I kinda want this mechanical keyboard:

It's a mechanical keyboard designed like a retro typewriter.

I wanted to buy a new PC this year (mine will be eleven years old next month) but I'm too ignorant and too lost with new components to go for it o_Oo_O

Any recent indies MC feels that others have missed out on?

I played Iron Meat from last year and it is the best Contra game that is not Contra

There were some interesting indies that released and didn't get enough attention.

Janosik 2 is a fun retro platformer

Leximan has you playing as a clumsy wizard that uses words to summon spells.

Au Revoir a point and click adventure that brings some late 90/early 00 vibes.

Still very early in COE33 but goddamn I can understand why people kept raving about the visuals and soundtrack. They are both as gorgeous as it can get.

Parrying is so satisfying and such a rush to pull off. Managed to beat my first boss while parrying everything and it was fantastic. Managing to make progress while playing at the hardest difficulty setting but everything is super tight and precise.

I brought up the budget for Remedy’s next big single-player game, Control 2, which the publicly-traded studio told investors is being developed for €50 million ($57 million), split between Remedy and the Hollywood movies and game production company Annapurna.

I hadn’t been sure what the development costs were for Remedy’s last big singleplayer game, 2023’s multiple Game of the Year award-winning Alan Wake 2.

Then came the surprise.

Alan Wake 2’s budget, compared to Control 2’s, Virtala told me, was “a bit higher.”

Alan Wake 2's budget was rumored to be $70 million.

Whelp, Steam finally doubling down on press account access. Losing that by the end of the month (or immediately, I did just reply). Ah well, I had a good run :)

Hi there!

We're in the process of refining the way we handle press access to Steam's library of games and are reaching out because we've identified that your Steam account currently has that access.

If you are still an active member of the press/media and would like to apply to retain your press access to Steam's library, please reply to this email (kaci@valvesoftware.com) with the below information by May 31st:

Your name
The publication(s) or media you contribute to currently (or most recently)
Links to three recent articles, videos, podcasts, or other media you have authored or contributed to.

We will be reviewing all replies to make sure that all Steam press keys are attached to press accounts, and will respond to you accordingly.

If we don't hear from you by May 31st, your Steam account will remain active but your press access to Steam's library of games will be removed.

Thanks,
The Steam Team

RIP PA ~2005-2025 🕯️(my account is even older obviously, but I believe that's when I got press privileges for some Day of Defeat: Source press preview event).

There were times in the past I thought they ended the program when doing various backend updates and I briefly lost all access but it always came back in the end even though they don't even hand these out much any more as far as I know (and it makes sense most publishers will want manual control and back and forth with the media so they control the messaging rather than let Steam take care of it) but this time it's for real I guess, I doubt my current activity will justify them keeping me on even though I was always just a hobbyist and not a professional save for a few months of work for a couple long gone websites (and mine).

Extensively playing Vampire Survivor these days. I don’t even love it but I can’t overstate how impressed I am by the game design.

And while I am a digital pos who doesn’t know what a real book is anymore, I just discovered the planned lore book and have the weirdest thirst for it.
Will apparently explain ‘Why there are roasted chicken everywhere.’
Sold, motherfucker !

Finished. Great game and the second best thing I've played this year, behind KCD 2.

Massive story spoilers:

I like how the twist was just Star Ocean 3 and the final choice is a spin on Maruki's offer in P5R. I went with the Verso ending because it seemed like a major theme was moving on and accepting grief, and after seeing the Maelle ending I was right.

Not going to bother with the extra content because I want to buy it on Steam at some point, maybe when that rumored DLC comes out. Anyway loved it, there are some janky bits here and there but what a freshman outing from Sandfall.

Patenting gliding on a creature is just ridiculous...
There's probably other factors since tons of other games do it (MH Wilds most recently?). More if we include actual flying. Probably a closer likeness to this or that they deconstruct to semantics and change to slip by. As for making the glider take an item slot, making it so you can't shoot as you could from the creatures you previously rode or whatever, all that seems way out of the scope of creatures and what you do with them and is changes they wanted to do to be honest...
