My grip is mostly on UI, particularly Picto and Lumina menu. I spent a lot of time in managing those two things during the playthrough.
Yeah, the Picto and Lumina menu is especially poor. It feels like it needs a bit of layering across multiple screens or more clearly defined hierarchies, because it's very easy to obscure which menu item is selected on that screen. Especially as different UI elements come in at different sizes.

When I talk about poor UI in the game, I think that menu is probably about 80% of my frustration.

There is an option for the offensive QTEs, maybe they'll patch in something for dodges&parries too down the line, it would require a ton of testing and balancing and even redesigning pictos and builds so i can certainly see how a small team would skip that for now.

Personally i'm more surprised with the "story" mode, i did some testing on a boss and switched through the difficulties and the difference between story and normal was tiny!?!? Felt like i had to do some maths to figure out if there even was one which is definitely not what i expected. Might have been specific to that boss but even then, why?

I also don't like how Verso conveniently replaced Gustave. Felt super weird to control him right after Gustave's death.. The other member should have seriously questioned him, too.
For me, I still think Gustave's death and how the game handled it was cheap, specifically how it was definitely cheaper to pay Ben Starr compared to Charlie Cox, but I guess when your budget isn't endless there is only so much you can do

Yeah. In hindsight, both Gustave and Verso can co-exist in the story. There are tons of other way to convey the suicide mission nature of the expedition. As you have said, I also think it was a budgetary concern to reduce his screen time but then they didn't need to hire Charlie Cox at the first place. I guess the writers wanted a shocking twist in early game so Gustave became the unlucky guy.

Act 2 beginning is honestly my least favorite moment of the game. It should have given us more time to get warmed-up with Verso, especially considering that how impactful the relationships between Sophie and Gustave were in the prologue.

As good and fun as the Oblivion remaster is...playing it really does just push you to replay the recent Bethesda games. Makes you want to put another 100hrs into Skyrim/Fallout4/Starfield. And mod all of them too.

This release is like a drip feed of the drug formula for their fans. You kind of see the method to this madness lol.

I think they are definitely going to remaster/remake Morrowind soon. It was likely greenlit after this remaster released. Along with the Fallout3/NV. Those are coming and wouldn't surprise me if they release before ESVI. Especially if its all outsourced. Its easy money and a nostalgia hit that the IPs need. Meanwhile Bethesda focuses on the last Starfield expansion and finishing up ESVI for like a 2028/29 release.

Edit: Also...all the talk of Expedition 33 being good and hard is giving me life. I can't remember the last time a turn based party rpg of any kind came out with such interesting discussion. Nothing outside of the Larian games over the last decade at least. Some of the convos make it sound like FFXIII with some of the difficulty spikes in that game with mid-late game bosses.

I will likely start E33 up later this month or next. Can't wait.

I'm already waiting for that second wave of players who will play it after all the hype and then storm the net to say that it didn't live up to their expectations.

Finished E33 a few hours ago. Absolutely loved it. Extremely impressive in almost every way. Had some things I hope they patch in like fast travel on the open world and fixing some of the issues where the bloom is too much or lighting just seems broken (had this in 2 areas). Incredible soundtrack, cast, and combat. Now onto the postgame.

I'm far from done but I've also been exploring a lot and doing side stuff.
I love everything about the game. It's gonna be hard for turn based combat to not feel boring after this.

As much as im enjoying The Hundred Line

I still have 25 Endings left, the game is defo too long

I enjoyed the demo but hearing that this game can take 150 hours is making me hesitate. Even with the benefit of playing it on the Deck that's pretty overwhelming.

Are all the ending needed for I guess a "true ending"? I'm playing right now and I finished the
romance
one and got "stuck" on what I think is the main one?

I don't think all of them are (I'm not done yet myself), but some of the story locks require to have seen certain endings before you can continue on them for the true end, i get the impression about a dozen are "required viewing"

The mastodon embed bug is really strange since it doesn't happen with every embed, and there can be posts even on the same page where it works normally and then it doesn't. And the CSS is the same in both cases, just for some reason 100vh is a lot more at times. It's probably javascript issue in the end, it's always javascript.

Yeah I meant for the story lock purposes. Thanks!

I want to play Mass Effect remastered, the first game.

Is it safe to delete the other 2 games after it's installed? Manually, from the game folders. I'm kinda low in storage right now.

So uh, st00pid question but

...Does the default "Balanced" power setting in Windows throttle gaming performance?

Asking because I had to do some tinkering with the advanced Power-Profile options the other day to fix a non performance-related issue my PC was having, it was a total Hail Mary that it actually worked, and I notice that after doing so, some performance-heavy games that had stability issues on my PC seem to be running quite a bit more stable than before.

Like, Stellaris could straight up Hard-Freeze or Bluescreen my PC, and now it isn't in the days since - And those stability issues didn't appear to be because of the 4.0 Update, because everywhere I asked there were no corroborating-reports of such issues.

Specifically, PCI Express Link State Power Management, which I turned off. My Nvidia driver was randomly crashing, and when I Sleep'd or Shutdown my PC, the hardware would still be running after Windows terminated - And, every so often, Windows would, for lack of a better word - Stop Windows'ing. Too many symptoms to list to explain what I mean, that I can only sum up as some Creepypasta shit that looked like a stereotypical idea of a computer virus or a "haunted computer".

And now, well, with the near literal flick of a switch, all of that gone, and previously wonky games suddenly no longer crashing my entire PC.

I don't know specifically about Windows power management but I have a laptop with preconfigured power management profiles from HP and those definitely affect performance. The Balanced setting sends less power to the GPU for example. On a desktop they shouldn't be doing that I think, but with Windows being as problematic as it is these days, I wouldn't rule anything out.
