I came across this video as I was showing the game to a friend. It highlights the emergent stories possible in Kenshi. I highly recommend watching it if you're interested in it at all.

I get Steam Forums can sometimes be a shitshow but I do wonder how can Valve employ so many people to moderate literally thousands of forums.

I could't tell you the last time I visited those. :giggle:
Conversely, I couldn't tell you the last Steam game I didn't check out the forums.

Hell, even when I don't purposefully navigate over there, half of the top Google search results for my questions/technical issues usually end up redirecting to the Forums.

Maybe that's just because I play a ton of simulation/puzzle/management style games, but those forums end up being really helpful a lot of times.

I guess I said it wrong. I typically check them for activity, but I don't really use them.

Pack it all up, the good times for Switch are over. The curation, it didn't do anything.

Actually it's one of those 'why were you so mean to beloved Vita, look what Switch has become' threads.

That thread was conceived under console wars pretenses and it is still going.

That OP is hella inflammatory, but I don't actually think it's that wrong about the eShop getting a pass.

The Vita was dumped on (pretty rightly though IMO) for becoming a dumping ground for skeevy, weirdo games. And now the Switch eShop is becoming a dumping ground for skeevy, weirdo games, as well as a lot of generic trash, and that's basically gone uncriticized. We can have a million op-eds about how trashy Steam's curation is, how horrible all the sex games on there are, but then we have "family friendly" Nintendo letting hordes of shit onto their storefront, with like 1/10th the filtering options than Steam.

crickets

Despite some people claiming it, i can safely say the violence in Zanki Zero was NOT censored.

It would be nice if Valve could somehow figure out a way for us to resell games without publishers throwing a fit and also finding a way for it to make sense, since there's no limited supply in a digital world. I still think someone will figure it out eventually and it's going to be a big deal when it happens.

On the more realistic side it'd be nice if they could overhaul the achievement system. At the very least let me view the hidden achievements without trying to find a guide online somewhere.

Funnily enough, I never had issues with GAF moderation (I mean, we had Stump and Jshackles and JaseC dream team there to represent us), but ERA in comparison seems to be run by a clique of spiteful, retarded (wo)manbabies.
I don't recall ever a situation on GAF where a mod entered a community thread, started stirring shit up and then closed the thread when people started to question that behaviour.

I wasn't a mod on GAF (I actually wouldn't be a mod on Era if I were, due to policy). I was never nominated, either, as I found out some time after what would be the final batch of pre-exodus promotions. I just posted a lot, haha.

I'm curious, fam: is PC gaming anyone's sole hobby?

Nope.

I game on consoles and handhelds as well 😇

No seriously, I guess gaming is my only "hobby" . But that doesn't mean I'm not doing anything else of course. I go out and do fun stuff with my wife and kid and/or friends and/or family every weekend. I watch a lot of movies and series on Netflix. I have a full-time job. I go to concerts and EDM/rock festivals. And I'm following a "renovation" class once a week to learn how to do more complex stuff in my house (electricity, plumbing, gyproc walls/ceilings etc). I don't really have time for another hobby at the moment.

Ugh so disappointed in Jeff Gerstmann not getting the egs backlash and even sounding hostile against it with "it's just another launcer!". In the latest bombcast.

Give the man a break, he tried going against corporate overlords and paid dearly. He now understands better that it is easier to sing the songs of billion dollar companies than going against them ;)

this kinda looks like 3D shmup

Managed to kill that bull in Sekiro, what a fucking mess that was. What I hated the most was that just after it, there's two more enemies, no breathing room. And shortly after there's those two guys who comes to you from the sky. That's even more fucked up. I had to skip that mini-boss with a lance though, no way to beat that guy with what I have at the moment.

Now I think that I'll start Ace Attorney.
