So I persevered with The Surge, managed to take out those security bots (kind of easy as long as you have enough space to constantly move around), and finished the third area.
This game is really nice, and you get into a nice flow after awhile. I still think the map is labyrinthine and shortcuts are strangely paced. At times you get a shortcut every five minutes, next you run around for an hour without finding any shortcuts at all.

I want to like Puyo but setting up chains and combos is too much of a galaxy brain for me to actually succeed in. Does this version add anything substantial in comparison to Puyo Puyo Tetris if you're not going to play multiplayer anyway?

I plan to give Dishonored 2 as a whole another run, and for that mission I really plan to go for the "ghost" route, where Jindosh doesn't even know you are there.

Such an amazing mission, and certainly the most interesting level I have ever seen in an immersive sim.
I actually got the 'Silence' achievemenr (not pulling the levers to change the mansion layout), it was intense.

“Overall the U.S. and EU have been equally strong in sales. We have had 70,000 people playing at once across all platforms, with very similar distribution among PC (Epic Games Store), PS4 and Xbox. What surprises us is the fact that sales outside of the US on the Epic Store have been so strong, with the US being only one quarter of sales.”
Another 'it sold well!' without citing numbers EGS 'hit'. And 70k for 3 plaftorms is kinda...not good. But hey they sold 1mil.

23+k per platform isn't too bad, but it's definitely not a smash hit by any metric. We'll see if it's going to grow or die faster than Artifact.

Game was pretty cheap for some regions outside the US, that might explain why the game sold worst on US, for a store that focused on the US market, thats not very good.

another statement that says absolutely nothing

they make it sound like it's "similar numbers per each platform" ... but then you look closer and that's just concurrent players .... ZERO info about platform split

and then of course you have to remember that all the "influencers" are also counted in that "similar distribution" split (and to become one you only need like 1000 followers on twitter, which is nothing)

so ... yeah ...

It would help if they mention how many copies sold on EGS, regardless of region.
Unless they are saving it for an official financial report or some shit.

... at least 23k ;) although - possibly less since they count all the influencers who got the game for free towards that number as well

in other words - we simply have no idea

A breakdown of the platfoems would help. I think it would be something like PS4 > PC > Xbox

Edit: for some reason I quoted the wrong post and said the same you said in the post you quoted me, oops.

Epic also doesn't offer any services (for now) to developers that benefit users. (Their "online services" seemingly only consist of hardware survey)

Leaderboards? Host your own
Stats? Host your own
Matchmaking? Host your own

It works, but how long will dev pay for servers? Games using Steam will work until Steam goes down.
Once game stops making money, you might as well close servers.

Even Sony does this and they charge monthly fee.

And people defend this in age of virtualization where you can spin instances only when someone actually plays game, run many instances on single server or rent 4CPU 8GB for $0.102 per hour. (and run multiple instances on that)

With 8 players, 20 minutes match that's less than $0.005 per hour per gamer or around 2000 hours for monthly cost of PSN monthly sub.
And that's assuming one instance of game needs 4 CPUs and 8GB memory, which it probably doesn't.
But without accounting for storage or bandwidth and that no time is wasted between games.

But point was that it's really not that significant. Yet people still seem to think servers are super expensive rocket science.
Of course for single indie dev $10 is a lot if game is not making any money.

At least you guys will get Steam keys for your upcoming Bethesda games
Aren't they bethesda net keys though?. Steam copies only from Steam.

Trying to extract hard sales info for EGS is kind of a puzzle game on itself :)

The "with very similar distribution" being about the concurrent players is really sneaky... eesh.

So again, we know nothing concrete about EGS sales. However, between using "influencers" and the multiplayer focus, my guess is that this is very frontloaded and if that's the case those aren't very impressive numbers.

And as always I find the fact that the store that has the guy from SteamSpy as one it's faces is trying so hard to hide the numbers ironic... to say the least.

So copies actually purchased of the PC ver. of the game are 23,000 copies or less.
The exact number of copies purchased by paying customers is unknown.

One wonders how many copies Risk of Rain 2 and Forager, at least have sold thus far. Someone should contact the developers and ask if they could share this info.

if it was on steam - yeah, probably ... without steam, though ... eh, i'm not so sure

but maybe that's also true even without steam ... who knows

corporations always try their hardest to hide numbers when they're bad ...

So copies actually purchased of the PC ver. of the game are 23,000 copies or less.
nah, they're probably way more than that .... 100k maybe? i would be EXTREMELY surprised if it was anywhere near 300k tbh

I tried playing Dishonored 2 last month and it didn't grab me at all. I never finished the first one but got like halfway through. I only got through the first real level. The island asylum or whatever. Should I power through? Combat seemed pretty poor, stealth was pretty standard, stories dumb, is level design the big thing that's actually worthwhile? I'm pretty picky about games but I enjoyed both Deus Ex and Prey. Although I never finished Prey either.
