There was apparently a leak of some kind half a year ago:

Of course, hard to say how much one can rely on this
Tyler McVicker is a sketchy source. I'm not saying he's wrong about Neon Prime, but take his words with a grain of salt. At the same time he's the only person I know of who has described NP's possible gameplay.

Tyler McVicker… hmm.

I don’t want to say he’s wrong, because he does get some stuff right, but yeah.

And if it’s how he’s described it, I’m not interested. Does Valve seriously need another multiplayer game?

I assume there is a team at Valve working on an Alyx sequel, alongside the VR headset team who are developing a follow-up to the Index. But of course, who knows when that could be done. And likely of little to no interest to people who don't care about VR (though given how there is a mode that makes Alyx fully playable on non-VR machines, the same will surely materialise for again).

This multiplayer game sounds like the parts of Valve who worked on TF2 wanting a new type of game. It's been over a decade that Valve made a new big multiplayer game, not counting CS2 here which feels more like a relatively conservative update to an existing game. Neon Prime, going by the description, sounds like something completely different for Valve. Sure, it's multiplayer, but base building and large open world type stuff doesn't sound like anything they have done before.

Who knew having your business revolve around 0% interest rates and verbal agreements with Saudi Arabia was a bad idea?
That will always get a chuckle out of me. We had a 'verbal' agreement.
Like, I wouldn't even want you running my budget, my dude.

Well i guess that i am adding Ubiquiti U6+ AP to my home network this week. Let's see if things will improve compared to my current router setup. i am mainly trying to switch to AP that i can mount on ceiling to get rid of big router on the shelf XD And i hope that better manufacturer like Ubiquiti can provide better coverage.

Once I sell my flat and get a new home I’ll be looking to get PoE wired around my house and through my ceilings for a similar thing.

Be sure to share how you get on with the Ubiquiti setup because that’s the one that interests me the most.

Well who could’ve guessed this was a scam?

Company will disappear and Valve will be carrying the can for this in terms of refunds.

A most spectacular grift that will in no way, shape or form make things harder for legitimate developers going forward.

just played 43 minutes of that game so I guess I can call for a refund. This week releases Koumajou Remilia II: Stranger’s Requiem, HunterX: code name T, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and Witch on the Holy Night, so nice ^^.

The Day Before has been delisted HOLY MOLY JOLLY
I wonder if that was the developer or Valve pulling the plug.

I know Valve tends to be hands off with even the most poorly-rated games on Steam (and I think their rationale of letting reviews and refunds resolve a lot of these issues makes sense), but there comes a point where you've gotta step in and nuke an obvious grift.

So the devs cashed in on a couple hundred thousand worth of sales and called it a day? Seems really low effort and pointless.

It really shows how powerful marketing can be in this industry. All it took was one really impressive eye catching trailer and you become #1 most wishlisted game on Steam. People really desperate for that genre. Naughty Dog really missed out with that TLOU multiplayer thing going into dev hell. With their resources and polish they would have blown up on Steam. It would have been legit too.

As for the Neon Prime leak it sounds amazing but kind of disappointing if its 3rd person. Its not stated that its a shooter but sounds kinda like it so 3rd person is weird.

TLOU Factions, especially the early iterations before excess pay to win style monetization, was essentially a perfect multiplayer game, and this is coming from someone who plays a lot of multiplayer shooters. It had a great reputation and an existing dedicated fanbase. Great word of mouth. If they had just released it as an updated MP, it would have been a huge hit. If they expanded it, or even released it separately as a free to play title on PC, it would have been super popular. I really don't understand how they managed to fuck this up. They had a great, working, well regarded game, and they only reason it's not played anymore is because it's on old hardware? So stupid.
