Twitch reverses stance on adult content, will allow animated nudity
Twitch has finally clarified and updated their forever-confusing policy on adult content for content creators, surprisingly reversing course to allow more adult content.

The new policy changes, which stem from confusion with some users and/or games being banned and others aren’t, mostly came from the fact that Twitch had two separate policies in their Community Guidelines, for sexual content.

To improve things, they’ve combined both policies and removed redundant language and were updated to make it more clear what content needed a “Sexual Themes Label,” and what didn’t.

Twitch is also now allowing the following content which was previously prohibited entirely:

“Fictionalized (drawn, animated, or sculpted) fully exposed female-presenting breasts and/or genitals or buttocks regardless of gender. There is a thriving artist community on Twitch, and this policy was overly punitive and did not reflect the impact of the content.”
“Content with a focus on fictionalized (drawn, animated, or sculpted) sexual body parts regardless of gender (such as doing nude figure drawing) are allowed with a Sexual Themes Label. However, fictionalized sexual acts or masturbation remain prohibited.”
Body writing on female-presenting breasts and/or buttocks regardless of gender. The Twitch Attire Policy already allows body art on breasts and buttocks, so this change makes these policies consistent.
Erotic dances that involve disrobing or disrobing gestures, such as strip teases.
Popular dances, such as twerking, grinding, and pole dancing are now allowed without a label. Previously some dances were prohibited and others were allowed with a label. Enforcing on dances regardless of context meant our policy prohibited twerking at a wedding or taking a pole dancing exercise class, for example. The policy now takes context into consideration, and only prohibits streaming inside of an adult entertainment establishment.
When it comes to gaming though, Twitch is still not allowing games that focus on sexual content or games that have been modified to have sexual content, even including nude patches that fans love doing:

We handle nudity in games in two ways. First, games featuring nudity, pornography, sex, or sexual violence as a core focus or feature are entirely prohibited. Custom gameplay or visual modifications that include nudity or sex content, including uncensored patches, in otherwise allowed games are prohibited. Learn more about prohibited games.

Second, for games where nudity is not the core focus or feature, the Mature-rated Games Content Classification Label is sufficient for incidental nudity. However, the Sexual Themes Label must be applied to gameplay that focuses on nudity. Learn more about the Mature-rated Games Content Classification Label.

Users may not engage in simulated sexual activity or erotic roleplay with other players in online games. Games that primarily consist of user-generated content, in-game roleplay, or interactions in virtual reality are not exempt from this policy.
This means Twitch will keep their list of banned games like Yandere Simulator but egirls like Amouranth are now allowed to openly poledance for dollars.

To be clear, this also means artists are now allowed to draw or model full blown nudity, live on Twitch, though they’re still not allowing fictional depictions of sexual acts or masturbation.

The new policy changes are still more of the same, which many users note is a double standard with sexual content in gaming – most especially Japanese games – and egirls that use sexuality to earn sadboy dollars.

Dumb question:

If Disney so choose to, could they just down right get rid of Kingdom Hearts? Are they the ones with the final say and not Square Enix?

Like if Bob was really pissed one of these days and saw some Kingdom Hearts stuff and just said "enough" I am getting rid of all this.

Square Enix, Masters of growing an audience, strike again.
Was really excited for getting Kingdom Hearts finally on PC, but it will soon be 3 years and no Steam version in sight and I think I just don't care at all anymore.
Whenever it eventually hits Steam I'll probably just continue waiting until it hits heavy discounts.

Good luck with selling Kingdom Hearts 4 in the future.

I have played Kingdom Hearts II like 10 times, and I will play it a million more times. I will absolutely play it, for it is the greatest and most well designed action rpg ever created. Mere mortals cannot fathom its absolute perfection. I simply cannot not play it!
....And I guess the other games are pretty good too. Might play them one more time. I guess. Maybe.
Sure KH2 (specially the FM version) has de best combat it's all downhill from there. After playing 3D I got burned from the series so

i would have bought the series at that absurd price if they released it the same day on Steam tbh, even 1 year later.
I'm not sure I'll ever purchase it though at this point since it's stuck in EGS hell

Yes, Kingdom Hearts and its original characters belong to Disney, not to Square Enix

I was pointed towards this:

A browser extension which points you towards independent wikis and replaces search results from content farms (like fandom), which usually have better SEO.

