I just ran six games and received some more points; however, "Upgrade your Boost Meter's capacity or wait until tomorrow to claim your points."

How do I do this?
Capacity = red points = money spent (and 100 points every day at reset)

You can't have more white points than red because they're useless by itself.

I still don't get how any of the sale game stuff works, and the lag between completing things and them showing up is ridiculous

Weird, I'm back to 0 white points again (and still 34000+ red points).

It seems when I make a purchase, my white points reset. o_O
Fortunately, this time I only had 700 points (last time, I appear to have lost 15000).

Ok, so far I have used 7 (?!) €5 vouchers, I still have 26000+ tokens, 34000+ red points, and I have paid less than €3 for 6 games and 7 DLCs.
Not bad! :giggle:

I doubt those red points reset each day, otherwise I could just continue to craft vouchers every day.
Not at this pace, but at least 1 or 2 per day.
So, I think when the red points are out, that will be the end of my vouchers. But, according to my calculations, I may still be able to craft 4 more.

So I seem to have an interesting glitch. While the site was a mess today, I claimed 4 $5 off coupons on my browser. It didn't seem to take, so I did it again on my tablet through the Steam App. It still didn't look like it worked, so I gave up. A few minutes later I jumped back onto my computer and purchased some games on the Steam site since my coupons were now there. I just checked my tablet, and 3 of the 4 coupons are back in my cart. There are not there on the site, but they are also there in the Steam app for Windows...

So, finished my first day of the sale and looking at how some games I had as a 'obviously this will be on sale' or 'at least this will match the historical low from previous sales' that I won't be purchasing this time around, I probably won't buy much more.

Here's what I got then:

Now I'm just missing Zone of Enders 2. Maybe I will end up getting either RE2 or DMC5. I wish we had seen more of Arma 3 Contacts though, I absolutely love the idea of mixing that kind of FPS with an alien threat but still not sold on what Bohemia has shown so far. Would be perfect to pick Arma 3 + Contacts + Apex DLC.

Damn this sale is almost like the ones of old!

I remember my very first sale - it was the gift pile! Way back when I actually got Terraria from it and Day of Defeat Source, which I traded with a friend for Sonic Generations since he got it from the pile somehow after he bought it. Good times.

The main question at this point is if the boost capacity resets tomorrow. If it doesn't, it's barely worth paying attention to for me. Otherwise, they're giving away a lot of money.
Yeah, if the reset doesn’t allow me to really use the majority of the achievement points... because I don’t buy more games [spend money] to build capacity... then I’m done with the achievement aspect of it and am going to start playing the games. I might spend a little more, but not enough to have a shitload of boost points... which you need to key tokens... that end up giving you the $5 coupon. I wish I would have not spent money on some of these games before the sale!!! However, I did get $20 off Dark Souls Remastered. I can smile about that.

Late to this one but Iron Galaxy has like 6 different projects going at all times because it's the best way to keep their company running. Going hard on one thing could spell disaster for them if whatever comes after doesn't work out.
What projects are they working on? I cant find any news on that :x
Crossposting the walkthrough I reverse engineered:

Ok quick walkthrough of the game from my "oh shit they really such at explaining themselves" expertice in working with another company whose name is not Valve but nearly:

The red number is your maximum allowed boost per day. It recharges daily. It is your "Boost capacity"(THE RED NUMBER). The big white number can never go above it, so you will waste any points that will go above it if you convert achivements.
You increase your "Boost capacity"(THE RED NUMBER) by:
  • Buying games during the sale( +121 points per each 1€ spend / +100 points per each 1$ spend)
  • Each day (+100)
  • You start with more depending on your account value. Edit: Account value refers to how much you spent on Steam.
The while big number is your FUEL(THE WHITE NUMBER). You recharge it doing the quests in the web, aka playing games. If you have done achivements, you can also convert them into fuel. It cannot go above the "Boost capacity"(THE RED NUMBER) of the moment. If it is above the "Boost capacity"(THE RED NUMBER), you will have no issue until the "Boost capacity"(THE RED NUMBER) goes to 0. Afterwards, you can continue using boost to burn FUEL (THE WHITE NUMBER), but you wont get tokens.

When you boost, you waste up to 1000 fuel. The wasted fuel is also taken out of your "Boost capacity", so you will end up reaching this state:

THE AMOUNT OF FUEL YOU WASTED WILL TRANSFORM INTO TOKENS, WHICH YOU CAN USE TO GET THE 5$ DISCOUNT, EMOJIS OR BACKGROUNDS.

The nitro speedometer is the multiplier you add when you boost. It depends on the location of your boost in the speedometer:

Hope this helps? This is all working on intuition and reverse engineering, which is kinda my job so I hope it is true

Edit: Yes, you can transform achivements from recent played games into fuel. The current thought is that you need to have played it for at least 30 minutes recently for them to be accepted by Steam.

So if i run any of the games listed for about 30 mins ill get fuel right? Is it 30 mins. Per one game for points or can i stack points for prelonged playthru of a single game?

Debating if I should finally take the plunge and get Elite: Dangerous or not.
I can't claim to have a balanced, unbiased view on this, as I've chalked up something like 600 hours in Elite: Dangerous... but if you're familiar enough with it, via streams or whatever, to have some feel for what it is - and isn't - and it still appeals, I say go for it!

It's not for everyone, however - the learning curve is steep, and the hand-holding and direction provided is minimal (although many improvements have been made to the new player experience recently). Once through the introductory 'tutorial' of sorts, you're left to your own devices - you and your ship, and billions of stars.

If it helps to sway things, depending on your location or exchange rate, you might find that it's cheaper directly from the Frontier store (which includes Steam keys):

I've been playing Rainbow Six siege and didn't realize that the first operator you buy from the base set is the cheapest and then the price gets higher for the others lol.
Straight up thought I'd be able to buy all of the base set for a cool 6K lol.
that's how they get you :smart-thinking-blob:

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good idle game? Not a clicker, but something more idley even. It's hard to find them because they're just lumped in with "clickers"

One of my friends recommended this

Couldn't tell you if it's any good, but it doesn't look like a straight up clicker. Not my style of game. I guess some people also consider Underlords as idle :p

Haha thanks, I had found that one and put it on my wishlist but it did look a bit too active. I'm looking for doing something every like 30 minutes or something.

May be too idle, if anything, depending on what you're looking for... but I've been addicted to Realm Grinder for years now. The same save can be accessed via the web and iOS/Android apps, too.
