I think Ubi is done with Steam. EGS-exclusivity made them a lot of new Uplay customers.
Uuuuh
Wouldn't they be the same number of Steam users since ubi games on steam require a uplay account created? It made them more bucks than customers is what I think you're going for.

Yeah, you're right.

I'm not against Ubi going full uPlay exclusivity road, they made these games and it's totally their right to do so, I'm against them hyping Sweeney's trash of a store, even if only 5 people are going to buy their games from EGS, that's still 5 more than should be.

I agree with you about the Ubi situation, at this point I am sure we won't see any Ubi games on Steam for the foreseeable future. I suppose their console numbers will increase because I don't see Pc people moving to their subscription service.

Ya'all do know they released starlink on steam some weeks ago right?
Itll be funny if their games are top sellers on the steam summer sale :v
Of course they will. Won't stop Ubi from making alliances with Epic, I guess they have to get burnt a little before they come into senses.

Going by the reviews (Mixed (46)) barely anyone knows. Or cares. I'll get it at 50% though (which it already is on Uplay), looks like one of those games I'll enjoy a lot more than almost everyone else, just like Steep. But buying games on Uplay? Eh, the client is alright but most of my stuff on there I got via promos like 'buy graphics card, get Division 2 free' and that's how I'll keep handling them. Or get a month of Uplay+ once a year. Another option: Get console version when on sale, sell after playing.

The more serious hypothesis would probably be that nothing is really ready because of the next-gen console and streaming change.
Almost all of those games are cross-gen and/or will release in less than a year, heck, they didn't show gameplay for some stuff that's coming in 2019. I guess they figured it's easier to make a snazzy cgi trailer than to cut together exciting gameplay and people are eaiting everything up anyway.

Pretty much the only console fanboys who aren't annoying of late are actually Microsoft fans who became fairly normal after a down gen.
Don't know man, a bunch of them seem to have a really hard time coping with PC stealing all their exclusives and some of the worst posters in ERA's EpicvsSteam threads are MSboys. But ofc nothing comes close to the outright nastiness and sheer number of Sony stans apparently stricken by a deeply rooted tiny-dick-syndrome. Nintendo is somewhere inbetween and apart from PERFECTFORSWITCH easier to ignore.

Nope. It makes them more Uplay customers. As in, people who actually buy from Uplay as they actively avoid EGS

Paradox 2
... except, unlike Paradox, Frontier don't believe in regional pricing ... and that's not just my observation - they literally said it when they released Elite Dangerous on steam

I got that email twice for some reason. I do hope most people upload new assets, the fallback looks a bit shit :p
the fallback looks fucking awful ... and apparently they're not generated automatically either since pretty much all newly released games don't even have the fallback in the library right now

So, Watch Dogs Legion isn't coming to Steam?
zero chance ... not even after the "co-exclusivity" expires

pretty much, yeah

except for me - i'll never buy anything on uplay ... so i guess that means no more ubi games for me

So, Watch Dogs Legion isn't coming to Steam? They already have EGS page, but nothing on Steam. Honestly, I seriously consider not buying anything from Ubi unless they stop forcing people to use uPlay in a most sadistic way.
Ubi is guaranteed to be out of Steam until March next year, after that they will either renew with Epic, or if Epic isn't interested, they will probably get back releasing their games on Steam. Maybe after a couple months from the uPlay release, who knows.

Unless Epic is only interested in driving Valve out of market, no matter the cost, I don't see them renewing contracts that are essentially a ploy to get people on a different client, but hey, maybe Tim and Gabe have personal issues, who knows.

Subverse? What was that again?

A female cyborg performs fellatio on a bald man who wears panties on his head

:disapproval-blob:

A stunning femme fatale engages in passionate consensual sex with a human male whilst her giant knockers bounce sensually up and down in front of the camera

:face-with-open-mouth:

A psychotic pirate queen dominates a poor smuggler by grinding her buttocks on his crotch whilst gripping his member with her cute heart-shaped tail

:face-with-open-mouth-and-cold-sweat:

Whilst walking past the Laboratory, the player can hear sexually suggestive moans coming from within as a bipedal alien stud called Bulgetto pleasures your Chief Science Officer. There is nothing you can do about this, so don't even try.

:frowning-face-with-open-mouth:

An enigmatic alien known only as Chodestool will engage in doggystyle copulation with various crew members if you forget to feed him

:fearful-face:

A stoned engineer called Dallick proudly lets his tiny penis hang loose as he parades around your ship in a lurid display of free-spirited expression

:thinking-blob:

An enemy faction called the FuccBotts employs spaceships that are shaped like fluorescent dildos in order to ram and destroy their opponents. These FuccBots are considered extremely dangerous.

:huhblob:

The FuccBotts can also deploy ground troops who are robotic soldiers equipped with large sex toys in place of their arms. They will use these sex toys to hit you over the head. Approach with caution.

:surrenderblob:

A crazed German man moans suggestive words as part of a track on the game's soundtrack. We could not stop him in time.

:smart-thinking-blob:

If you are sensitive to any of the above topics we strongly advise caution before playing this game.

:suicide-blob:

Oddly, the ban at Era is gone.
Someone must've realized that they'll run out of unbanned members next week if they keep up their current ban-pace.

Falcon Age, a game that uses Oculus SDK and SteamVR to work on Rift, VIVE and Index is not coming to Oculus Store and Steam, but 1 year EGS exclusive.

That's weird.
Yeah, that was REALLY weird until I heard about that it isn't VR exclusive. Still weird tho.

So if Valve and Facebook changed their minds and only allowed their VR apis to work on Oculus and Steam, Epic would be fucked.

So only reason Epic can sell VR games is because Valve is nice.

Talking about exclusivity when you're asking the public for money is wack. Why not just go to the guys offering the money in the first place?
A lot of the time it's to show any real investors that there's enough interest in the project that they'll get a return on their funding down the road. They use crowdfunding to get access to the real money especially the larger IPs who are trying it. I've been lucky and all my backed projects have worked out fine but EGS have still had a chilling effect on my interest in crowdfunded projects if they're going to change the deal or renege on their commitments just before release.

Sure but doing that while also asking people for their goodwill is eh :/

Not that I care much, because I just use Jumplist or Steam Input chords to start games, but I really hope Valve isn't deluded enough to just shit up their client visually like this.
Then again, echo chambers are apparently a common thing in US tech companies, so we shall see.

Get ready for a GAMING BROWSER.

The GX Control panel is a brand new feature which lets you define how much of your computer’s CPU or RAM you are willing to let the browser use. By toggling on the circle, you can choose to devote a certain percentage of the computer’s resources to the browser. Opera GX will stay within these limits. This means that, unlike other memory-hungry browsers, Opera GX puts you in full control of your gaming and browsing experiences.
Considering how resource hungry modern browser and especially Chrome are that could be a useful feature for some.

I actually got contacted on Reddit by the Opera folks to talk about this. I was 100% confused when I heard about this 'gamer browser'

I'm actually digging that Opera design and concept. I'll try it if I have the time to waste, probably at work sometime later.