Seems to do exactly what it is supposed to, and is highly configurable, so I recommend it!
This is cool. Thanks!

I really wanted to try Kagi, which is a premium search engine with some really cool features... like Lenses or the fact that they aggregate and clearly label listcles... but their pricing is ridiculous! 300 searches per month for 5$... I do thousands*** of searches per month (the counter goes up fast when you tweak your search query by adding words or when you make stupid typos because you're on your phone...). 10$/month for unlimited searches is a bit too rich for my blood (I think they lowered the price, I think it used to be 25$ for unlimited searches).

***I don't know if this is available in every browser, but in Vivaldi you can easily filter your history to count how many times you used google in a month.

Me last week: I just need to get PoE Adapter and Access Point to replace this dumb router.

Me day after installing AP: Hmmm I mean I could just check how much it would cost do get Ubiquiti Gateway and Switch. And while I am on their site I could just check how much it would be to add storage and their cameras XD

Getting modular tech is curse. I went same route with my Ender 3 V2 3D printer (that is now upgraded a lot).

DDD is a step down to be sure, but I feel it makes up for it with its kind of silly and OP mobility. Flowmotion lets you get away with basically going wherever you want very quickly without much getting in your way. Too much so; it trivializes the platforming. But then again, KH platforming isn't its strong suit I feel, so its just kinda fun zipping around the stage climbing up platforms you aren't supposed to. Plus we got 3D TWEWY characters and Mickey getting slammed into a wall.

Creative Assembly is doing an apology tour for the last few years. They're promising more and better updates to Warhammer 3. Also they're also offering partial refunds for Pharaoh which I don't think I've ever seen on Steam before.

Our next update, and what was originally our first paid DLC will release early in 2024 as a free update for everyone who owns the game. We'll have plenty to show you about this now free addition to PHARAOH in the new year.
I guess is because they're making the dlc free.
Tho, it seems they're also lowering the base game price.

I had the frank reynolds "so you come crawling back you cheap sack of shit" scene in my head while reading this.

They do need a big shake up though. People think a lot of CA's problems are recent but if you're a long time total war fan it's hard to remember a time when total wars didn't launch with severe issues. You'd get a few games in pretty good shape like shogun 2 and three kingdoms but the majority going all the way back to Empire total war were hot messes and only sometimes got better after a year of patches.

But you can only do that to a fanbase for so long before they get fed up with you and to be honest they're lucky they got away with it as long as they did. Empire total war, which was the first TW I can remember with huge issues at launch, was 2009 ffs. And over the years they've gotten worse with dlc practices on top of incomplete releases. They took advantage of a massively dedicated fanbase and also being the only IP of its kind around (to this day no strategy game really plays like TW) and thought they could coast on that forever.

I tried some Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising last night (game came out just early enough that I thought I could play a bit, but late enough that it was a bad idea. I'm so tired today.) I had fun, but damn, ArcSys will never release a fighting game where the online package feels complete. GBVSR has no pre-match connection indicators at all. Forget a wifi indicator, you can't even tell if your ping is going to be decent before going into a match. It's so strange to me that ASW were the first big JP dev to get on board with rollback, but they constantly fuck up everywhere else. I mean, Strive's lobbies are still busted trash after 3 years. I don't understand it.

Whining aside, the game seems cool. I tried out Nier, the new puppet character, and she's great. She spends the whole match looking like she's having a mental breakdown while Death runs around doing most of the fight for her. Death's design is so dope. If Granblue wasn't gacha trash, I'd try it just for her.

Crazy to think that Disney owns Sora, I guess this explains why he was technically in the Chip n Dale movie that came out on Disney+ a few years ago.

Hate to be that guy but what we're seeing at Embracer, and what we saw throughout this year, is just the tip of the iceberg. The wave of layoffs and bankruptcies we'll see next year is shaping up to be unprecedented, not in the game industry specifically but all around.
We're entering the find out phase of the fuck around building the whole economy on the basis of low interest rates were here to stay theory.

Unless they have a surprise mega-hit in the next few months or a last-minute cash injection, I think Embracer as we know it is finished. They've been trying to stop the bleeding since before the summer but the pace of layoffs and studio closures is increasing the longer it goes on.
