game a little more, this could become something interesting. Until then, I’d give it a miss.
Not even a hint of "you know, so many others like it that it topped the charts as I just said, maybe something good is in there, just not for me and my particular tastes which hate every game these days", nope, the game has to have objective faults like a major lack of balance and anything fun to do between bosses (and bosses are just so hard they suck so, no fun anywhere it seems) for anyone to enjoy! Lol. I guess those who enjoy it lie out of shame and those who progress also lie or are demons. Yadda yadda an article is just a writer's opinion etc. Then write it as such. And he could tell so much content (???) is missing from just booting it up to check it out after the Steam charts showed him it's popular as implied there? I don't even.

Maybe I've been April Fooled? Nothing else in that piece is so bad to indicate any failed joke of sorts.

Ah, the smell of April. We made the intranet color scheme pink with unicorns in the company for today.

Time to organize my thoughts and decide what to do in April:

Non-gaming:
  • watch the last 2 episodes og Mob Psycho 100 S2, which ended today
  • finish watching Kamen Rider Gaim and probably start Kamen Rider Drive
  • catch up on lots of other anime I'm way behind thanks to watching Kamen Rider
Gaming:
  • finish Umineko Episode 8
  • start G-senjou no Maou properly (I did a quick 30 minutes look, seemed interesting)
  • play more of the game of the forever (DMC 5), this time with proper cutscenes (Live Action) and Bloody Palance
  • I've bought Grow Up last week, I'll probably continue with that
  • In the middle of Never Alone as well, continue with that
  • I'm getting the sudden urge to play some Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force again, for some comfy B-tier JRPGness

Anyone want to take over Highlight threads for May and at least June? I'll just compile the list of games, that person just needs to do the formatting etc.

I hope you Digimon Survive on your anticipated games list!

It's OK. Randy and co. will be able to recoup their costs with the steam sales on Steam~

I hope the dragonball card game is cool. I'd like a pokemon-tcg style game (I know about the ittle dew one, but I'm not fond of the art/gameplay).
Also, heroes of hammerwatch 1$ on chrono.gg. How is it?

From all the poor people who are getting the Borderlands games in anticipation for Borderlands 3, especially those who are getting Boderlands 1 for the free upgrade to Game of the Year Edition.

So, is BL3 going to use the matchmaking API EPIC said it was coming? Or are we going to have to reinstall Gamespy? :)

I can't say really, I bought it after they removed all that crap.
