I thought that was already the case but devs just don't use that feature.
Which part are you referring to?
If audio, yeah, like I said there's a way to make it so you only download one language depot, I think the only option I have seen used there is to set it to only download the language depot that matches the users Steam language. Not sure if other options also exist.
If Deck, there's definitely some stuff on the API side where devs can "detect" steamdeck, but in there I'm also not sure what their options are beyond setting bunch of default settings.

Like just doing an installer similar to the old classic regular desktop application installers.
Setting up textures for example, you would put all your different quality textures in their own depots and packages, and on install you would prompt the user to select one or more of the options. Same with the audio stuff, instead of picking a depot that most closely matches your steam language, just ask the user which one/s they want.

Maybe it's all already possible and no one uses it. :minos_sad:

Why are all the enemies in Stalker 2 such incredible bullet sponges?

I can live with the bugs and and the performance, but i can't live with a mutant getting 10 shotgun shells to the face at point blank range and then one shotting me right after
My guess is that that the developers made them bullet sponges as a crutch because the AI is very basic and combat would be trivial if they died more easily. I saw a few gameplay videos and it seems that most creatures just run straight at you.

Glad a waited to play them ever since 999 and VLR broke my mind.
Hope it doesn't get "cuts" and "alterations"
Ever17 has the new story portions from Xbox360 remake. Not sure if those are good but I would take it.
The “remastered version” retains the 2D character expressions from the original game, while rebuilding the outfits and opening movie from the remake in 2D. Additionally, the new scenarios elements introduced in the remake have been incorporated, making this the definitive edition of Ever17.

Finally done with Silent Hill 2 remake. Very mixed feelings about it. The longer it went the more it soured me on it.

There's a decent bundle on Steam right now that includes all 3 Danganronpa games and Rain Code+ at 55% off. If you own all the Danganronpa games it effectively becomes a 55% discount on Rain Code+ alone. The game released just 4 months ago hasn't been cheaper than 10% off before this.

Important to note that this bundle will end before the Autumn sale starts in 2 days so you won't be able to get a further discount on it.

Ever17 - The Out of Infinity & Never 7 - The End of Infinity are getting new remastered releases for PS4, Switch, & Steam on March 6, 2025. It will support English, Japanese, & Traditional Chinese languages.
Ever 17 is my favorite VN ever. I am man enough to admit that I cry every time like a baby at the end credits.

€dit: I see I am a little late to the party. Thought I am the only silent nerd who appreciated Ever 17.
999 and VLR never came close to it, but for some ungodly reason people like those more.

Finally beat Unravel last night and started Unravel Two. I think the games hold up amazingly from a visual standpoint, but I really think both would have worked better as pure cinematic platformers. We will see if Two changes my mind, but the first game is just too unreliable with the physics at times and some of the puzzles can grind the momentum to a halt. If the gameplay had the polish and smooth flow of something like Limbo/Inside, it would have been fantastic. Additionally, the levels feel like they should seamless transition from one to the next, but both games always force you back to the hub each time which I don't care for.

Also interesting: the first game is capped at 80 fps which felt fine with VRR and an FPS I'm happy with in super high end games (like SW Outlaws), but going up to that crispy 120 fps in the sequel really feels great.

I am really enjoying my Meta Quest 3S, but the damn app and gaming store is a mess. They are running a Black Friday sale right now that has unlimited 40% off discount code for select games and an unlimited 45% off for those who have a Quest+ subscription. That's the only discounts that are available and it's also a target sale so not everyone will be able to access the sale. It just doesn't make any sense to host a sale and not allow everyone to take part in it.

Yep. Sadly no way to upgrade to deluxe either. Kind of annoyed the Rain Code soundtrack isn't available on streaming or iTunes to buy yet either. Incredible soundtrack.

Who wants [...] LOTR Musou
Certainly not me. Unfortunately, given the state of mind of the right holders, it could happen any days now.
Going from the purist son to some Games Workshop whoring out of the IP. Who needs middle ground ? :confounded-face:

regional pricing and pricing in general in some places.
Yeah bad price and bad regional pricing is typical aaa publisher bullshit.
782 NOK ($70) is pretty ridicules. Its 899 NOK ($80) on console wtf.

Give me a Indie dw game.
Survivors-likes scratches the same itch but i would love a dw style wuxia game

It's not worth the time it takes to play it
Care to elaborate? This was on my preliminary shopping list for the Winter Sale and as it is not on Keysites the current discount is unlikely to be deeper next month.
