I’m bored, may try Digimon and Bisco. Are there standouts shows I should watch these days ?
These days I'm mostly a few seasons behind outside of a few shows so I can't offer that many insights, but I'd say

Digimon Ghost Game
Rust-Eater Bisco
86

have been my personal favorites among what I've watched from the current and last season (86 started a bit earlier, but the 2nd season was recent and only just finished - still need to watch the 2nd half myself)

Crunchyroll, I would get a subscription for it if it wasn't for one thing:

While it's been getting better over time, there's still a few too many shows that aren't available here due to region restrictions (and I don't want to use a VPN).

The first two episodes of Estab-Life are so weird haha. Gatoh Shoji never disappoints. Shut down your brain and have a fun time!

A new anime season starting soon. What are you looking forward to watching?

My picks.

Maybe Spy x Family too if it's not eating too much into my vtuber watching time.

Depends. Sometimes both. :ROFLMAO:

Mine would be

I usually only watched one or two shows so this season is unusual. Let's see if I will stick to them. First two episodes of Estab-Life are very fun so I will keep watching.

Is Virgin Road an isekai? I filter out all isekai shows because there are so many of them. :flare_lmao:
Kinda. The second main girl is from Japan, and the main girl was sent out to kill her. Heard some good things of the show so I will watch it.

Subbed to CR for one month, don’t think I have the trial but whatever. That being said, how to look like clownshoes scammers in 1 step : don’t offer the same pricing between your site and your app. Top notch, I always enjoy CR seal of quality. Their media player has historically been trash fire too, but hey maybe they hired competent people as I didn’t have any issue watching the first two eps of…

SABIKUI BISCO ! HOLY SHIT ! Holy holy holy shit. That was good.

For me it really depends. I definitely prefer anime when available, just because it ends up being more "expressive" you know with music and voice-acting, etc...

But!! Never read a manga based on an Anime. Shit just gets made up because the pacing ends up being different. And sometimes I prefer manga when the anime adaptation is known to be bad or severely incomplete (Gantz is a good example of this.)

Otherwise it just depends on my interest level in the material and how far along the source is. I also generally don't trust anime based on a manga that is still running. Because that means the ending is going to be non-existent or completely made up.
=======

I don't usually watch current-season stuff, I'm always behind. But here are some things from the upcoming season block I am interested to check out... eventually!

I tend to agree with you. But recently, after Dress-Up Darling received critical acclaim I thought that it was entirely possible to get a series ending that elevates the source material to new heights.

But of course, it's probably just an exception since we probably still getting the equivalent of Berserk 2017 or GITS SAC 2045 in the future.

I'm upsetti spaghetti about it too. :surrenderblob:

I re-watched 75 Episodes because i believed them when they said this was it lol. Now it's another year...

Not gonna lie, this sours me a lot on the Studio. Makes it hard to get hyped for Chainsaw man and JJK. All I can think about is how many years it will take them...

i aam exacly the pther way here The more tiem studio gets for adapting the remaining 8 chapters the better it will bein the end.
And the math about this not being the final final was obvious from the start using simple math about speed of adaptation. Personally definitely prefer them to end it with short season rather than movies

See I know nothing about the manga except that it is over. So the # of chapters left to adapt was therefore irrelevant to me and other anime only watchers.

If 12 wasn't enough, they should have gone for a 24-25 episode season. MAPPA is just money-hungry and poorly managed. They over-extend on contracts every season, outsource like crazy (half of more of the credit lists is Viet, Chinese, and Korean sweatshops), and despite getting all these high-tier contracts they underpay their staff, overwork them, and don't expand?? Who is pocketing the money?

only thing i call super stupid is them calling it "final season" when its split into n 3 parts .... might be irrelevant to you , but that doesnt stop it being simple math consistent accross the whole show (aka +- 1,5 chapter adapted per episode) and why everyone (even anime onlies that saw through the obvious) was expecting the end being a movie

also they never really sad the part 2 will adapt whole thing ... thats on you expecting the part 2 in "final season part 2" being "out of 2"

as for the second paragraph ...call me evil or whatever ....thats aboslutely irrelevant for my enjoyment of the show ....my 10 bucks for crunchy is drop in the ocean and has zero influence on whats happening in specific studio and show ..

and i dont really see difference between "24-25 episode season " and +-30 ep season split into 3 parts , but i guess soem people who "wanted it to end asap" might feel annyoed

Hello Everyone

I can now proudly say I have watched TWO anime where an unnamed US President with Donald Trump's hairstyle and morbidly obese body-type unilaterally has a Nuclear Missile fired.

Will take recommendations for a third if anyone knows one.

So, added this to my collection the other day

Also yeah, season 4 just debuted a few days ago too. Personally waiting for Dub though if possible. Will probably catch up on Attack on Titan finally once I'm off Akifumi Kaneko's Wild Ride. I swear he must have been huffing the same shit as Hideo Kojima because Symphogear has the same level of batshit insanity as Metal Gear Solid and Rising.

Anteater One Piece Film Red trailer 2 incoming
Oh nice! Excited to see if there'll be anything interesting they'll reveal about Shanks, I know the movies story aren't canon but sometimes stuff can tie in to the story, like gold lion, we know little to nothing about shanks so any characterization would be interesting.

Yeah, canon or not, at the end of the day One Piece movies are pretty fun watch. Stampede was really good so I expect good action this time as well. Can't wait!

I wonder if Oda will make her character canon, adopted or not, if adopted she's probably not gonna be, lol, but Shanks has that one interesting line at the end.

Just saw Crunchy's simuldub list for Spring, nice to see Date a Live 4 is confirmed. French and Spanish too.

Apparently there's a 3rd Season for LoGH Die Neue Theses? Good to see that's still ongoing, guess it's the latest movies cut up into episodes for western streaming again?

And with that I guess we have the closest confirmation we'll get that Magia Record's dub is indeed Dead and they were not waiting for the 2nd Cour in Spring to start dubbing Season 2 like some people were claiming while hoarding all of the Copium supply. Oh well, it was a rather mediocre spinoff of Madoka anyway, and an ad for probably the utterly worst gacha game in recent memory.

Still waiting for that 2nd half of Moriarty the Patriot's dub >_>

On a whim, I decided to watch Girls und Panzer (plus the OVAs and movie) a couple of weeks ago. I don't really watch much sports anime (and don't really pay attention to sports), but I think I really like them. I re-picked up the Days manga and basically binged the latest 4 english volumes. I should probably continue Giant Killing as well.

GuP is awesome! I have watched the main series and movies for a few times. The directing in Das Finale is particularly superb. Patiently waiting for the next one.

Well, one byproduct of going back into the office, I have been watching more anime compared to vtubers. Caught up on a few different shows from the past few seasons. I am watching a few from the current season, like Spy X Family and Kaguya, but I have a lotttttt of anime to catch up on. I feel like I have been nothing but vtubers for the past two and a half years.

Ranking of Kings was a huge surprise, I almost skipped it, and glad I watched it. Not the greatest show, but really enjoyed it.

86 was...hmm...it started out strong, sagged heavily throughout the middle and finished okay, but honestly the show really did not do it for me.

Dress Up Darling was a guilty pleasure, I always love a good rom com, and this was no slouch, please give me another season!!!

___

Never used Anilist before, but I was apparently able to import my MAL list pretty easily. I think I might use Anilist going forward as it looks nice, though I will probably run into the same problem I had with MAL which is forgetting to update what shows I have watched (and that is not even scratching all the shows I have forgotten I have watched over the years).

That's a shame, I really loved everything I've seen so far. I still have to see the last 6 episodes of season 2 though.

Thankfully there's a way to automate keeping your list updated: Taiga
You can sync it to your AniList account and enable media recognition for both media players and streaming sites. So you just watch your things and it will keep your list updated for you.
