New week, new thread! What are you playing?

Girls' Frontline 2 closed beta occupied all my gaming time last week. Impressions are in the OT so not reposting here. In short, it is everything I wanted, and I felt emotional to finally get my hands on this game. It was such a long wait since the game's 2018 tease and 2020 reveal.

I implore you to join us on this new GFL adventure when it, likely, launches in early December. For now, I will let the gifs to do the talking. :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-tightly-closed-eyes:

Finished Kingdom Hearts 2. The story is weaker and more convolute than I remember, but the game itself is still really fun. 358/2 days would be next, but I'm probably gonna skip cause that's just a cutscene compilation and I don't think I have it in me to watch 2+ hours of that.

Game-adjacent I've started reading the story of Girl's Frontline 1 with a cutscene interpreter and it's been pretty good so far.

Over the weekend I've been playing a lot of Heaven Burns Red, and while the comedy is a bit hit or miss for me, it's been turning out to be more hit than miss and I am enjoying myself, altough I don't care at all about the gameplay part of it, so I'm probably not going to be playing this long-term (I am story first, but I do need to enjoy the gameplay to some extent or I'm not gonna last in games that want daily/weekly engagement)

AC Valhalla and Case of the Golden Idol.

I've pacified England in AC and hunted the order down, so now I have some side stuff remaining before I do the DLC. I've not looked at the achievements too closely, but depending on how close I am when all is said and done, I might 100% the thing. We'll see. 193 hours in. :cold-sweat:

As for Golden Idol, I finished the main game and started the first DLC case. Still good. :thumbsupblob:

I crave for shooty shooty bang bang after spending weeks of playing turn-based games, so I subscribed to Game Pass and installed Gears of War 2. With the enhancement and FPS boost, It plays really well.

It's my comfort food. :blobpraise:
Thanks to our conversation I bought and started Assassin's Creed Origins on Xbox. I was a huge fan of the series during AC2 and its subsequent games but was not able to catch up to the pace of release. I haven't played any AC games post-Black Flag (touched Unity early game but did not progress much) so this is totally new to me. Wow, this game is near 7 years old but the graphics are lovely! Art is top-notch even in today's standard. Stealth seems to be more difficult than past games? I will probably get used to it because this new style of AC is still fresh to me. Anyway, very enjoyable. :thumbsupblob:

Edit: Btw, I zoomed out the map from the starting location and... oh shit the map is fucking huge.

Yeah the games got big when they transitioned to open world. I've actually wondered how the city size compares to the earlier games. Like, if you take every settlement, village, city and whatever from Origins and combine the area into one blob, how would that size compare to Venice or Rome from earlier games, for example.
