So next FromSoft game gonna be exclusive to PS5/6 for 1-2 years and then it will hit Steam.

Xbox and Nintendo owners will probably be shit out of luck.
Normally I would treat any rumors of Sony acquiring Kadokawa with a grain of salt since it would most likely be coming from some rando on Twitter but in this case since it's Reuters reporting this it's most likely going to happen.

Edit: This is me guessing but I would imagine that Miyazaki would prefer independence rather than being under Sony. I think From Software has experienced a boon over these last 10 years of having a multi-plat strategy rather than being exclusive to PlayStation.

But why? What are you trying to achieve?
Yeah, that feels weird. I could understand it if it's mods (I'm no stranger to spending hours on creating massive modlists for Skyrim and stuff and then not playing them much, lol) but settings? I will go through the settings once when starting the game and configure them how I want to, which takes a couple minutes at most and then possibly tweak graphics settings a bit more when I am actually in-game but that, too, takes another couple minutes at most and then I'll never touch them again.

I think Erdtree being allowed is fine in principle, but then this needs to apply to all similarly sized DLC as well, now and in the future.
(Of course, then someone has to define/decide "similarly sized")
In general, I don't care about any of these awards at this point.
I'm not sure how I feel about it, but it's certainly better than putting it into the "Best Ongoing" category. No, bugfixes and a DLC is not on-going. Phantom Liberty winning that over actual live-games releasing new stuff constantly was embarassing.

Swen and Larian must be so pissed they couldn't/didn't make a large BG3 expansion.

That shit would have easily won goty lol.
I don't think they give a shit tbh.

I honestly don't care either way, but personally I don't think that an expansion for an existing game should be nominated. Just create a category for best dlc. Mixing expansions with new standalone releases doesn't make sense to me.

Can we talk about doing a game of the YEAR show, before even YEAR ends?

STALKER 2, MFS2024, Fantasion Neo Dimension, and few more are still left to release.

Stalker 2 and Flight Sim are eligible (check the FAQ / November 22). Flight Sim not being playable yet for reviewers/anyone is on MS IMO.

Fantasian is a port with VO/new difficulty. I know many didn;t play it on Apple Arcade, but yea it is a port in the end. (I pre-ordered on Steam already).

While I already posted this link in the EGS thread about Alan Wake 2's sales, I was just going to point out Control 2 is supposed to be an an action RPG. I know the first game dipped their toes into it (to its detriment IMO), but if they fully commit to the concept it could be cool. Assuming Control 2 releases on Steam day 1

I tried Quake again after Quake 2 and I seem to get intermittent low fps instances. Rivatunrer/AB still report unwavering 60fps vsynced but it very clearly dips way below that in the game. I thought maybe motion blur or model interpolation settings borked but it's the same regardless of turning those off. Idk. Hard to find solutions since I just get search results about people with real performance issues not just visual drops while the engine reports 60fps still...

They're not dumb enough to sabotage the pc numbers of From games.

Xbox players are fucked though, all 8 of them still remaining. Nintendo fans already don't get their games so you can't lose what you never had.

Oof, Farming Sim 25 has already outsold Alan Wake II. At some point Epic are going to have to release AWII on PC

After a long, arduous journey for the developer, the mod that removes the cutscene FPS cap on Kingdom Hearts 2 is out!

It also does a crap load of other things, many of which will be nice for speedrunners.

They can try, I'll use it if it's okay (same policies, refunds etc.) and they don't do Tim's bs (Steam is evil for wanting a cut, give us a cut instead!).

Just call it how it is, you wanna publish on PC and get the whole pie if you succeed, which you will try in every way like exclusives, that's all it is.

Also when they give up again and go back to Steam like everyone they should show some good will and transfer your game licenses to Steam :p

People keep talking about From games and what will happen to them under Sony if they buy Kadokawa, but at least From games can fit in the big blockbuster AAA Sony loves to do (and not even Sony is not dumb enough to try to make an Elden Ring gaas)
But the real danger are Acquire and Spike Chunsoft which on the other hand will be "dead weights" since they make a type of anime games (like Danganronpa) or lower budget games (Octopath) completely different compared to what Sony usually releases, especially content-wise
And that's without even taking into consideration the massive amount of Light Novel ips Kadokawa currently owns

You know, you would think after seeing the EGS most people would have realized how much money and workforce it actually takes to run a launcher considering not even Fortnite money helped that be more than the bare minimum (or how the whole "Valve does nothing but to sit on their ass all day" is complete bullshit). Kinda like how many still believe that certain genres are "easier" to make and should have smaller price points
By all means, if their plan is to flush millions down the drain, let Sony make their own launcher. I'll give it a year before it shuts down

yeah I mainly hated the steam controller because it felt like holding some weird shit, if they make a version that's not weird I might buy it again

I hope it has the same overall shape -- or something even better that's also "weird". If "weird" means "different from the norm".

There are already tons of controllers that feel exactly the same, with extremely minor differences in things like button or stick shape and travel.
The Steam controller -- when held correctly, rather than trying to hold it like you would hold a differently shaped controller -- is the only controller with 2 shoulder buttons on each side ever made where it feels natural and comfortable for me to hold it in a way that allows me to actuate all its controls without changing my grip.

Yea but Switch still got some of the recent old ports.

And Switch 2 will be at least as powerful as the Deck which easily runs Elden Ring and AC6.

Whatever From is working on now is probably gonna run on PS5/Deck so it could run on Switch 2. I think that market could be huge for them but if Sony acquires them they will prioritize PS over everything else.

Miyazaki will wind up being what Todd Howard is now after MS picked up Bethesda. I don't think Sony gives him too much power. Hopefully enough to let him support PC day one.

If I am Microsoft I push for a bunch of exclusive deals with From/Kadokawa right before the acquisition happens. The same way Sony went after Deathloop and Ghostwire. That is probably the only way they can get the next game on Xbox :ROFLMAO:
