bobnowhere how's the Ryzen? Friend of mine frets over heat issues and I've been trying to tell them that there shouldn't be any.

Chugging along with my 3770k still. Thinking about a new cpu/mobo/ram or a gsync monitor for my next upgrade (they cost roughly the same lol)

Bought a used 1080ti for the same price as a new 1070ti in my country. Seems a lot of miners dump their card after the crash, hah! Bought one that still has a 2 year warranty, Looks and runs like a brand new card, no coil whine and very silent.

It barely gets to 55 deg under full load with the included wraith spire cooler. I haven't overclocked at all but I imagine with an aftermarket closed loop water block you should be be able to give it quite a push.

I also have quite a large case for added air flow.

Potato Power!
Funny that it did test the USB stick :p
Yeah, my wife always plugs the USB stick and forgets to remove it, so I did not even noticed until the benchmark results.

Another one with i5-4440 :D

I wonder how raw the Ray Tracing tools still are for devs and how much they can improve on the performance or do we just have to wait until the GPU's get oomphy enough to see it in general use.

Yep, it's going to be fun to follow the tech and how it potentially improves going forward. I don't have high hopes for it really being viable on this generation of cards though, but it has to start somewhere. Feels a bit like the 90s again, which is fun.

Oh man I hated and loved the 90's. I went through GPU's like a mad man. Even had the Matrox series GPU's to test and twiddle with. Was costly as hell but working my summers in mines and being friendly with the local IT shop owner gave me a lot of leeway to try all the GPU's in my own rig before buying.

That sounds like a pretty good arrangement you had there. I think I started with the Hercules Stingray 128/3D Voodoo Rush, then a Creative Geforce 256, then a bunch of ATI cards, and have pretty much been on Nvidia since the GTX 480.

Really don't miss the graphics API madness of the 90s though.

Can't even remember all the cards I had. At times it felt like you simply needed a new card cause it gave you a single graphical detail the other cards didn't. And btw the Matrox g400 had a stellar image quality when compared to the rest of the cards.
