This is definitely the most unexpected announcement. I was a big fan of the Pizza Cats. Wild timespan since the Famicom release.
I guess this IP must have a big following? Why else make a licensed video game, unless it was the IP holder that payed for the video game to be made.
It's an Anime from the early 90s, with about 50 eps total. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyatto_Ninden_Teyandee
I think the IP is incredibly obscure with a very small following exclusively of the olds and there's nothing going on with the IP and Tatsunoko certainly isn't thinking about Pizza Cats in 2025.

Oh wow, it really was just 'knows someone that knows someone'. The game is being made on cel animation...

Decided to get back to my Uplay backlog and play AssCreed Origins and Odyssey.

I started these games years back and played through a bit of them here n there. But never finished them. Never even reached the mid point of them.

And omg they have so much content. The maps are so large and there are islands and locations everywhere. So many icons, points of interest and questions marks. So many quests :dizzy-face: And this isn't even factoring in DLC.

I will say Bayek and Kassandra are great. The story and writing is fun/solid. The leveling in these games is kind of ridiculous tho. It feels so tedious and overdesigned. Like singleplayer mmos.

I feel bad that I still haven't played Valhalla and Mirage so I need to get through these first before doing the newer ones.

And Shadows coming soon I feel like I am so behind on this shit. I really didn't play ubi games for so many years. So much AAA junk food to get to.

Also Ubisoft isn't really doing good these days. The company stock and value is kind of in the toilet. Feels like they are one more big flop away from fully collapsing on themselves. Who knows how long Uplay is even around before they shut this thing down lol. I have much more of their games on their launcher compared to steam too.

Also its called Ubisoft connect now...? Ehhh I liked Uplay better.

It's only on sale for a few more hours but damn I'm glad I took a chance on Bloomtown over the weekend.

Was looking for pixel-cozy and I got that and so much more.

Some describe it as a pixelated mini-Persona. I'd say that tracks.

More broadly Boomtown comes from the Graveyard Keeper dev. So you're getting a nice life-sim / jrpg hybrid with Stardew, Stranger Things & Persona influences. All set in 60's USA suburbia.

World looks charming, character animations are sick. Clever writing that feels authentic to the younger age of the cast. Great soundtrack too.

Capcom will probably need an engine swap or serious optimizations if it intends to make mostly open-world games. The RE engine doesn't seem up to the task in its current form.
Yeah that is so weird to see because before with RE 7, RE2 Remake it felt so optimised, hell I could play those games on my old MacBook Pro 2017 with them looking good and playing alright.

I thougth the same when I played world on base PS4. Even though Wilds on PS5 is massively better than World was on PS4 Pro back then, it still needs more work. Still, the beta prepped me for the worst lol.

Lol why do you think Larian wanted nothing to do with them for a sequel or DLC with Baldurs gate 3

The fact that we got another good game in that series was more of a fluke than anything else, well it had more to do with Larian basically begging them to let them do it

I wonder when we hear about Larian's next game. Its been a while now since BG3 came out.

Hoping its not just a Divinity OS3. They should get away from fantasy this time and do something entirely different.

Like a Cyberpunk or Star Wars game would be great. Imagine the BG3 combat and design in the Star Wars universe. All the different characters they could let you create. They could really make a true KOTOR3 if they wanted. And even the SWTOR fans would go crazy for it imo.

I don't think it will be SW because dealing with Disney simply isn't worth it
But the hints for it being their "Mass Effect" are there

I was sending up warning signs on the RE engine like 5 years ago when everyone was saying it was the greatest engine ever because it ran DMC 5, one of the most linear games ever even for genre standards, pretty well (and even then the character models just looked good, the environments were butt ugly). Also when DF showed zombies in RE2 animating at half framerate even when there was just 1 zombie in an otherwise empty hallway.

So I'm not surprised at all to see it completely fall apart on larger games like DD2 and MH. Also the color tone problems is something that has plagued nearly every capcom game to varying levels going all the way back to MH world which also felt completely washed out at the time. I think every dev at capcom is using TN monitors from 2010 while they make their games.

The washed out looking problem is just the bad default gamma settings plus bad description in the brightness settings. When deliberately "misconfigure" it in RE2, it would look decent. Neither crushing the black levels nor over exposing, but you literally had to ignore the instructions. Just crazy how they never got that right

This is actually a common problem across game engines, even if few get it as wrong as Capcpom does

I enjoyed Blasphemous 2 so much, that the first thing I did after finishing it was installing and playing Blasphemous 1 again. Almost everything in that game is perfect for me. I enjoy this kind of games so much more than any AAA title!
I haven't played the original in a long time. Going to review the iOS version soon I think. I enjoyed Blasphemous 2 on Deck.

no, Sony will just raise the prices in the EU.

Fuck them.

If they raise the prices (again) in the EU to compensate for the US costs, the EU should do their own 25-50% Tariffs on ALL Sony (and possibly Microsoft) products as long as EU prices stay above the MSRP from 2024. Those Tariffs will end when the prices get down again.

I know that EU customers will get hit by those tariffs, but what is the alternative? If Sony raises the prices in the EU to combat tariffs in the US, the EU customers will pay the price of US tariffs! And that is fucked up.
