So wife signed us up for a local GYM that opened up here. Its pretty nice..three floors and divided sections of what part you want to focus on. Has machines, free weights, yoga places and so on.

I have no clue as to what I should work on for what days and how many etc? Anybody got any tips?

We are both tall, I am 181cm. Both pretty lightweight to. I am around 70kg.

Help plz

Depends what you want to do.

Build muscle? Lift weights.

Get fitter? Cardio.

I go to the gym a lot less than I should do.

I was just thinking about making a thread like this! :D

Ive started going to the gym just to build muscle, I go like 5 times a week, but Im not there too long. I used to do 2 x four machines 5 times 5 each with a weight that isnt too light. I am going to try do 3 x three or four machines. I assume as long as the muscles feel little sore but not hurting it is all good and is potentially give results.

While I dont concentrate on weightless, I do still go on hour long walks every day.

All in all, I have seen zero results lol! neither on the scale nor on muscles.

There's loads of different advice out there but what has worked for me is like 5 sets per muscle group. 8-10 reps, where the last rep is a real struggle (without sacrificing form) if it isn't a struggle the weight is too light.

Also, protein.

Try to eat a gram of protein per pound of body weight every day.

And rest, rest is when the muscles grow. Training a muscle once a week is enough if you're training hard enough.

Stevey So your total reps is like 50 per gym visit per muscle group, groups do you do per visit? Trying to figure out if Im slacking or not.XD

Yeah as a vegetarian I need to find a good source of protein, dont really want to start with powders but I did see that stores now have like "ham" for sandwiches that is veggie and good source of protein, so might start adding those to my lunches.

Yeah, I'd say 40-50 reps is a decent workout. Or sometimes, just warm up for a few sets, then just do one set with as many reps as you can physically do.

I do chest and biceps one day.

Back and triceps another day.

Shoulders on their own, legs on their own and abs on their own.

(Thats what I aim to do every week) but I don't beat myself up if I miss some stuff. A bad workout is better than no workout.

Do you eat eggs? Theyre decent for protein, also oats and nuts.

I love a mushroom omlette, get 3 or 4 eggs in there! Also scrambled eggs on toast with tomatoes is great.

I just take water with me, dont have anything like that in the gym I go to.

Best advice I ever got was "just turn up, work your ass off, get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable"
